Pfft, it's not that hard :sly:

I gave the Suzuki Cappucino a shot before and hit ~315km/h. Also I had a try with the Mazda 110S and got 373km/h, which will be around the highest speed for under 1000cc.

Um...doesn't that have an engine bigger than 1000cc?

^its a rotary so it does have a smaller engine-the rx-7 should be dissallowed as I think it is under 1000cc.

No, the RX-7 has a twin-rotary engine. Each rotary is the equivalent of 652cc. 652cc x 2 = 1,304cc.

Hey mcsqueegy do you have any tips for me on how to reach over 300 KM/H in my diahatsu copen? I can only get it up to about 303 km/h max but I'm sure it can go a fair bit further. I lFully tuned it then lowered it fully, played with the gears a bit and turned all the aids off, I'm using the highest nos setting and hitting the nos about halfway round the corner. I hit about 285 just before the underpass but still I only gather enough momentum to get up to 300-ish. I figured you'd be the man to ask just from looking at your sig.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Cougar23

EDIT: Does anybody have or know where we can find a list of all sub 1000 cc Cars? Thanks.

If you're able to give me an idea of what settings you're using, and which Copen, I can see how much room for improvement there is 👍

Also, you can see a list of all the sub-1000cc cars over here, with the top ones being the best choice. I recently hit 318km/h in my Cappucino, and 334km/h in my Honda Beat

I'm using the Diahatsu Copen Detachable Top with:
S2's
Fully Tuned (NOS, no LSD)
Aids off
Highest NOS Setting
Lowest Ride Height etc. etc.

I'll leave the rest up to you to see how far you can get it.

I'm going to go and try a few other cars and wait to see how you go.

Cheers, Cougar23

EDIT: If anybody has any time, I'd like to see what other's can do with the Caterham Seven. Mine seems to be really weird like when I get on the back straight it basically dies and drops right down to about 240km/h. It's fully tuned on S2's with NOS and the best I've got so far is about 330 km/h.

Thanks.

Sweet LancerEvo. I'll try R5's on the Caterham and when I get a chance I'll try out the Suzuki Cappucino to compare where I'm at compared to mcsqueegy.

Indeed the R5's help on the Caterham. The problem you were suffering was that the nitrous was causing wheelspin with S2's, slowing it down. With R5's, it could do close to 400km/h...

Edit: It does over 400km/h! :mischievous:

And don't forget that the racing exhaust causes an enormous drop in power on the Caterham; a semi-racing exhaust gives you about sixty more horsepower, if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the tips guys. I changed to R5's and a semi-racing exhaust but still can only get to 350km/h. I haven't tried downforce yet (can you even get a wing on a caterham?).
My sister is on the Ps2 now but I'll check it out later. Mcsqueegy would you mind givin us some base setting's for the caterham if it's not too much trouble for you? It would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure it's just a little setting that I've got set wrong or the gearing isn't quite right but it's annoying the hell out of me. I feels like it want's to go really fast when accelerating through the gear's but still when I hit the back straight it's revs drop dramatically. Mcsqueegy could you also give me an indication of where you are hitting nos, flooring it etc.

I can't remember the gearing offhand, but here's my suspension setup... and you can't get a wing for this car.

Spring rate: 5.0/3.8
Ride height: 90/50
Damper bound: 5/5
Damper rebound: 5/5
Camber angle: 0.0/0.0
Toe angle: -4/4
Stabilisers: 5/5

I'm hitting the nitrous about halfway through the corner. That should get you over 400km/h if your gearing is good. Mine is surprisingly fast for 290bhp

I tuned the Caterham last year, reaching 460-470 Km/h

:scared:

I'm getting just over 450 at the moment, so I should be able to find a bit more if I'm lucky... I'm only using 4 gears, dunno if it's the best choice. Aside from that, a typical RWD setup.

:ouch: I completely forgot about the Caterham. Alrighty.....I'm willing to let you all have up to 1307cc then, I'll up the limit. ;) Hopefully that allows a few more cars to be used. 👍

*added bit*

Umm, no. It's 654cc. ;) Multiply that and get back to me. :P

But then cars Kei cars like the Storia X4, the other Sirion's (which are 990cc/3cyl), and a few others like that wouldn't have had a chance to compete. :)

That 450 might just be right, I may remember a bit wrong as I remember I did the run using MHP and reaching 286 something.
I lost the setup then, but kept remembering that I could never again match the speed I had done back then in the Caterham.

SVX asked me to call off the Supra challenge, let's get this done so MTN stops complaining!
Hey, I've been more than ready now that my supra has a new tune but SVX does'nt want to do it for now i don't know why. But i wil have a talk with him.

^It hasn't been that from the start or anything ;)

mazdaman, since we'll probably never get this done and get enough people to test, let's do a race online, using a car of your choice, on GT5 when it comes out.
