Fun set of cars to race....
Was a good clean event....
Minimal sketchyness
Very proper racing

I do have to say that I feel bad for Alex and how people couldn't see him - takes the fun out of things for him ...and equally important, how much fun the hello kitty car was going to be... I hope a future patch takes care of things online.

I will have to just vent and voice frustration in my level of enjoyment of the evening... It was my understanding some tuning of the car was possible as long as it met the PP/HP/weight restrictions.
I do use traction control as well as skid recovery as part of my tunes. Others may not but it is as important as tires or suspension in my tunes. This is why I had difficulty in the last main event - I use these tuning aids in my builds. It was not mentioned in ANY post that these were not going to be permissibe. So to spend a couple weeks getting a car dialed in and happy and working appropriately with certain tire combinations that are part of an entire race strategy - to not be allowed to race what I brought, which was 100% legal, did detract from my buzz and the event.

As is always the case here at team vodka - we have a support group in the bottle I'm about to crawl into... But for future events a complete revamp of event restrictions is required.

Enjoy the snow - as you can imagine my skid recovery was part of my tune as well...

Until we rub paint again...

~Ole

Sorry about your frustration with the regulations.
Next time I'll specifically state that everyone needs to review page 83 for the latest details on the race.
One month ago it was clearly stated that driving aids would be limited to ABS only. Sorry if you couldn't find page 83.

I along with mazda hold practice sessions which have the regulations build into the practice sessions. It is advisable to everyone to take full advantage of them.

Again I'm sorry for the miscommunications. Hopefully Team Vodka will take a more proactive role in ensuring their driver is well prepared for the race.

thank you Ole...!!!!!

sure it was kinda piss off for me as i started at pole and had a very clean 1st corner and 1st lap.

Mazda was right behind me at 2nd and I know he doesn't see me so I try to keep a distance from him and everything was fine until lap 3(i think)

I made a mistake at corner 7 thus he caught up at corner 8, but because my car wasn't on his screen... I got a T-bone....

found myself on the grass looking at the guardrail... i had to reverse myself back onto the track while seeing the pack passing in my mirror...

I was 11th place.... some 20+ sec behind the leader....

work myself up to 7th....

then I found myself back to 4th at the end of 2nd stint... great...

and climb to 2nd @ 23rd lap... things were starting to look good for me......

at lap 27 I found myself @ 1st because Gordon was in pitted but I also have to pit in 2 laps....

trouble came again at the beginning of lap 29.....

OB... another driver who couldn't see me.. came out from the pit right in front of me.... swirling from curb to curb in front of me and we were actually glued together into turn 3 while my car was pushed side-way by him...

anyway... i was lucky i was still able to keep my 1st... but FAN was all over my back

big trouble came in on lap 34......

found myself behind OB again...this time I keep saying on the mic.. "OB... outside... outside...."

doesn't work.... at all.....

so I have to slow down to his pace til corner 8... barely passed him...

between corner 8 and 9.... that short straight....

I got pushed by OB... like those police-maneuver....

this time..... i was doing a side way for about 15ft.... then a 360....

i lost so much time and most importantly... tires wear....

FAN was closing up and I wasn't able to defend my 2nd because of the worn tires.....

oh well....

I blame nobody here... but PSN for such a ****ty network system~~!!!!!

but on the other hand... not bad for myself...

Pole Position

Climb from 11th to 2nd

fastest lap: 1:15.228

where's the beer~~~??

Ok, gentlemen.
Thank you for participating in the Fall, Winter, Snow bird Main Event.
I was surprised by the different tire/pit strategies there were.

For now relax. Casual Nights are scheduled until November 20th.

In closing, don't throw away your Miatas. I'll put something together that is more enjoyable or they could be used on a Casual night.

Ok, again Congrates to the winners.

You three individuals will have first pickings for car in the November 20th Grand Event at the Nurburgring GP/F circuit.
Gordon will chose first and so on down the line. However you guys can't pick the same car.

Now to make it perfectly clear. All Teams and drivers are required to review page 83 for the latest developments on upcoming races. That page is for you not the fans in the stands or the news media or the beer vendors or the ex-wives or the future wives or the...... read it. Save it as a favorite.

Hopefully this weekend for those who are bored.
There will be a casting call for filming the trailer for the Nov 20th race at the Nurburgring.

Again page 83 has the list of cars that will be allowed in the race.

Stay tuned.

Can you clarify how choosing of cars will work? Will the cars that the podium finishers pick be off-limits to the rest of the field?

It was awesome, and I realize I was catching you quickly so I knew your tires were in a bad state, but I was able to run 1:16 consistently even when my tires were down to 6/7, so I knew I just needed to bide my time. All in all it was a great event, minimal controversy lol and great driving.

It was pretty bad at the end cos I was forced to run the 11-laps stint on my last set due to the 1st incident with O.B.

I was actually able to maintain a good gap between you plus I was slowly gaining on Gordon, and I know my rubber was fresher than his too....

and all that ended at lap 34 when the 2nd incident with O.B.

but yeah, I knew you have better tires than me cos you were catching up quickly and I got stuck behind O.B. again before you really on my tail....

and those couple laps with you... hahahaa.... I really had to squeeze out whatever I have to defend my line, I bet you saw how badly I have to drive thus give you no room...

that was tough but that was FUN..!!!!

:cheers::cheers::cheers:

Was O.B racing or he was just a moving barrier?! Cause I had some problems with him too! I had better momentum, but he wouldn't give it up... at one point I almost got out of the track cause I got pushed away!

Well anyways I know he didn't do it on purpose tho cause it was a really hard and tough race... in my opinion this was more mentally brutal then SUZUKA!

Time to practice for the new event cause Tiger's Main events are not as easy as they look

he didn't see me on his screen, thus to me he is an offensive moving object...:lol:

Ole
sorry for my vent session about the TC - It was my fault for not seeing the ABS only on the event sheet...
team vodka is easily confused sometimes...

will have to rework some of my fav tunes to work without these aids...

off to rehab...

prolly too much vodka for you guys, I remember Tjger actually has posted it once about different regulation on Causal Race, Main Event and Grand Event, what's allowed and what's not allowed.

maybe Tjger can post it again but make sure you read it when sober...:lol::lol:

I couldn't see you in the Miata race or the snow rally. Fortunately I don't think we were ever close to each other at Autumn Ring. I have no idea where you were in the snow race, hopefully not involved in my battle with smcinnis or I would have been bumping you all over the place.

:lol::lol:

I saw you in both races...

but luckily for me I didn't have any trouble passing you in the Miata race 👍

and I also has no trouble with you in the snow race cos I was so far behind you.:lol::lol:

Almost had you at the end, I don't know what happen to you but you were losing speed and I was gaining on you fast!
Good race & specially at the begging when it was you VS Mallet

I managed to hold off Mallet the first 5-6 laps, so happy about that. Then I started losing concentration, and I tend to crack when being pressured.:embarrassed:

I knew if I got the lead I would be able to see where I was going & try to pull away.
Patient, yet extremely tense, pursuit ensued for 6 laps while I felt like my eyes were going to fall out of my skull.
Right at the end of lap 6 you strayed just slightly so I leaped forwards to the imaginary bar in front of you, kicked back in the driver's seat, opened a beer & admired the views.
If I hadn't relaxed I would have made mistakes & you would have taken it. My lap times dropped by 0.8 seconds once I had a beer in my hand & were more consistent too.

So remember to chill out in the snow guys!

Ok, gentlemen.

The podium winners will each pick a car.
They can not pick the same car. So start nagging the winners to make their choice(s) quickly.

After that everyone will JUMP at the opportunity to grab a car. Again only two cars at a time. So only two BMW GTRs.
Only two Opel Astras, only two Mercedes CLK, and so on.

The cars are too close in competition to each other. So the chooses could be up to a driver's personal preference.

If you have the winners on your FR list. Start bugging them NOW.

gordonnation first
FAN_Lawless second
alexmavis third.
