A Falcon 9 rocket from 2015 has been in orbit around the Earth will soon crash into the moon in a few weeks.

Notably:
Update - It's not a SpaceX Falcon 9 2nd stage apparently:

Just a few reminders that outer space is full of incredibly cool stuff we should continue to study.

Meanwhile, in Scotland...

Looks like there's a lot of demand to get this site up and running by year's end. Companies from the UK, Poland, Germany and US want to send stuff up from there in varying capacities.

And the Baikonur Cosmodrome might be seeing a lot less business in the near future, for obvious reasons.

Roscosmos are covering the flags of foreign partners on their rockets.
The Roscosmos director Dmitry Rogozin said:- "Launchers at Baikonur decided, that without some flags out rocket will look better."

Scott Kelly roasted him in russian by telling:- "Dimon, without those flags and money that they give, your space program doesn't worth an egg. Maybe find a job at McDonald's, if McDonald's still exists in Russia."

EDIT:

Rogozin: -"The Ukrainian president added that he also discussed cosmic (comic?) projects with Musk. He stressed that it would be possible to talk more about them after the war.

Yes, meet, roll a joint and talk about space.
It might make it easier."

Kelly: -"Dimon, I thought Russia blocked Twitter. Do you have a VPN or are you special?"

NASA is preparing to test its SLS rocket ahead of a planned uncrewed mission to the Moon this summer. Barring any major snafus, this puts everything on track for a crewed mission planned for 2024. Maybe then the moon rover rally missions from GT6 can finally become reality, eh? :dopey:

And despite everything happening groundside, at least we have one less thing to worry about...

Oh, and also... Happy 50th anniversary, Pioneer 10!

SpaceX is preparing to lift Starship 20 any minute now for possible stacking on booster 4. Edit: as I hit submit on this, its starting to go up.
