People are going a bit OTT with their wishful thinking again. The track has already been revealed on an official blog and it made no mention of a complex string or anything other than a huge oval. If there was a complex race track on the other side it would have been mentioned. It's a big oval (and possibly a small skidpan), that's it.

I agree with this, surely if there was anything more than an oval they would have said. They mentioned Kart Space having two layouts when they announced the first DLC, for example.

This.

Same goes for assuming that now we will be able to drag race on 400/1000m distance. I doubt it. I think that it will be possible only in speed test mode, not in "more than one car on a track" modes.

Still can't wait for testing and photoshoots :)

Yeah, but maybe we get some time splits on 400m, 1000m, etc... that would be good enough for more accurate drag racing. I think.

When I said "This" I was only wishful thinking. I know that Kaz wouldn't think about putting it in there, why? Because that would make to much sense. I think I speak on behalf of most (sorry if I step on some toes) of the fans of this game that we would rather have a test track that measures all aspects of your vehicle with cones, skid pad, drag strip, and other various challenges. That is why Complex String and the old skid pad was so cool and to take it out is absurd

Not just one big oval that is 30km.

I mean come on didn't someone at Sony say something about a stunt arena or something? And where the hell is Pikes Peak.

That is why people wish because deep down they know they are not getting what they want.

Exactly. I don't know why I'm seeing so many comments saying that they hope there's going to me more turns and what not. I mean it's already be confirmed that it's a big oval.

Not? They(?) didn't want it?
I don't see the point of using plural when you're talking about your own opinion.

Btw, officially DlCs every two months. Things need time, some people forget this nowadays.

I have an idea for this tracks 12k stretch.
8 X1s, ACRs and, Veyrons on one side.
8 X1s, ACRs and, Veyrons on the other side.
We could test what would happen if PD made the Hadron Collider.
Or recreate the 300 movies.....

Your post also inspired this thought ... what would be cool was if there were a team on each side, both travelling the same direction, that had to try and catch the other [much like professional indoor cycling] through the use of effective drafting and teamwork

Officially? Shall we go into what else was official but we didnt get? Like point to point course creator?

Time? Whats reasonable? 5 years for an unfinished game?!?!

Your argument is rather flawwed....

Now Im not saying what you say is wrong, Im just saying, if your going to have an argument or state something, be careful of what it is you say, and the words you use to say it because it can turn around against you...

If Route X does come without an online 1/4 mile race mode, it shouldn't be that hard for PD to do in an update. Just a thought...

And I also find it funny because now that we're getting a semi-proper drag track, all the drag racers are either quitting dragging or getting banned from this site!

Honestly, I already have a track that I can use to test my cars and set them up the way I want them handling wise. That it doesn't glurge statistics on me doesn't really bother me.

What I didn't have was a way to test how my cars accelerate and top out.

You're taking it a bit too literally ^^^^. Weird that you say it so angrily because Kaz "lied" in a good way about DLC releases.

Sounds awesome. I think that really might be for more advanced GT players, too.

haha I noticed that, too. About adding a drag mode through an update, that's actually, right.

Not exactly what happened with Kart Space, but still similar. People (me, too) were complaining that we couldn't drive cars on it.

Kaz never said it was official, I think he only said it would be released about every 2 months which isn't official. dr_slump used "official" in the wrong way. \/\/\/ PS Store updates are official.

True, we could be over our heads and expecting too much. However, there is nothing confirming that R-X is just an oval.

In fact, the "official" posts have been very vague about this upcoming update and dlc. There has been no official change log, we still haven't seen pictures of half the DLC cars and Route X has only been called Route X and all that has been said is it's a place to test your car. The only video of the track we have seen is the 12km straight.

Like I said, Space Empire said the Route X OVAL will be 30km. If it Route X was just an oval, why would he bother calling it Route X oval instead of just Route X?

Search for a silent place and calm down. All I see is a mad guy who better hadn't bought GT5.
It wasn't difficult to find out what we would get with GT5. If you don't like it, why did you buy it?
Nobody forced you to do that.

Agree on the last sentence. 👍

I figure it'll happen the same way it did with Kart Space, like you said. People will complain about it, and PD will take notice of it and address it in a quick update.

Er, not really. A lot of the things we found out GT5 was lacking was due to the leaked videos of the press copy that went up (and Sony had taken down) only a week or two before the game came out. If you missed those and bought the game at launch...

Never trust advertisements.

I wasn't surprised with GT5. I always want to know what I buy. :)

Im not mad, I just dont see why people cant put together a simple argument and use the appropriate words where appropriate...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On a seperate note...

I have GT5, had since shortly after release. Ive played it constantly since and love it. Yes, it does have its down points, but overall its possibly the best racing game to date. DLC, although great, doesnt really fuss me whether it comes or not, if it does, woo bonus. Updates, although they have a habit of causing glitches, the stuff they bring is great... Most of the time (racing suits, really?). What annoys me is when people expect all this stuff that PD "made official" but flame up and blame PD when it all goes wrong.

As said earlier, Kaz said he would "Try" to put out DLC every 2 months. That isnt official, thats just him saying what he hopes to achieve. Any money says the minute we go 3 months without DLC, you'll be in every "PD Hate thread" whinging and complaining because you didnt get what you thought you were told you would along with every other die-hard fanboy that hangs off the words of PD. Im not saying that you shouldnt, by all means if thats what you want to do, then so be it, Im just sick of seeing people whinge and whine about the bad and ignore whatever good we have, and from my opinion, there is lots of good in this game, its just people seem more hung up about the bad than the good.

So what if we dont get a drag strip or a complex ring-esque infield, we're getting 2 standards turned premium (anyone hear doors opening??), a brilliant testing area to test and more fine tune our cars, the absolutely stunning Lamborghini Aventador and an Aston Martin V12 Vantage. (I'll just ignore the leaf...) so why get hung up because we arent getting 2 features? Really, just accept what we get, find the good in it, and worry about the bad last.

I don't like that, you know. "be careful of what it is you say, or....." Or what?
Must I fear for my life?
Of course not, but you see what I mean. Call it appropriate.......

:)

Btw, I really like the new track. Finally something usefull for drag racing.
I'm happy!

Btw, it's not officially every two months. Please provide the link where it is official.

It may be my opinion but the option of having a way to drag race somebody has been asked for since GT2 so they have had plenty of time. In my opinion of course.

Edit: :) No need to reply all has already been said. LOL

The test track has been missed.

So are they going to show us a track map or any other details about this?! Or do we just buy it on speculation? The news page posted it again and saying "full details" but it was the same basic info that we already had.

Either way, tomarrow is the day! I guess I'll have to rely on user submitted screenshots or videos until I'm able to buy it.

Heck yeah, a day earlier than expected! I'm liking this new trend of earliness .
