Been helping out my dad with his construction business.
When that storm came, we got a client frantically calling. Turns out this client was the moron my dad warned about flooding in his house. He told him to excavate some of the dirt and earth he had (there was tonnes) next to his house, and move it away from his basement because his windows were too low.
He said it's fine, and rather rudely dismissed the advice by dissing my dad (I was so close to hitting this arrogant bastard, I had a hammer in my hand....). So my dad played it cool, and finished the guy's basement the way the guy wanted.
When the storm hit, he called....
"What do I do?! There's water spewing out the windows like a fountain!"
"Really....? How can that happen..?"
"Im serious! What do I do?!"
"What do I do, he asks..... you should've moved the dirt away from your house. Now all you can do, is buy a pump."
"What?!?! It's 🤬 raining!!!"
"Well.... wait until the rain stops."
So yeah.... the day the storm hit, I was driving the Lowe's Delivery Van back to Lowe's to get my van back.... It was hell in the family van. Basically land yachting... I've never hydroplaned that much before, because I would just drive fast in my Goat. That method doesn't work with a '96 Plymouth Voyager..... it has no speed whatsoever, but it's like a mule, it won't give up on you. However, this mule was carried off by the water about 7 times ON THE 🤬 ROAD!!!
So yeah, the past few days have been hell, with construction, rain, heat, and yesterday night the cold came back. I was shivering with a Hoddie on.
