An update has been added to the upcoming special event page (post #2183). Please have a look before doing any further testing on your vehicles.

SAC management sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused, although we do feel that this will be best for the team and the event as a whole.

I'll sit out, then. I don't have any good road car tunes.
you still have plenty of time to tune something. I haven't even selected a single car let alone tuned one. I haven't even been able to get to my PS3 in a while and for all I know, I may not have any cars that are even close to being able to compete in this race at this time.

ok fellers,
The agenda for the upcoming casual night is below. Enjoy!

1. 520-540PP limit - The club will vote for track as well as specific PP limit within these parameters. I have a way.
2. 600-620PP limit - The actual PP limit will be determined by the last place finisher of the previous race. Vote For Track.
3. 490-525PP limit - same as 2 above.
4. one make. The car is TBD but will be a relatively low to mid PP car with 5 laps around Laguna Seca.
5. 545-570PP limit. 1st place finisher from one make race picks track and specific PP limit within these parameters.
6. 570-599PP limit. club votes for track AND exact PP.
7. 621-640PP limit. last place finisher picks exact PP limit. VFT
8. In memory of one of my recent little vacations there will be a Daytona Challenge - This will be a 10 lap race with rolling start and heavy damage. This must be run clean or its pitsville, Daytona style. Fortunately that doesn't mean the end of the race as there will most likely be a few heading into the pits.
9. 650PP limit. now we're running with the big boys. Daytona WINNER decides this track!
10. 550PP road car race. VFT and road cars only with no prototype, race cars or concept cars.
11. 550PP limit prototype and concept cars only!!!
12. 600PP limit race cars only and VFT.
Anything beyond this point will be VFT and vote for PP if time allows.

Some of these were intentionally left a little vague to keep in line with casual night so there's not too much preparing to be done with the exception of the Daytona challenge and the specific PP limit races at the end of the night.

I won't be on much for the next 2 weeks so I'll probably miss a couple of Spinning Arrows nights. Looks like work will be getting in the way. I'll be keeping an eye on the thread though for entertainment purposes.
@Obelisk I saw you were ahead of me in the WSR F3 seasonal so I've improved a bit & set you a time to beat if you're interested. @Benny44 I saw you were on there so get involved too if you wish, your blue line was storming it up until the final chicane.

That took me two hours to tune.
The F3? I needed low acceleration sensitivity for my X button accelerator. Oil change & rigidity improvement too.

Edit: I don't know much at all about doing my own tune so I tried different things from the tunes on here.

Good thing I bought A LOT of cars then... Ok I guess I will be heading back to the garage! :gtpflag:

That's a shame. Not even going to try.

January 15th 2015, a Thursday, will mark the 1 year Anniversary of this club.
tarkus1 started this club with the hopes that folks would join, race, socialize, and have fun. Some have stayed some have left. Those who have left have taken our ideas on having fun and used them to start other clubs, leagues or casual nights. Our thread is watched by a lot of gtplanet members. You'd be surprised.

One thing this club has is a great selection of drivers with a large interest in motorsports. Those that have stayed have learned a lot about racing. Most have also improved their racing skills and have a greater understanding of what it takes to be competitive.

Everyone is willing to help their fellow S.A.C. member.

So if you need help in choosing a car and tuning it. Raise your hand. 💡

As far as driving road cars. I understand. I can't drive the damn things either. I can't figure out how to turn off that damn DVD, CD, MP14 player or whatever you kids call it. 🤬 Race cars don't have kiddie seats and they don't have mufflers.

So consider yourself lucky. You're part of a great group of racers. You still have time to prepare. Don't give up and don't sit this one out. ;)

:gtpflag:

I'm actually just considering what car to use. Should I stick with a budget Japanese sedan/sports car, or should I spring for the more expensive tuner cars?

Check out mazdas room.
Around 9ish EST he will host a practice session for anyone who wants some track time.
As far as car. Take a look at any of the cars with 4WD/AWD. You get an extra set of tires working for you.

My chose from the first Tour of Japan.

there's so many things that Tjger has said above that we should all remember but one thing I want to emphasize is that most SAC member are always here to help with many things including tuning. If anyone needs help with anything, just ask. We're here to have fun and to me, having fun is a big battle for ??th place with a group of friends on the last lap while we're all giving each other some crap (in a good way of course). Remember that horn Manny? Racing in a tight race with you guys is awesome and that's what its all about.

100% agree on that!

My favorite Quote is : "Hey Tarkus look back" OR "Who is Chasing you Tarkus?" = (He looks back)

I think my favorite thing in the SAC is when everyone starts grinding their transmissions in an attempt to block my 2J from winning.

It's just fun because of the environment it's in. Nobody is really competiting to win, but everyone has fun.

There you go RMedia, now you understand what we are all about... To have a good time.

NOW!! If you are looking for competition just WAIT when one of OUR GRAND EVENTS comes!! That's when you put your skills to the test! Too bad you didn't attempt the SUZUKA GT500 event (I know you are not in to the GT Class)

Sniff, sniff, Do I smell a Grand Event.
The true test of planning, patience, discipline, quick thinking, and endurance.
Drivers are mentally and physically challenged to perform at their best.

You can't win a race if you don't finish the race. Something like that.....I forget. :dunce:

Ok, enough blah, blah, blah.
