Hey, guys. Since GT7 and P.Cars are around the corner, I was wondering about a few things...Like maybe trading in my Xbox One for a PS4.

So what kind of equipment and things do I need to get better at online racing?

And what kind of TV do you guys use?

1) PS4
2) a copy of P.C. and GT7
3) a T300 steering wheel
4) 27" or 32" HD TV (size depends on the distance between the tv and your eyes)
5) comfortable driving position.

Hey guys,

In anticipation of Project CARS and being compatible with PS4, I've recently took the plunge and upgraded to a T300RS set (after using the "Die-Hard-G25" for more than 8 years! lol) The new wheel is very nice and the fact that I now have more than two dinky wheel buttons to map my controls is awesome.

As much as I like the new wheel though, the stock pedals set that comes with it is subpar in my opinion. In particular the brake pedal is giving me a lot of trouble during threshold braking, where tiny modulation and easing-off are required. The spring that holds the brake pedal just isn't hard enough for my taste.

With that, I've ordered the T3PA pedal upgrade set, which has an adjustable rubber stopper behind the brake pedal to fine-tune progressiveness during hard braking. Unfortunately,.... this upgrade set is in such high demand that I won't be receiving it until early April... :((((((

I did come across this tutorial yesterday that shows how to add a DIY rubber stopper to the stock pedal set, for cheap too. The feedbacks on their forum seem very positive, so I'll give this method a try and hopefully can ease my frustration while waiting for the T3PA to arrive.

Thought I'd share for those using the T300 set.

Cheers :)

Polar Bear Official: We've just finally made it to Belgium after a "retooling" of our team of strategists after what happened in Tokyo as well as replaced our press representative. Initial tests using the Daytona setup on the BMW show to be fairly fast but "terribly sketchy on the first lap" according to our driver. Nissan and Chevrolet reps were milling about outside the team trailer and some men in Audi clothing were spotted randomly around the track. Contract negotiations are looking to be difficult for this race.

I appreciate the advice! Right now, though, I don't quite have the room for a T300 or a racing seat so I'll start saving for those for another time. I'm still thinking about the Xbox switch, and maybe I'll leave it to a coin toss...Then again, I could get P.Cars on the Xbox and report back to you guys about it.
Either way, I'm going to pre-order it.

Now to go find a two-headed coin to decide on Xbox or PS4.

I believe you have to stick with the same vehicle in Daytona.

:)

it's your option to order the P.C. for chic-box, the thing is if you are going for GT7, why waste money on the chic-box?

sell the chic-box, focus on the GT6 for now...

here's what you should do in sequence:

1) sell the chic-box and focus on GT6
2) save up and get a T300
3) mount the wheel on a desk or whatever, you don't need a race-rig if on budget
4) save up and get a PS4
5) buy a copy of GT7
6) Get a wheel-stand or race-rig

Ok, gentlemen. This update brings some interesting things with it.
One. All your saved events in the Open Lobby are gone. The Community Lobby saves are fine.

Two. The graphics seem to move faster giving you a better sense of speed. I'm sure you guys will try it out tonight.

Three. The cars now feel like they are 'sitting' on the track. Tire squeal is a lot less. So drag your cars back in the garage and break out the wrenches again.

Just tried the GT-R and it's very lacking in power. It handles awesome, but it simply won't do under a 2:19, those long uphill straightaways kill it. My best in it is a 2:19.009 and there isn't a whole lot left in it. Audi is up next.

please keep up updated buddy

👍👍

How much testing with the other cars have you done?
This new 1.16 update is changing everything.

I did the did the update before any testing so this should be what you guys would feel too. Did the Z4 first and it felt by and large the same as on daytona, stable on fast corners and sketchy on slower ones. The GT-R lost some low speed cornering but that could be the slight physics change. I haven't gotten very far with the Audi yet and the others are untouched so far. I will post more info as I get through the cars.

Good advice here.....to add to that... you will need a comfortable seat/chair to actually make good use of the wheel. Having a comfortable driver position is key .... its also one of the reason why i suffer in the enduro races as my position for driving is not the best nor is it comfortable.

So if mounting to a desk make sure you have good leg room for your pedals so it feels more natural as well as a comfortable seat that you can spend a few hours in without feeling like you have been sitting in a quarry.

Another update in my testing so far, the Audi is insane. Straight up nuts, 3.5 seconds faster than the GT-R and a full 2 faster than the Z4 with a decent tune on it. I hopped into the SLS and got similar times to mphile's but I was in the higher 2:17s instead of the low end. The actual Audi time was 2:15.591, I might have the weight a little bit wrong but not nearly that much adrift.

Nice to hear you

Which Audi? Oreca? That one seemed fasted of the 3 I tested.
