If I wanted rigidity and strength I'd use a Saab or a Chevy Bel Air.
BkSIf I wanted rigidity and strength I'd use a Saab or a Chevy Bel Air. You need balance for drifting, everything has to be balanced. Personally, I love the sound of V8's, but I won't deny that any l4 or l6 will sound way better everytime.
BkSLets be honest.. you wouldn't have as much fun in a full weight reduced, tubed S-chassis, than you would in a power-house Saab. In Saab's well the older ones anyway, the pillars and chassis are so strong you don't need a cage or tubes. Pretty sure they were light too, although I can't remember. XD
Being me, I'd do the stupid thing, unlike you sensible people...I like doing awkward things... O.O
EDIT: @Powell: I'm talking about drifting as a whole not just the car setup. You need to balance everything in drifting, in order for it to work. Throttle, steering input, etc, etc.
Nothing better then sinking a few beers at the pub in this amazing weather!
I want in on the debate ;p. I love D1SL for a number of reasons, one being the fact that the only frame modification allowed is a weld in cage, but most of the drivers use bolt in kits. Its less of a hassle/expense to do it that way, and that leads me to this. Tanaka has a welded in cage thats all. Your arguement is invalid Adam![]()
In 2 weeks and 3 days, I will officially be able to do this. For now, I HATE YOU! That's all.
@Ryan - I would be concerned about the safety of oneself by putting a "bolt in cage" in any car. If I was to put a cage in a car, it would definitely have to be proper. I.E Through the firewall to the struts, and welded onto the pillars of the car via gussets.
EDIT: Could someone jump on GT5 for 10 mins, to help me out with a photoshoot please?![]()
**** that, there is a guy in Ohio who custom makes weld ins that won't go through your dash. Its what I'm buying.
Oh yea, I forgot you're not even 18 hahaha
I'm not even 17 :|
This is most probably because of my beard.![]()
I don't think they'll be changing anytime soon.
