Just turned on the TV and saw that on a news bulletin.

He's been sick for a bit lately, and the news of his death hasn't surprised me too much.

He was an outstanding New Zealander, a great man and a brilliant role model.

There'll be a lot of people around the world who'll be touched by his passing. But fortunately, he will live on through the history he created.

Same here... it's not a shock that he's died... it's a shock that the man was still alive!

89 years isn't a bad length of time to be alive, and it's nice that he went out in good spirits. RIP to the man.

We have witnessed the passing of a truly fascinating Kiwi. I did a presentation of him not too long ago, and I didn't believe he was still alive... now he really is not. This sudden event is unprecedented.

He's been sick for a bit lately, and the news of his death hasn't surprised me too much.

I find it ironic that he died the morning he was scheduled to be discharged from hospital. Tremendous loss.

He was an inspiration to all New Zealanders and a damn nice guy with it. A sad day indeed.

Totally agree, I remember thinking how great he was when I was really young, he reminded me of my Grandad.

Sad to see him go, but at least he had a long, full life

His legend will forever live on.
