So SRinc. Wants to Know, What are Your Favorite 3 Tracks?

My 3 favorite tracks are:

1) Seattle - because it's my home town and the scenes and feel of driving it very much remind me of my wonderful home.

2) Infineon - because I've raced there in my kart and it's like my 2nd home track in the game.

3) Nurburgring - because it's the greatest racing venue ever built by man on Earth, and I would dearly love to drive there in one of their track-prepped rental cars.

a) 'fiddling' with settings is in fact the way to improve your tuning in GT4, especially as opposed to using others' templates or formulae for the same (or even different) car.

'Think of it this way: if a thread is not attracting useful posts then it should die.'

ok for one i never heard of 'fiddling' or wouldn't refer to tuning settings as such. and of course i tune my cars all and every, duplicates in some cases are often set-up different by tuning the settings differently. and 'better yet cheers' was to show agreeing with another user, i don't seem him getting nailed for his thumbs-up smilie! we simply agreed on a point... that's all. and last i can worry less if the thread dies, my life doesn't revolve around my threads i post daily. of course it's gonna die out but so far it's still generating a few new post by users with their 3 tracks and i intend on offering feedback.

1. The Ring (obviously)
2. Sarthe I (love it to bits, and probably my most lapped track)
3. Toss up between Motorland Reverse, GVS and yet again, The Ring!

Here's my 3:

Most challenging favourite: Suzuka. I really like the track, due to its completely different sectors, but because I don't use it much, I completely suck at it :(. However, I enjoy trying to improve my skills there. Especially that S-License test (I think it's #12), I can never get enough of it! :D

Walk-in-the-park favourite: Midfield. It's a track I'm good at, and it's a short, pretty basic track, which I go on for a bit of a break. It's also the first track in GT I ever drove on, so I'm pretty fond of it! I'd also say High-Speed Ring, because it's possible to win races there driving backwards :P

Settings test favourite: I'd say Test course, for obvious reasons, but... I'll say Infineon, because it's virtually perfect for finding all the aspects of a car's behaviour. You can see how the car acts braking on a hill, or driving over rumbles, or simply against other cars! I love that track too.

this is the ideal response i was looking for at the start of this thread as well as other posts with great list and i thank you guys for it. what caught my eye here was Infineon. you made great points with why you test there 'braking on a hill, driving over rumbles, thats some good stuff!

1) Nurburgring
2) Seattle
3) Infineon

short & sweet, nice!

the nurburgring and reverse. test course. sarthe 2.

I know you are not perfect do you mean nurburgring in reverse? I am not good on that track but for some reason I love this track!:sly: La Sarthe is very easy to me. The test course is loved for obvious reasons.
Nice List.👍

I'll think about it when i'm taking Shiloh (my dog) for a walk...

EDIT: Ok, I've now decided...well... not entirely.

The Most Challenging track is the Nordschleife, no surprises there.
My favourite 'walk in the park' track has a tie: Costa De Amalifi and Seattle Street Circuit
my Favourite Test course would have to be either GVS (as with MFT), the 'Ring and Trial Mount.

I occasionally do that, too. If you take a car to Nurburgring, there's nothing that literally prevents you from driving the "wrong way" on the track. Obviously, the game won't record times if you drive in that direction, and you won't win any races against AI, but it is an interesting challenge to figure out what corner is coming next when you're approaching it at 150 mph and haven't ever driven it in that way. The track develops a completely different feel, too, since the 'Ring is a track that depends so much on "flow," and that flow is interrupted when you reverse the order of the corners. Also, many corners are totally blind, since they aren't designed to be driven that way.

Nice, you have me beat at Citti Di Aria I'm not to wild over it as much as other tracks. For that to be your 'Walk-in-the-Park', to me shows you have good driving skills! oh correct me if I'm wrong.

Austin343 - I've done the same!
During rev-limiter testing, I have driven backwards on the 'Ring 30 or 40 times (with different cars). I drive backwards past the Kleine-Karussell, turn around, and then blast back down the long straight to see if my car hits the rev-limiter. I then adjust my gearing and test again. I have driven one or two entire laps backward, just for fun, but never with any intention of seeing what was possible because the time is not being recorded.

so what would your 3 tracks be?

SRinc. - My track ranking would be as follows:

1) Favorite/Challenging - Nurburgring followed closely by Infineon

2) Walk-In-the-Park - Deep Forest followed closely by El Capitan

3) Favorite Test track - None

I always test my car on whatever track I am going to race on next. For the last nine months or so I have been focused on hunting for A-spec points so there always seems to be a specific race that I want to drive next.

The only track I actually dislike is Motegi Road.

Respectfully,

Cool not bad, Nurburgring is proving the be jusy as demanding as its meant to be. I'm having trouble there in the Real Circuits Tour all but the 'Ring done.

* I wanna add or change Grand Valley East to my favorite Test/Tune track over Laguna Seca. It has that long straight that leads into turns 1 and 2. It's a perfect track for a quick run to see where your car or you tuning skills are.

1. Fav Most Challenging Track,

Hmmm. Seriously can't decide.

For GT4 tracks, it's a toss-up between Nurburgring, Hong Kong (seriously), Suzuka, Costa di Amalfi, and Infineon/Sears Point. I can't choose just one as my fave.

For off-road tracks, I like Cathedral Rocks (any version), with Chamonix a close 2nd place.

For tracks which have appeared in other games, it's an easier choice: Autumn Ring. Trail Mountain and Deep Forest tie for 2nd place.

2. Fav Most 'Walk in the Park' Track (the track you feel your a pro at and see 1st at consistently),

El Capitan. The Ai can't handle the tunnel/hill area very well, braking when they don't need to. I always wind up vastly lowering power at this course, falling far behind some of the opponents, only to catch right up to them as I fly out of the tunnel and down the hill! :dopey: Then they catch me at some point during the rest of the track (usually down the main straight). Solution? Blast by them again out of the tunnel/hill area!

3. Fav Track to Test Out New/Old Settings (your test track in other words).

This one is easy. Grand Valley full course. I like it since it appears in all GT games, has bumps, tight corners, faster curves, turns of all kinds, a hill, and promotes that euphoric feeling as we roll down the main straight and into the first hairpin, with all the people cheering. :D

My settings varied so wildly when comparing GT1 to GT4, too. I kept alot of settings written down during GT1, which makes it easy to compare the same car from game to game.
