Some drifting Q's...

Tsk tsk..what a moron. Just to let you in on this, I dont think anoyone can match my um..verbal assualting skills, so dont try it, which appreantly you are, and its obvious. And second, I did use sims the second I got this game. Its the only tires I could afford and they came to my liking very quickly. So stop talking **** even you dont know what you're saying. 1) You're a noob, you dont know how to drift right.
2) How old are you? 12, 13? We have kids here that I've seen, 12 years old with alot better manners (and skill) than you seem to have.
3) It's 100% useless to even try to fight anyone here, we all know our stuff inside and out, and I can speak for everyone here, you dont know what you're doing. And I can speak for everyone in saying you aren't on the best grounds with anyone here. Almost everyone will let you know sims take skills, alot more than any other tyre. ;)

You guys are making me look bad for starting this thread.
Lets leave that stuff for the pm's.

Well, as pertaining to how clean and consistant you're lines are.

As for this whole drift 'racing' thing, how does that work? Any rules according to that?

Also, I use a standard DualShock2 controller. I have a mad catz MicroCON but it doesn't compare at all. I'm curious if people use the d-pad or analog stick to control the front wheels during a drift line.

Personally I have found the analog stick is great for just tapping to keep my line good d-pad works best for precise driving (racing with actual grip).

Could it be?

Is it... the first post?

Oh, sorry. :D The whole racing drift thing isnt used a whole lot here, but in D1 and things, its basically the same like as a normal race line, mostly the out-in thing. And I dont use the d-pad, or analog stick, so I can't help you there.

Ok I'll stop fighting but last words have to be said here in my defense,i might be a newbie here but just cus you have been here a couple off months before me doesnt mean your better also i don't give a **** about typing good and last thing i'll take your challenge

Are you always this stupid, or was this brought on by recent developments such as lobotomy, inhalation of paint, or mastication of rat bait?

Nonsense, it's always good to have stupidity showcased. Not your fault anyway.

Yeah, thanks. We couldn't tell.

Anyway, to throw my answers into the mix:

1) Speed and consistancy are both valuable things. However, if you're in an exhibition drifting competition, you're better off sacrificing speed, if it will grant you a better degree of control.

2) Drift racing. Well. As far as I'm concerned, drift racing means you're just using the principles of drifting during a race, though the main differences between that an an exhibition would be that your angles would be typically much lower on most corners, because you're taking them and trying to clear at the highest speed possible. This means you'll want to be lined up as close as you can to the road when you exit the turn, so you waste less time getting back in position.

3) There are lots of people who prefer the pad over the wheel, it's nothing to really take note of. As for control, I use, and I suspect most people here do too, the analog stick. As you said, d-pad is probably best for grip, but I've always gone analog.

 Jesus wept.... Try a little punctuation. Maybe even throw in a few Capitals every once in a while. Makes it sooo much easier to understand. Please ?

What is up with Initial D then?

Is it faster to drift on those twisty ass mountain roads?

Aaah... well, I think that the series must take a few liberties here and there, but it's entirely possible that it's quicker to drift downhill. It certainly makes it a bit more interesting.

It's not just downhill. Depending on the turn, and the drivers skill drift could be faster. If your good, you could be able to drift all turns and not loose too much ground or even keep up.

Drifting is only faster depending on certain conditions!

Initial D is making me wanna buy another car for the sole purpose of drifting instead of using the money to build up on the one I have now, and I don't wanna try to convert my RS cuz I've been building and tuning it for the highways.

Tearin' up the local mountain passes in an old AE86 or something like that would be pretty fun too. Then I too could become an anime character!

****.... so many kids think like that. It's queer.

But I'm kinda serious about the car and it's applications and it doesn't necessarily have to be an 8-6. Anything under $5k canadian dollaz.

Any ideas?
