For sure haha. Him and I are having a bit of a build off between us but helping each other. He's been buying parts like mad and should be sending off the front Clio for paint here soo . Just gotta make a few phone calls before we send it off. Can wait till we get it road ready and then get a real paint job on the whole thin .Progress is good by the look of things, your old man certainly doesn't stuff around! I really enjoyed looking at the old resto photos, cheers for showing us 👍
Oh absolutely. I try to wash my truck as often as I can with a pressure washer but it's eating it. I hate it. The roads literally turn white.Yup salt destroys any vehicles. That is why it always recommend that people living up north bring their cars through the car wash during the winter at least 1 time per week during the winter. Otherwise a $5.00 car wash could end up costing thousands of dollars years down the road. If you see white salt all over your vehicle in the winter, it is eating the paint and will start causing rust. Needs to be washed asap. Underbody spray is THE most important especially during the winter. (Not directed at you. Just people that refuse to wash their cars during the winter.)
Do you have any drive through car washes that provide under body spray? The hand held pressure washers can only get so much. Very hard to get under the vehicles with those. Still even a pressure washer is better than nothing. 👍Oh absolutely. I try to wash my truck as often as I can with a pressure washer but it's eating it. I hate it. The roads literally turn white.
Most of them offer it. I try to pressure wash everything best I can though. I would like to have it undercoated but it's very expensive.
You can undercoat it yourself using the spray cans from Advanced, Autozone, Walmart, Meijer or most anywhere. They are about $7.00 a can but work very well. Just make sure the area is clean of dirt or grime before you spray. You have access to a shop so it is very easy once the truck is on a lift. Just make sure to wear eye protection and gloves because that stuff is no joke. Its basically tar in a spray can. Same as I suggested in the previous post #76.Most of them offer it. I'm going to look into it. I've heard good things about it.Try buying a can or two of Fluid Film and spraying it under the truck. I put a coating on my frame rails and leaf springs back during the fall and then once again in January on a warm-ish day. It worked really well and I don't even have any surface rust under the trucks at all...which is a bit impressive considering the Tacoma's rust when you look at them.
Yeah I used a few cans of that stuff on my frame and it's held up decent but I really want to wire wheel it all down and paint/coat it.You can undercoat it yourself using the spray cans from Advanced, Autozone, Walmart, Meijer or most anywhere. You can spray under most vehicles with 2-3 cans. Even light coverage is better than no coverage at all.
