Ok, gentlemen while we wait for OBs desire to not participate in next weeks Grand Event.
Let's press on.
You could call it a smaller version of the full circuit. Curbs of varying heights, slow sections, rise and falls in elevation, and most importantly, a narrow track. Your car's suspension setup will be key to success. Brakes, yes. Passing is limited and must be planned wisely. The main straight, the section leading down to the hairpin, and the section leading to the tight chicane and final corner.
The other sections need to be respected. If you find yourself battling with another driver going into a tight corner. Back off and use the opportunity to position and battle after the corner.
Last Night I battled a little too hard with FAN_Lawless at the tight chicane and the last corner.
Bad sportsmanship. 👎 I took him out, let him pass me and then knocked him out going onto the main straight.
This is one reason why I encourage everyone to participate in these mini race sessions. To increase your racing skills and knowledge of the track. Hopefully Casual Night will include another short race. If not I'm sure another one will be planned.
Ok, enough blah, blah, from me.
My preview of the race.
Tires, tires, tires. Last night everyone's lap times were slow for the first 4-5 laps. Tire temperatures?? Manage your tires. Don't expect to run off after changing tires. Pit stops? I don't have a clue what you guys will do. In fact my team doesn't either. So don't get startled if you see someone pitting. You need to stick to your plan and be able to adjust if the opportunity presents itself. Practice driving into the pits. Following another car can be a smart move. Use their car to conserve your tires.
Yes the BMWs are quick.
The Audi TT-Rs are also quick.
The Audi A4 is also quick.
In fact all the cars are quick. Especially in the right hands of a smart driver. So don't get discouraged if you find yourself out of the top ten. A small mishap at the front and your back in race.
One thing you need to take away from this race. An understanding about what makes this circuit so special.
The Nurburgring Grand Prix/Formula One circuit.
