Thanks. I'm going out today looking for a used slim. I dont have any plans for the current piece yet. I'm confident I can do the thermal paste fix myself, besides I've already had it apart so they won't do anything for me I'm sure. Maybe I'll fix it over the winter...

We've got a 20yr tradition with a Labor Day Party with friends, family etc. Games, lots of food and drink and will not be around to broadcast or any shape for it either lol. Sorry cuz when I seen this getting together I thought it would be a good one to broadcast too.

@Lessen ,They will do a refurb even if you opened it,as you are paying for it.If you have the original ps3 that is backward compatible,it is worth the cost of repair.Once they open it,they will test and fix all the problems.I had to have the MB replaced in mine,same cost,no extra charges.
