Anyone noticed the newish members now posting, maybe just joined because of gtsport..:)
I know I did :D
I think these forums are the most active forums about videogame racing, and I just love videogame racing. Been a long while since I seriously played a racing simulator game (not counting games like NFS), and I look forward to getting serious with GT Sports again :D Can't wait till monday :embarrassed:

I'm fairly new I suppose, originally signed up to ask about wheels, managed to get in on the closed beta and have been reading occasionally since then.

Unfortunately I'm old enough to remember the first GT, in fact I think I still have it somewhere with my PS1..

I wonder how the regions will be sorted in Sport mode, if it will be like the closed Beta or if everyone can compete against each other on a global leaderboard. The Japanese / Australian drivers seemed strongest, probably because they live in the future so have unfair advantage of being ahead of the game. I hope DS4 controls is still as good as the closed Beta, it will be interesting to see how competitive it gets now that is an open Beta. I might become a backmarker, should be fun. Hopefully see some more familiar names on the leaderboards who didn't get the chance to try out the closed Beta. Might be last time I get to race online this year on GT as not sure if I will get PS Plus for the full game unless there are decent competitions.
It doesn't get any louder than anything else for me.
Does that mean there is an audible ramp up in fan noise a bit like the original PS4? I tried the Slim with GTS and seems to be slighly quieter than the C chassis PS4. I'm hoping there will be a Slimmer PS4 Pro before upgrading to that, maybe 12nm SoC change early next year should make it possible and also help bring down the price a little bit.

Nope. My Pro has always been quieter than my original PS4.

Fan noise has never really been noticeable with it, until my launch day PS4, which could sound a bit like it was taking off at times.
I guess it is a bit of a luck of the draw if you get a quiet or loud one. Might still end up upgrading living room PS4 to a Pro so will see if I do get one, if the newer 7100 revision has improved things or not.

It’s dissapointing to find that the demo is available to ps+ members only. Unless I missed it somewhere, it was never mentioned in any news article nor on the Gran Turismo official site.

It is not, just the download date that is a bit earlier. They will make it playable at the same time for all , PS+ or not.

My download (PS+) has finished early this morning. Looking to the replays and the behavior of the cars when taking corners, mostly on corner entry ,make me feel very good things about the physics. They seems to have changed a lot since first beta version. Visually at least, i hope the feel will be there too.

Nowhere in the original post or article did it specify that a PS+ account is needed to download the demo and play early.

Looks like I'll be waiting until the 17th. I'll make my decision on whether I want to spend $50+ on a year of PS+ just to play GTS after a few days of gameplay.

That's because it isn't.

From reports, it seems that the US PS Store has some requirement to have PS Plus for the preload (downloading the demo earlier than the start date), but the demo itself otherwise requires no PS Plus to play - even in Sport mode.

I am calculating all server open dates into my local timezone (GMT +7) and the result is...

GTS Beta open dates

EU: 9th October 10am (BST) (https://blog.eu.playstation.com/201...t-limited-time-demo-goes-live-on-9th-october/)
US PS PLUS: October 9th, at 12:00am (https://blog.us.playstation.com/201...t-free-limited-time-demo-launching-october-9/)
US NON PS PLUS: October 9th at 6:00pm (https://blog.us.playstation.com/201...t-free-limited-time-demo-launching-october-9/)
ASIA/SINGAPORE: 0400 (+8 GMT) on October 10th 2017 (Tues) (https://asia.playstation.com/en-sg/press-releases/2017/1h/20171004-gtsportdemo/)

Converted local timezone

ID EU: 9th October 4pm
ID US PS PLUS: 9th October 2pm
ID US NON PS PLUS: 10th October 8am
ID ASIA/SINGAPORE: 10th October 3am

pretty annoying lol

Sorry if this has been answered before:

I plan on getting the digital version of the game when it releases. This will obviously be a big download.

Has there been any confirmation that the demo is actually a locked down version of the final game, where all of the features can be unlocked later with purchase?

I wouldn’t mind trying it out but I’m not up for downloading 40GB this week only to download another 50 or so next week.

I'm with you there. It's kind of backasswards, in that I plan to decide on whether to subscribe to PS+ based on GTS, not subscribe first in order to play.

I'm also noticing that the EU announcement described it as a demo with wording implying "not full function". What I am seeing in the US "store" on my PS4 under "demos" is that it's actually the full game free to use for a limited period for PS+ subscribers. I still can't pre-load it without paying for PS+

What I understood it is the full game but locked down. Maybe there will be a couple of GB up to launch with the licensefile that opens up the game. Can't imagine they will force you to redownload the same files with only minor changes. If they can reduce/prevent loads of extra traffic, they will. At least that is my thought.

What's the best setting for HDR Peakness? By default it's set to 4 on my system. Do I have to crank it up till 10? Or will it be to bright then? Just leave it default on 4?

Same for me. After the initial setup it was set to 4 in the options menu. Leave it for now you can always go back to it.

I'm on a 4K 55"TV on the PS4 Pro and the game demo isn't filling my screen. Is anyone else having this issue? I'm hoping I'll be able to adjust it once the demo is unlocked but I wanted to see if I was the only one.

Go to Options > Video Settings and change the size of your screen.

Does the demo unlock in the UK in 4 hours 45 mins?
No. It unlocks at 10.00 am tomorrow morning.

I'm on the same size TV and mine does. When you initially ran the demo did you set all the picture options? The last screen had some corner markers which should have been at the very corners of the screen with instructions on what to do if they weren't. Mine were so I didn't really read it properly.
