So much details wasted..

That is how all console racers are. It's a limitation of the consoles.

Actually it's a limitation on the universe as we know it.

You will always be able to render a still frame (photo) faster than 60 of them (in-game second) no matter how powerful the hardware is... unless the hardware is a time machine.

They have great photomode but in car models are very low. In game graphics are weak, in photo mode it looks like a different game. Same thing seems to be with Forza4 showing great detail on trailer but in game graphics will be little improvement from Forza3?

I disagree, the car models are very detailed. They detailed all the buttons, seatbelts, even the retractable wings ( I found in the SLR, mclaren mp4-12, don't ask me how but its there.). The in game graphics aren't as detailed as the photomode graphics, yes. But not as significant to make it a "different game", they do this primarily to keep the 60fps they promised. Keep in mind that the Forza 4 trailer was leaked,it probably was not in its final build. It is leaked footage, you can't judge the game on leaked footage.

I love these interior shots you take of the cars, James. If you could get some shots of the '08 Dodge Viper ACR interior, that would be quite dandy. :)

Here are some facts:

LOD0: 172753 polys (car selection)
LOD1: 45074 polys (gameplay)
LOD2: 21802 polys
LOD3: 13134 polys
LOD4: 6360 polys
LOD5: 2556 polys
Hi-res cockpit: 79,845 polys

In game is pretty bad but if you want to take it loads highest detail to trick that it looks awesome lol

I see models and details as two different things, models are the accurate representation of the real life car counterparts, and details are the graphics, lighting, polygons ect.
My intentions aren't trying to trick someone, I am just stating my opinion that the ingame car's aren't as bad as to make it a "different game". I know that the photomode pictures have more details then the actual ingame mode.Even if the polygon counts are as bad as you say, it looks pretty wicked ingame to.👍 I created this thread to show how much effort Turn10 put in to each car model. Sorry if confused you :nervous:

I will say one more time, its the lighting engine that needs to be fixed, period! I am a car detailer, own 3 shops in FL, i have see them all from ferraris to lambos, the details on FZ3 are amazing compared to real life but the colors are just a little off. Black isnt black, grey isnt grey sometimes, if they fix the lighting system and colors for FZ4 with 16 cars, wow, get ready for possibly game of the year. Btw, the video doesnt show us anything, alph stage probably.

I hate how the interiors in F3 look half "black and white".

Yeah, the lighting imo suffers a lot in the interiors.

Yeah, seems like they took note of that. Seems to be well corrected in FM4. But I think it's not really like those pics. The above pics are heavily processed so as to show all the details in the interior because by default it's pretty dark in there.

It is actually really dark. If I took a picture without any effects, you would not be able to see anything.

The question is, WHY...if we can't see them.

You will see them. I FM4, in Autovista. With proper texturing and lightning.

Those Indian, Chinese and Austrian modelers did their job there for future-proofing, as PD did with GT5 premium models.

The interior on the LFA looks like it was shot with a 1940's black and white camera. Thank god this looks highly improved in Forza 4.

I thought the Benz with no driver was kind of cool though.

Not much difference here

Hoping for custum interiors too bee announced. I'd love some red accents in that cockpit.

There is something still wrong in the coloring or lighting (the silver trim doesnt reflect light properly) but yeah the one with the red would have been a better choice.

The silver trim lighting seems like the image is overblown in that area. To bump up the detail the exposure in the camera was probably turned up, leaving really shiny parts to be blown out.

Blown out images tend to lose detail. In those 2 real life shots you can't even see the Lexus pad print on the center console nor any of the black markings at all.

Other than the instrument panel guages, the LFA "cockpit" is actually not very impressive. Toyota has been pretty drab as of late (having lead the pack for awhile). You guys see the new 2012 Camry? What a snoozer.

It's sort of like GT5 we get all this detail in all this stitching and everything but you don't notice alot of it during the race :/

Except you will notice it in Autovista, which GT5 doesn't have...

And yes the lighting and graphics are not perfect... but it is the closest thing to real I will ever be able to experience or have seen in a sim yet. You all forget this is done on a XBOX 360. Next gen will be all that more impressive. I know I am not the only one here who remembers 8 bit or lower gaming....
