It is with great pleasure that i announce the Lobo Racing Team #14 entry has had its livery changed for the rest of the season, to show support for the Principality of Sealand in its fight for international recognition. Sealand, located in the English channel, and for which I'm set to become a Lord later this year, is an independent sovereign state founded in 1967 that features a beautiful red, white and black flag that served as the inspiration for this design. It also possesses its own governement, currency, constitution, coat or arms, national football team, and fulfills all the requirements of the 1933 Montevideo Convention on the sovereignty of states.

But for real, its actually really interesting: the Montevideo convention requires only the following clauses for something to be a country:
1 - permanet population; which they have, 2 people atm
2 - governement; which they have
3 - well defined territory; which they have - and here's the catch: contrary to your house, when it was created, Sealand was in international waters, so noone had any juristiction over it. They are now in British waters but their claim does have the point that they were iniatially in no country's territory. Plus, the law that states that man made islands do not count for territory was only put into effect 13 years after Sealand was created, so the same point applies.
4 - capacity to enter relations with other countries; which they also had, when a german guy tried to take over the platform, was arrested on it and convicted to life in prision, and the german governement had to send an ambassador to Rough's Tower to negociate, since it was still international waters at the time. Thus, according to Sealand, they've also passed this criteria.
5 - that the sovereigty was not gained by force; which it wasnt.
So, in theory, they have a legit claim, although it means nothing in practice. Plus, according to some International Law writers, the convention does not state other countries need to recognize it as a country for it to be one, it only needs to meet the criteria and therefore, Sealand could, theoretically, be an actual country despite not being viewed as such by all the other countries in the world.
I just worked out qualifying starts at 4:45....*AM*!!!!!

I've had next to no practice so far but I should be able to make it.
For anyone that wants to do a replay, i suggest the following moments, from what i saw during the race:
- Front of the field during laps 1 and 2, quite a chaotic start to the race if im honest.
- Spiner-kopin overtakes me at the hairpin (turn 3, not counting the s's) on lap 4, for 2nd place
- I make a mistake on turn 4 (not counting the s's) of lap 7: an intense 3 car battle for 2nd ensues for half a lap
- Very exciting lap 12 and the beggining of lap 13, with a great fight for 2nd that ends with Sheltie's unfortunate mistake.
- Battle for 5th during the last lap..
Same here with the Jaguar. After 3-4 laps, my front tires were dead (BB -2).Front tire wear just absolutely killed the Lexus tonight depsite promising early running.
The Beetle is a serious handful now so i think its still all to play forThank you for hosting tonight's event Paul. Good fun as always.
A few observations I noted from my position on the mid-field of the silver cup.
1) The Atenza has been killed by another 1% added to the weight. So now I'm even slower in the straights (an Atenza weakness anyway!), worse under braking and in the corners.
2) Raptor's Evo looks to be a bit more of a handful after about 3 laps. BOP changes have really hampered this car's drivability.
3) The RC-F is a bit of a sod in the slower speed corners and now seems to eat the tyres up much quicker. Again, the BOP has really upset this car.
4) It looks like the NSX has been gained decent performance through the BOP changes. Looks more settled in turns and is much faster.
I was looking forward to a good season-long battle with TotalRose and the Beetle having both taken a win and a 2nd place each until Round 3. I don't think that'll happen now.
