I think we could look at adding the SLS possibly as that (from memory is a more stable car for the pad users but acting like the DB9 in the previous race)

I may be mistaken, but is the Lotus Evora in the same category as the 458, MP4-12c and sls?

MP4-12C: 1'56.659 on SM tires.

Will test 458 tonight. If you are really interested in this race, we should start a thread.

Italia - 1'58.2
MP12-c - 1'58.6 (never finished the fast lap but was 0.5 secs up from 458 time at the last split.)

I match them times. Was you driving on Sports Hard yes?

chrisr1984
Yea, i was using sports hard, these times were after about 6 laps. 👍

I did an out lap then 4 laps, increasing each time.

Edit: or more say decreasing :)

SLS, ZR1 and F430 SC look similar in laptimes, perhaps even the SLR and LFA to spice up the mix and offer some alternatives? Would definitely be open to such a race.

Best thing we can do is just test the cars we want to try out and put them up here so andy can choose, unless of cause he has his own ideas.

I have a couple more ideas which ill try out later and see what everyone thinks :)

Ok I have some ideas for the cars we could use.

450PP - 470PP

Honda NSX - 468PP
Lotus Evora - 460PP
Mazda RX7 Sprint - 466PP
Nissan 370Z - 462PP

520PP - 535PP

Nissan GTR - 529PP
Ferrari F40 - 527PP
Ferrari California - 522PP
Dodge SRT10 - 533PP

540PP - 550PP

Lexus LFA - 541PP
Lamborghini Gallardo - 546PP
Corvette Z06 - 542PP
Ferrari Scuderia - 548PP

550PP - 570PP

Mclaren MP12-C - 566PP
Ferrari 458 Italia - 558PP
Ford GT - 567PP
Mercedes SLS - 559PP

These groups of cars are purely a selection of some I'd like to drive and then cars with the same PP's added to make a choice. I havent tried any of the cars to see how effective they are against each other so they could be a certain car thats very very fast or handles much better.

As for tracks, ive not had a look at that yet.

Let me know what you think of the car lists.

Good god, you had to say the ford GT didn't you, my favorite car of all time.

Favorite singular car list

Ford GT
Dodge Viper
Ferrari 458
Mclaren MP4-12c

You see the problem? :)

I'm totally digging the ones that I've highlighted. Might also be interested in the last one. Problem is that I have no idea how much practice I need with my wheel before I can actualyl be competitive. And obviously, I won't be using my controller after i get it. So I probably won't be making any new race threads until a few days after christmas.

small bit of testing..

450PP - 470PP

Nurburgring GP/F

Honda NSX - 2'16.8
Lotus Evora - 2'19.5
Mazda RX7 Sprint - 2'20.1
Nissan Z34 - 2'21.9

These cars are no good really, only 2 which are comparable are the rx7 and Z34, other 2 are too quick.

520PP - 535PP

Nurburgring GP/F

Nissan GTR - 2'11.4
Ferrari F40 - 2'16.8
Ferrari California - n/a
Dodge SRT10 - n/a

Not tested all these obviously but at the mo the F40 should probably go with the NSX, ill finish testing the others tonight/tomorrow.

550PP - 570PP

Monza with Chicanes

Mclaren MP12-C - 1'58.6
Ferrari 458 Italia - 1'58.2
Mercedes SLS - 1'58.3
Ford GT - 1'57.4

The first 3 are perfect for each other imo, the Ford GT is slightly harder on the corners but the straight line speed is where it makes up the time, its also probably one of the easiest to drive.

Ok I have some ideas for the cars we could use.

540PP - 550PP

Lexus LFA - 541PP
Lamborghini Gallardo - 546PP
Corvette Z06 - 542PP

550PP - 570PP

Mclaren MP12-C - 566PP
Ferrari 458 Italia - 558PP
Ford GT - 567PP
Mercedes SLS - 559PP

I will definitely join one of these (or both :)).

I could match the 458 laptime with the 430SC both on sport hard tires, ZR1 and LFA are also worth looking at in terms of laptimes. Can't test it myself until thursday unfortunately.

The new update has just made online endurance races MUCH more awesome, with tires degrading like they should. Now, we can have real endurance races with the people being able to change tactics according to tires!

what exactly has changed?

There's now a big diffrence between how fast the soft tires degrade compared to the hard ones. I read a comment stating that the hard tires now degrade 9% faster, and the soft tires degrade 50% faster. They've tested it out both online and offline. Whether or not those numbers are 100% correct, I don't know. But there is a considerable difference, that's for sure.

****ing Great!! Finally!!

Im going online now Andy if you want to try out

540PP - 550PP

Lexus LFA - 541PP
Lamborghini Gallardo - 546PP
Corvette Z06 - 542PP
Ferrari Scuderia - 548PP

Sure.

WUUHUU. AS A HOST I CAN NOW CHOOSE TO NOT ALLOW ABS!!! Haha that's awesome.

End of testing on my part. I could run 4-5 laps on sports soft on the Nordsleife, before my tires were completely gone. Sports hard appears to be able to run almost twice the laps. 1 lap on the Nordsleife with hard tires, and they weren't showing any wear at all. 2 laps should show about 5-10% wear.

Tried this selection out

Monza with Chicanes S/H Tyres

Mclaren MP12-C - 1'57.3
Ferrari 458 Italia - 1'58.2
Mercedes SLS - 1'58.3
Ford GT - 1'57.4
Lexus LFA - 1'58.2
F430 Scud - 1'59.3
Corvette ZR1 - 1'57.2

I havent had chance to try tyres out yet.

This sounds good regarding tyres, should put a little more realisum on the race.
As host you should be allowed to do what you want. Are we doing any practice for this, just let me know, sometimes Im not on GT planet, so miss posts.

Edit:
I read some of the posts about tyres and this is what I found today.
I was doing a 4 hour B Spec race on the ring, with a Zonda R car. To begin with I was using racing hard tyres, then I change to soft. I found they wore out quickly, a couple of laps and that was it.
