After melbourne, I was nearly convinced that F1 stood for
FERRARI 1:( , not FORMULA 1.

After the Malaysian GP, Its not the case yet.
Monty could have finished very close to MS if not for Rubens.

I've been reading that JPM was complaining about this. That is racing. Ruben's job (or Micheal's if he is ever behind Rubens) is to hold someone like JPM back. Now ther eis a fine line between blatantly blocking (like Webber did to Alonso) and making it difficult for someone to pass you. I don't think Rubens was holding JPM up. Maybe at the start or after the pit stop, JPM is amazing on cold tires or those sorta damp/cold tires deals. After that the Ferrari was lightyears ahead of JPM. I doubt JPM could ever of really challenged Schumi.

That is racing. Teams like Ferrari have team orders and do these sorta things. Teams mis managed like Williams with two drivers who want to kill each other....well.....you get the idea.

I thought the 04 Malaysian GP was one of the best GPs I have seen in years. The first few laps were edge of your seat as was the end...even the middle stints we full of things going on.

2 points.

What did Rubens do wrong?

Why wasn't JPM crawling all over the back of Rubens before the Ferrari pitted?

Rubens did nothing wrong. He was in the right place at the right time for Ferrari, and the wrong place at the wrong time for Williams. JPM seemed to give up at that point.

yup!

Well, it looks like Schumi did it again. Alonso came in 6th, and scored 8 points, giving Renault a third place factory rating.

Did you see Alonso take off on the start? That was good

Finally Button got his first podium.

JPM needs to know how to manage tyres. Sure he was catching up but after a while his tyres gave up and Schumi took off again

Poor poor Mark Webber

Barrichello is a very good driver. Just only when he wants to be.

hahahaha...that is one of the best lines about Rubens ever! Thanks for almost making soy milk come out of my nose (I'm eating cereal)...

:-)

Looking at fastest times for Sepang, things look a bit more competitive than after Melbourne. It would be interesting to see where Alonso would be if he was not in caught in traffic for most of the race. Big surprise to see a McLaren in front of a Ferrari...

This makes some teammates look very bad...

1) JP Montoya Williams 1:34.223 Lap 28
2) M Schumacher Ferrari 1:34.819 Lap 6
3) J Button BAR 1:34.967 Lap 28
4) J Trulli Renault 1:35.039 Lap 12
5) K Räikkönen McLaren 1:35.156 Lap 12
6) R Barrichello Ferrari 1:35.350 Lap 7
7) R Schumacher William 1:35.607 Lap 10
8) T Sato BAR 1:35.679 Lap 13
9) D Coulthard McLaren 1:35.852 Lap 26
10) F Alonso Renault 1:35.888 Lap 7
11) O Panis Toyota 1:35.951 Lap 23

I didn't say what Rubens did was wrong:rolleyes:

I meant that if RB was not there in front of JPM, ........Jpm would be closer to MS.

The problem is that the Williams used it's tires up quickly. JPM is amazing on cold tires or the sorta half damp/sketchy conditions that were at the start of the race. But he also can be overly agrressive and use up his tires quickly. Combine this with how the Williams is seemingly a tire killer and you have a recipe for one or two super quick laps in JPM's hands, then the car falls of.

You saw this that at the start of JPM's stints he would be making up alot of time on Schumi...but would drop off quickly. JPM has said he was cruising at the end of the race. I doubt it, I think it was more he had nothing left to give and couldn't pressure schumi.

Look at Ralphie's times and you get a better sense of the William's true pace (same with Rubens) JPM and Schumi are in a league of their own.

If it wasn't for JPM's quick hands and aggressive style he would have not even been remotely near Schumi.

button did well only a tenth of schumacher. The race did give me hope for the season. but dont exspect williams to get on terms with ferrari until the european part of the season starts.

I can't see into the future. But I see Webber driving for McLaren for some reason

same here....but as long as schuie is in the team i dont want weber in there. he doesnt deserve to be treated as a 'second' driver. a team like williams or mclaren should be good for him...hopefully williams NEXT YEAR

I hope (and think) that Webber will be at Williams next year and I think in a few seasons will we see a Championship contender.

Don't rule Dixon out though. He's already got to 4 tenths of Ralph and that was just a warm-up and get the feel for the car session. His main test is in Barcelona. Hope they fix the Gear Box for him in that test. Alonso might even get a drive for them.
