SpeedART- Birthday Update!

To be honest, I think the reject shot is 100x better than your final entry. The car has been cleaned really well on the entry but the shot isn't original or exciting to me at all. The blur looks confused and out of place and the car looks really strange when half cast in shadow like that, as if no thought was put into the lighting.

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh but when I saw how brilliant your reject was and then saw this shot I was very disappointed. I still voted for it, but I wished that I was voting for the reject shot!

I know....Everytime I see it I sort of think "Why didn't I enter that reject shot? Just because I didn't like the colours being a bit too dull." The lighting as you said is pretty rubbish. Strange thing is last season of the tournament I entrered a similar shot to the style of this one in Round One. I didn't get through to Round 2 that time. You think I would have learned.

It's not harsh at all Mog, your just speaking your opinion which has always been fine with me. I am glad you still voted but I wish that the shot was better like the reject. Hopefully I can pull something even better of my sleeves this time for Round 2. Hopefully....

man the skyline and the elise look awesome!!!!!

Thanks jgda9rs!

I prefer the shot Speedster entered compared to his reject.

Thanks TVR&FF, glad you liked the final entry.

Gallery News & Update

Well it's been awhile, I'm having a tough time updating at the moment as well as entering competitions, etc. I have been incredibley busy recently which means I have had to put GT4 to the side for now. I have just entered one of the most important years of my life (well the teachers tell me that) and I really wasn't ready for it. It's a hell of alot more work than it was last year, its kinda a surprise for everyone in the same year as me I suppose. I'm not saying I am leaving, that would be silly, I will be updating less though. Concerning competitions I will try and enter as much as I can, but with atleast half my spare time now devoted to homework, it makes it difficult.

Anyway, here is my tournament entry. I will be carrying on with tournaments and if I do get knocked out this round then I will be sure to enter next time.

Enjoy.

Don’t worry, you are not the only one. Has the past week was still my first school week, I din’t have many home works, but from now on, it is going to be hard work and hard to enter the competitions too. And the top notch is that I will have exams in the last days of school (June). So I have to prepare myself.

Anyway and back to the topic. I really liked the shot, and was an Hard decision when deciding between your shot and NTX’s, because, I also liked NTX’s shot. Why I didn’t voted for your shot?

Well, it was more a personal taste. There was something on NTX’s shot that attract me to it, the soft look, the sense of speed, and what attract me more was the tail lights. In a so dark environment, with monotones dark colors, that red tail light makes the shot plain beautiful.

You shot had the car cleaning. The car was so well cleaned…God, how I would like to know how to clean cars like that. But it is a bit empty. Didn’t grab so much attention. There is something missing. Maybe because of the rims, but it needed something more strong.

I probably shouldn’t be comparing the shot here, but, it is just way I didn’t vote for your shot. But is a great shot though 👍

that's a really clean shot. the car looks very brand new. great lighting as well, but where was it taken ?
Tsukuba, the longest straightaway there is that place like 2/3 of the way on the straight.

@ Speedster: Are you sure you aren't getting help from someone? Hard to believe that this great work only came from one GT4 Photographer.

Yep, that shot its a very tough opponent to mine Speed!!! Your skills are really high, U really improved a lot recently!!!!:)

Now lets see how this battle ends:tup:

That lack of time has been obvious in the general quality of your last photos, and I understand that you want to think a time of rest. There are other much more important things in the life. 👍

Yeah I agree, I really was so mucked up with for time I didn't even edit more than one shot. So as soon as I completed that one I just sent it off. I probably somewhere in that mixture of orginals on my memory stick is a true winner, but I didn't find it. Thanks for your comment.

that's a really clean shot. the car looks very brand new. great lighting as well, but where was it taken ?

Thanks jgda9rs! The shot was taken (as Racerx510 says) down the Tsubuka straight. On the straight there is a area of Tarmac on the right hand side, I decided to pull into it just to see what I could get. Thanks for your comment!

Thanks for answering that. I promise I am not getting help from anyone these day's, I used to get some advice from people like Bram, but I sort have now continued on my own...Thanks for the comment!

I know, wasn't good enough though. I don't think the shot was that good compared to say that Mercedes SL65 shot I took awhile back. Good to see you win, it'll probably be my last tournament and I am proud to have got that far. Thanks for your comment.

That lack of time has been obvious in the general quality of your last photos, and I understand that you want to think a time of rest. There are other much more important things in the life. 👍

Yeah, there was a complete lack of time. Thanks for your comment though.

Great work speed:tup:, that is a very clean shot, I love the angle as well, I haven't seen any like that before.
Looks like your comp win totals are going to start raising again:tup:

cheers

Thanks for your comment Tommi. I do hope my comp wins increase but with me not being as intrested in GT4 at the moment, I highly doubt it...Anyway thanks for your comment.

unbelievable. i thought it would of been somewhere in europe or something.

Really? I didn't think there were many tracks from Europe on GT4. I am starting to wish I took the car to Europe though so then I could of entered NC. Sadly I didn't though. Thanks for your comment though!

Blue Sky
Well here is an update which has been a looong time in the making. Its a Lotus Elise 111R which as some of you may have remembered was remixed by Moglet ages ago. I've kept it under wraps since then and just took the cover off to show you all. One of my favourite parts of this shot is the sky, so thats why the update is called "Blue Sky". The panel I put quite a bit of work into as well. I hope you enjoy both the panel and the shot!

Enjoy.

Hey, speeds. :)

You kinda killed the tarmac with all the noise, and the part near the camera shoud have a focal blur.
But sky looks good, and the car although a bit too soft, is very very clean. Lovely yellow tone, very lively.

EDIT: I hope I didn't spook you on our msn chat, sorry. 👍

Yay!, I was wondering when you was going to put the final version of this up:), Its a very colourful shot which has really brightened up my crap- weathered day!👍.
I'd have to agree with Beerz on the noise problem, I think it ruins the shot, it looks too unrealistic and out of place. But apart from that its great:tup:

cheers

Tommi:D

Very, very cool indeed!!! Very vivid!!! Great camera!!! But like Beerz said...maybe the tarmac should have less noise. I also think the sky is good looking:tup:

Keep up your good work mate:tup:

very refreshing! the sky looks great. i'm not gonna comment on the road surface anymore as i'm sure you've heard enough of it. but the car looks a bit soft, though it looks very clean. the taillights have a realistic touch to them. great color combinations too. they all compliment each other. awesome work on the panel. i hope to make stuff like that someday. i've already done my first, but it's nothing like what you do here.
hope to see more soon!

Thanks for your comment guys its much appreciated! I completely agree with the noise aspect and it was quite a considerably big mistake. The only reaon for the excessive noise was that was my first ever noise shot. I kept it for ages though until I figured out how to clean better. Anyway thanks again.

As you can probably tell, I'm not in a GT4 mood as such anymore. I haven't been on GT4 since I went out of the tournament. It's a shame really. I do have a couple of updates under wraps but I would never call them "super". Ones hopefully from PGR4 (courtesy of TVR&FF) but I need to check with a mod to see if it is okay for a one off special. Then I plan to revist some of my older shots and hopefully make them better. Anyway thats the plan, lets hope it falls in place like that.

I am still waiting on the scenery shot in the 2.0 comp., guess I won’t see it…. :guilty:

I mean I can have a rumage around the hard drive to find a scenery shot but I highly doubt it. :(

rock 'em if you got 'em. i guess we all need a break every once in a while. but i'd be excited to see some of your old shots remastered. would be cool.

Aston Martin DBS - PGR4

Well here it is, a one off update to do with PGR4, the shots were courtesy of TVR&FF which his versions can be found here. I must admit I didn't have to do much too these, they were already very clean before I even touched them! I only added some other effects such as zoom blur, noise, guassian blur etc. I also had to use a certain brush on the wet zoom shot which replicated a tire spray which I might use again as it came out quite well! As I said this is a one off update and I also need to thank Daan for allowing me to post this in my gallery. So enjoy, and don't forget some Topgear inspired updates shouldn't be too far around the corner using GT4. Anyway enjoy!

Enjoy.

I can't imagine what some GTP God could do with the graphic quality of PGR and Forza...

The last image is plenty of beauty. The car doesn't seem to match the envorinment but it's good.
