So what's up with all of the ******* from ATL that say they can drift....

I always hear all of these people in Atlanta talking about how they can drift soooooooooooo good. As far as I know there are only like 20 people signed up for Turner on Sat. I heard a lot of people saying that it's too expensive. Well if you think about it, it's expensive right now because this is the first practice event ever in Atlanta. We have to gain the trust of the local venues and then maybe we can attain cheaper prices. Right now they think that we are a bunch of kids doing stupid stuff in parking lots....they don't understand yet. We all need to do our part to help legitimize the sport. If we refuse to show our faces at these local events, the sactioning bodies will be forced to hold these type of events for amatuers in states where people show an interest (and taveling to another state to drift legally as a lot more expensive than $95). Believe me when I say, the peple at DGtrials are not trying to rip you off with the price of driving in this event. I know them very well and they are going to lose money on this event....even if all 40 slots were taken, they wokuld still lose a tremendous amount of money. They are willing to do this for the growth of the sport!! I heard some people say "It's too expensive, I'll just keep it on the street". I understand the reasoning behind this because I have *cough cough* drifted in places that I was not supposed to, but I am still going to do my damnest to make it to any local amatuer event held. I will take a hit in the wallet for my passion of the sport. Do you think it was always easy for SCCA. I'm sure they had to go through their own feats to gain respect. I mean, I would like for Dan, and maybe even myself, to someday be able to compete in Formula D. I just don't know how we will gain the experience if there is no legal place to practice.

So, in conclusion,get your asses out to Turner on Sat. or I will come and hunt each and every one of you down and then I will slowly kill you!!! and it will not be fun for you.

I can see that both of you are haters and that one of you are from Europe ("Who the bloody hell are you talking to..."?) and not Atlanta (so I'm not sure why you replied). If you're concerned about why I used the word "*****" in the title of this thread, it is because I wanted people to look at it...as both of you did. Mission accomplished!!! All I want is for people in Atlanta to support the cause (which is drifting....isn't that the main reason for this forum?). If you don't get it, I'm sorry. Maybe someday you will. But if you are in New Zealand or Pennsylvania, then I don't think anything I said in this thread applies to you, except for...get your ass out on the track and start supporting the drifting community or else it will not make it. Drifting is my passion....if it was yours, I'm sure you would understand.

^^^^^That wasn't my intention. I apologize. I wanted the drifters to come out and drive. Drivers around here always complain that there is never events in GA and then when there is one, no one signs up. The evnt is past now and it turned out very well. WE all got 24 runs and the day went very smooth. Again, I wan't really trying to make anyone mad. Like I said I was just trying to get the attention of the readers.

I drive a 240 that I share with my man. No, I'm not all that good, but I have only particpated in 3 events, my boyfriend is much better than I. I'm just good friends with the guys from DGTrials and was trying to get some people out to their event since no one was signing up. So, no, I wasn't just bragging...and you actually are wrong. BTW, it was an amatuer drift event...not a competition at all.

I guess maybe ya'll just can't detect my tone of voice since this is the internet and all. I was playing around with some of the stuff I said. Do you really think that I was serious when I said that I will "hunt each and every one of you down and then I will slowly kill you!!! and it will not be fun for you." No...it was a joke...get over it.

The point is, Tracy, you presented your point like an idiot. You misrepresented the entire issue. A proper way to make your statement would be something like,

"Is anyone here from Atlanta? If so, do you drift? I'm into a drifting, and I'm seeking others with the same interest. If you'd like to schedule a get-together...blah blah blah."

If you come here spewing nonsense about "Blah blah ppl in Atl. sukc at teh drftng ZOMG", no one will take you seriously or even be compelled to listen. Your taste in humor is poor, and you choose the most horrible timing to implement it. If we're so "misunderstanding" of you, why not just go away? To the359, I think you are being a little harsh, I, being a member of 240sx.org, drifting.com, and other forums do know what she is talking about, there are a lot of people that are from not only atlanta, but from everywhere that talk about not being able to drift anywhere and that they wish there were events around. She was just trying to let people know about the event and try to either encourage, or scare them into going to it. I personally like drifting and if I had the money I would have went, but i didn't. And there are people who do care about and like drifting and live in atlanta on this board. So since this is the "motorsports" section and drifting is a "motorsport" why are you getting so riled up about this small thing? No offense to anyone, and the359 I thank you greatly for the car list. You did a great job on it.

Remember people: some of us like drifting, and some of us don't. All of us acknowledge that "Drifting" + "Public Roads" = "Bad". Now, if people want to go drift, not on public roads, that's fine. If you don't like it, that's fine too. Just don't respond in the thread.
