Hey, I really would like to ask for the help of the Spinning Arrows club. I am working on a video that needs replays of the Chaparral 2D (I'll handle the 2J) racing other historic race cars from ~1965-1967. Think you guys can help me organize a lobby for that?

As you know, I won't be around much for a while. I can be on in about 10 hours or so though (3pm GMT or more likely a bit later). I believe the car costs about 3 or 4 million? So let me know if that's a good time & if so I'll grind half an hour on the Red Bull Standard for credits (I think I have just under 2 million at present).

Mallet, why don't you go enjoy what it is that'll be keeping you off of your PS3? I understand the time differences and reading this, I missed your deadline.

I can check and see if I have any historic racing cars in my garage...

I'll try tonight. I was referring to the 24 hours at Daytona :lol:

No wait a minute. Maybe it was the Miata race at Autumn Ring. No that's not right either. :dunce:

Yeah Suzuka, yeah that's ..not it either.

Ahh, Ok I'll make up a race real quick. Everyone show up and we'll drive that thingy that goes vroom , vroom.

Hey Nugget,
welcome to the thread. You'll find so much info here and although you really don't need it, you'll see that these guys are always open to helping other members out with tuning type issues. Great way to keep in touch with everyone also. As an example, Mallett, who is over in the UK, will not be able to race with us for a while but he will still be keeping track and keeping up with the latest info via this website. Great source of info.
See ya on the track!

If nugget is interested. There is one more slot left in our Grand Event.
Check out my signature.

Monday night around 9:00PM there will be another practice session followed by a short 15 minute race.
Make sure you're on mazda3pro Friend's list.

And I need help with tuning FFs. So I'm looking into using a SERA instead of the SUV, and I'm having all sorts of trouble with the stupid thing understeering on AND off the gas, and it's ruining my lines. The car is geared as much towards oversteer as possible...Send a private message for the set-up.

Hey everyone, I'll be hosting a private lobby for classic race cars. I'll be using the 2D and the 2J.

Ok, gentlemen while we wait for OBs desire to not participate in next weeks Grand Event.

Let's press on.

:gtpflag::gtpflag:The Nurburgring GP/F circuit.:gtpflag::gtpflag:

You could call it a smaller version of the full circuit. Curbs of varying heights, slow sections, rise and falls in elevation, and most importantly, a narrow track. Your car's suspension setup will be key to success. Brakes, yes. Passing is limited and must be planned wisely. The main straight, the section leading down to the hairpin, and the section leading to the tight chicane and final corner.

The other sections need to be respected. If you find yourself battling with another driver going into a tight corner. Back off and use the opportunity to position and battle after the corner.

Last Night I battled a little too hard with FAN_Lawless at the tight chicane and the last corner.

Bad sportsmanship. 👎 I took him out, let him pass me and then knocked him out going onto the main straight.

This is one reason why I encourage everyone to participate in these mini race sessions. To increase your racing skills and knowledge of the track. Hopefully Casual Night will include another short race. If not I'm sure another one will be planned.

Ok, enough blah, blah, from me.
My preview of the race.
Tires, tires, tires. Last night everyone's lap times were slow for the first 4-5 laps. Tire temperatures?? Manage your tires. Don't expect to run off after changing tires. Pit stops? I don't have a clue what you guys will do. In fact my team doesn't either. So don't get startled if you see someone pitting. You need to stick to your plan and be able to adjust if the opportunity presents itself. Practice driving into the pits. Following another car can be a smart move. Use their car to conserve your tires.

Yes the BMWs are quick.
The Audi TT-Rs are also quick.
The Audi A4 is also quick.

In fact all the cars are quick. Especially in the right hands of a smart driver. So don't get discouraged if you find yourself out of the top ten. A small mishap at the front and your back in race.

One thing you need to take away from this race. An understanding about what makes this circuit so special.

 The Nurburgring Grand Prix/Formula One circuit.

I'll just withdraw because a week, for me, isn't enough time to grab a 155 or E90 and tune it to my driving style.

you were actually having 4 weeks to prepare for this week, not 1 week.

I am wondering, while you were posting in here about tuning DTM for others, you don't have time to tune one for yourself...???

C'mon OB buddy, show us you can drive other than that washing maching...!!!!

Just ask Lawless, he has my tune.

Edit: The reason I said a week is because I sold my Alfa 155 last Saturday.

Edit edit: Just somehow got another 155. Looks like I'm in.

Even if you don't feel like you've nailed your tune, race for the practice & experience. You can still enjoy it if you don't finish as high as you'd like to & you'll learn something every time. 👍

Gladly.

However-It seems I've an enemy now by the name of Gordonation.

Edit: Benchmark time on RH tires: 2:02.870
