Apologies in advance for this venting session, the collection of little mistakes in GT6 has frustrated me enough to post my worthless opinion that no-one has any interest it on this forum - in list form.

1) No tachometer that works in 3rd person. The little bar-tach thing is useless and doesn't provide anywhere near enough detail to time your gear shifts with. I want a REAL tach, is that too much to ask?

2) PP doesn't alter when changing your power restriction.

3) As we all know the torque curves have been wildly inconsistent with power curves since GT5; not only did PD not fix this, they actually made it worse in GT6 by not even providing an RPM value in which max power is made! Remember the superb graphs we got in GT2? Why can't we have those again.

4) Changing gear-ratios is a chore, how on earth did they mess up a slider control mechanism on a game to such an extent? It's horribly jerky! A theoretical top speed is also not provided like it was in previous games.

5) Most standard models look just as bad as ever. Though I will say I do like the improvement to some - the FTO springs to mind, it's just a shame ALL standards weren't upscaled like that.

6) No lift-off oversteer on FF cars. The biggest offender, I remember the ITR in GT5 prologue had some nice lift-off oversteer characteristics. In GT6, it's just the same as 5, a perpetual, unrealistic, boring, understeer fest.

/Rant end.

Just drive your rover on the moon and be grateful that Kaz let's you be part of his vision ok?

Well after reading about all these little issues + frame rate drops in GT6, I'm actually reconsidering GT5!

I'd advise against getting GT6 unless you have friends you play with who own it, maybe in time with patches it might be worth it, but not now. The physics have changed, but I'm of the opinion absolutely nothing you play on a TV screen bares any degree of realism anyway, especially when FF cars can't oversteer on throttle lift-off.

The tires annoying, They living crap out of me.. Sounds like they recorded sounds through a straw..

It's in the car menu.

It's a very time consuming process. Be patience and we will be rewarded.

What GT6 are you playing? :dunce: A bit hard to notice, but it's there.

Is it that hard to figure it out yourself?

1) I want numbers, not play a guessing game with an awful graph without its axis properly labeled.

2) They've had plenty enough time.

3) It's not there, because I was an idiot youth once I'm aware you can throw the tail out on an FF car (and sometimes land in a hedge) I can assure you that the current physics in this regard are a total joke.

Read edit above.

Also, that graph is not that hard to read.

Do you know how long it takes or how many people are working on it? Progress is better than nothing.

OK it's in the car menu - better than nothing. Graphs are still awful, but fair enough. Tesselation shouldn't take that long, they aren't making fresh models.

Thanks I'll surely wait.

This evening I played Grid 1 at Bathurst with Prototypes and the race was insanely fun. I was running with a Courage against a field of Nissan 390 GT1, Mazda 787, Doran JE4, amazing cars and liveries  why can't we have grids like that in Gran Turismo?
I know Grid is arcade but their AI can be crazy, unpredictable and fast. And no frame drops, this is what I need from a racing game first of all.
  • Stable frame rate
  • good AI
  • opponents cars that makes sense
We need this stuff in every racing game, GT inclueded.

Spot on, couldn't have said it better myself.

I enjoyed that. :guilty:
And when my spouse (who couldn't see the tv) asked what I was doing... I started singing...
"I was strolling on the moon one day, in the merry merry month of December..." :sly:

Yeah, there are things to complain about. Mistakes, oversights, things missing (like shuffle :scared:).
But I don't think we need to blame that on the existence of the lunar rover on the moon mission. ;)

 You mention your spouse in every post.

Pretty sure I haven't mentioned my spouse in all 4,000+ posts to the forum. But anyway, what's your point? you jealous I have a spouse who shares interest in Gran Turismo. :sly:
I'm guessing the guy is anxious to get his hands on the remote control one day

Why do you even need a tach? You should know when to shift based on the sound the engine makes. (If you're hearing impaired, I apologize in advance)
Because in the real world most cars have tachs, this helps you not blow up expensive motors.

My complaints so far are:

- PD took the "be ready before christmas" deadline from Sony and gave us a late beta build.
- I'd also like too see directly, how PP changes when i lower the enginepower or put weight in my car.
- Those fantasy nicknames you're forced to use ingame. I'm ok with that offline, but online I want to see PSN-IDs ONLY!

we can drive on the moon but we can' add stickers to our cars

:indiff:

even games from small studios like Street Racing Syndicate, Juiced, and the fast an the furious had stickers, and almost 6-7 years ago
