PSN?!? What PSN?!?
Greetings all, to all greetings! i was sitting at home rambling on about my best and worse tracks, favorite and hated. then it dawned on me after browsing over the many 'Hated Track' list and i decided to go with the complete opposite. Now this isnt just a name three tracks and call it a day. no, i broke it down into three categories. 1. Fav Most Challenging Track, 2. Fav Most 'Walk in the Park' Track (the track you feel your a pro at and see 1st at consistently), and lastly 3. Fav Track to Test Out New/Old Settings (your test track in other words). So with that said here's my 3:

1. Opera Paris. This was almost a tie between Hong Kong, but i like Paris' tight corners and turns around the pit area. makes for some good low end RPM and torque tuning and an agile suspension.

2. Grand Valley East. This was a close call and harder decision:dunce:, it came down to Mid-Field and Trail Mountain, but GV East is a far much easier track then the two runner-ups.

3. Laguna Seca. Laguna Seca would've been my 'Walk in the Park' track but it wouldnt had have made sense naming the same track twice. its a great track to test both handles as well as speed and acceleration around corners, and the 'Corkscrew', absolutely my favorite turn at Laguna Seca. Laguna Seca along side with the Test Course is where all of SRinc.'s cars are tuned and test ran at.

So lets see it guys and gals, what are your 3 favorites**...

*AGAIN THE 3 TRACKS YOU PICK SHOULD BE BY THE CRITERIA LISTED ABOVE, PS. what do you think about the new avatar?, SRinc.*

1. The 'Ring. You knew it was coming.

2. Walk in the park how? AI races at El Capitan forward are always exceedingly easy with many spots for easy passing but the track itself is somewhat difficult to get perfect (even after A-speccing the enduro a few times). At this point Trial Mountain is another "walk in the park" track in terms of being able to win consistently as long as I can drive the car properly. But as a truly easy track... I'm going to have to say something like Tsukuba. Wide, flat and nothing but brake, turn, throttle repeated over and over with 2 corners that are something other than hairpins yet still possible to off at.

3. If I've gotta test something, Trial Mountain has become the yardstick by which it gets measured.

1. The 'Ring. You so didn't see that coming ;)
2. Probably El Capitan, the AI makes it so easy to win, heck, a stock Nissan Fairlady 2000 '68 without Oil Change was overkill in the Nissan Z Race for me.
3. Apricot Hill, nice variety of corners, and it's not too long.

the Ring was never a real challenge to me i got it down pat on GT1. and im thinking El Capitan is gonna appear alot as the 'Walk in the Park', never thought of using Apricot Hill as a tuning ground i might have to take my newly tuned R34 GT-R there.

yea knew the 'Ring was coming, El Capitan is indeed an easier track then most just not one of my faves, and Trail Mountain is a great track to test on, it currently the track im working my drifting on, so far best drift performed 3/4 out of the amber lite tunnel around that right hand turn into the shorter tunnel, pure sweetness i still have it stored on my memory card.

so High Speed RIng poses a challenge to you as well? and another AP Hill tune track, im liking where this may be going.

What is this I don't even.

EDIT: LOL. ROFL. LOLOL.

No, not that Ring. 'Ring = Nurburgring Nordschliefe (add accents etc where needed). NOT HSR.

oooo, i wasn beginning to wonder if High Speed Ring had gotten tougher over night lol! ok yes the Nurburgring Nordschiefe is indeed a challenging track, idk personally out of the 'Ring and Circuit de la Sarthe I id go with de la Sarthe i love thise two tight turns down the back straight.

Citta di Aria <--really technical and the narrow streets are fun and challenging.
Seattle Circuit <--classic
Clubman Stage Route 5 <--fun drift track

nice nice list, Seattle's another track id have now consider for 'Walk in the Park'.

1. R246
2. Seattle
3. Midfield

your list on the other hand was a bit more interesting. Tokyo R246 would be a 'Walk in the Park' for me while Seattle is one too. Midfield Race Way was my test track on Gran Turismo 3, so i fully understand why you go there.

:tup:1.La Sarthe 1
:tup:2.The Ring
:tup:3.High Speed Ring

is the German Nurburgring really a 'Walk in the Park' to you, if so 👍!

i was wondering if Tsukuba was an easy track to someone other than myself, its nit a fav for me cuz im like 90% wins there and the 2nd places were close so the agony of defeat is more brutal. i like SS5 and it has always been a favorite track thru Gran Turismo's series over the years but i havent thought of testing cars there, thats a neat track to do so on.

Every since i started playing GT, SS5 has been my favorite track.

To me it has everything, a long straight, medium speed corners, fast chicanes, a hairpin, and a 90 degree corner. Plus it has elevation changes which make car setup imperative.

Oh and i almost forgot, its a track set at night on what seems to be a highway, kinda reminds me of street racing. :D

Im honestly not a fan of that track (tsukaba) it is very straight forward and kind of plain.

SS5 is really fun i like the uphill and downhill. Tracks with more radical incline changes are really fun for me like drop of death in citta di aria.

yea i used to line up two cars and drag race em down the straight away, the night time setting appears to be earrrly morning before sunrise or during the sunfall in the evening. when your coming up on the last turn look off to your left top screen area and you'll see what im talking about. if you miss it, then next time by look dead ahead right before the elevation begins just shy of the last turn. and you'll see alot of light blue and then darker blue.

im a fan of both tracks there just not top favorites :ouch:

I'll bet there's already a "fave track" thread somewhere, but what the hell...

My 3 faves (at the moment, but this is always subject to change). Infineon, El Capitan, and Cathedral Rocks I.

That's basically my fave from each category...in effect, my favorite real-life track is Infineon (SEARS POINT DAMMIT), my fave fictional track is El Cappy, and my fave off-road track is Cathedral Rocks. My favorite city track would be Capri. 👍 My fave Gran Turismo track of all time? Grand Valley, of course. Actually, there's a tie between Grand Valley and Autumn Ring.

My favorite GT2 track? Rome Nite, with Red Rock Speedway a close 2nd. :D

I could quite easily pick Der Nürburgring for all three categories here - it's the most challenging on which to get a perfect lap, yet I also race on it the most and see victories against the AI so I'd consider it my "walk in the park" track - but also, if I'm testing settings I use the 'Ring to do so, and always test new cars there too.

If I must choose two other circuits for #2 and #3 though, #2 would be Grand Valley Speedway. I would have chosen Tsukuba as this is my next most selected track, but as Tsukuba is so short it's actually quite a challenge to win there if you're only doing say, two laps there against quick cars.

#3 would be Driving Park Motorland. I mostly use slower cars in GT4, and Motorland is a good place to race and test them.

1.) Test Course
2.) Laguna Seca
3.) Special Stage Route 5

your list with the criteria has Test Courses as your most challenging which raises and eyebrow and also i stated it couldn't be used as a favorite here, Laguna a 'walk in the park', that one is understandable, and SS5 is a great tune and test track.

Tokyo, Sarthe II and nuburgring

another good compilation of tracks here, Tokyo's isn't a challenging course to me though some AI cars do make for competitive racing once in a while, Sarthe i can see as a 'walk in the park' because of the long straight, i personally prefer Sarthe I, and who wouldn't want to test run their newly tuned machine at Nurburgring.

yea i'm sure there is one too, that's why i broke it down into favorite challenging, 'walk in the park', and favorite test/tune track. with what you have Infineon is indeed a challenging track to me and it hasn't been nice to all my cars that put up miles over there, but it is a great track nonetheless. there wasn't a favorite 'City Track' nor 'Favorite Fictional', or 'All Time Favorite' track in this particular thread. i suggest everyone read over the criteria before submiting your post, but i do respect and appreciate the feedback's, happy tuning!

that's great and i appreciate that you went by the thread's criteria. the 'Ring as all three is ofcourse a first so far! though the rules didn't state using the same track as all three i like that you broke down why it could have easily been though. and your runner up options are fantastic, i think after Laguna Seca i'm taking test/tune cars to GV Speedway as the second portion of the tune/testing. Tsukuba nice and easy but it isn't a track i frequent enough to be considered a favorite.

1_ challenging track, The 'Ring for obvious reasons
2_ Easy Track, El Capitan becuase I tune cars there and have learnt all the turns.
3_ For testing settings, El Capitan again driven every car I have tuned there
:)

1. Nurburgring Nordschleife
2. Trial Mountain
3. Fuji '05 GT (I love drifting on the runoff strips)

These are my favourite track...

First, the Nurburgring. This track really is testing my patience, especially with the bumps and challenging corners. Also good for testing too... (The most challenging)

Second, the Laguna Seca. This track is just brilliant and is quite challenging too... With the 'Corkscrew' really tests the braking and the cornering ability of the car and the driver. Just an awesome track for endurance racing like the Nurburgring!! (Think I'm pro here)

Lastly, the Fuji 2005. This is just, looks like an easy track but sometimes, it isn't. The track really tests the mechanical grip of a car and it really is challenging for some understeery cars. Good testing track... Apricot Hill is the most favourite track for testing for sure with lots of corners...

So those are my favourite and actually I have more but I just list the top 3 there... Thanks for reading :)
