You can save gas by using Manual Transmission instead of Automatic
Tested on Circuit de Spa (800pp) with the Subaru BRZ GT300 '21 at FM (Fuel) 1
Automatic got 5.5 laps
Manual transmission (and shifting at 50% RPM for sake of showing) got 6.3 laps

The car appears to be the #101, driven by Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi, Matias Henkola, Max Sandritter, and George Richardson, who finished the 2016 24 Hours of Nürburgring in 22nd place overall. This is reflected in the name it had in GT Sport, BMW M6 GT3 (Walkenhorst Motorsport) '16.
 
Most probably know this but if you put the RX7 13B engine into the Eunos Roadster or the Cappuccino, it still gives a hilariously irritating shift indicator beep.
