@kungtotte_ + everybody else: I'm very very sorry :(
@paoloevans please put me in the reserve list.
No worries mate! I was going to apologize to you as well if you picked up any penalties from our contact there. I thought I could squeeze by there without sacrificing too much speed, but I should've slowed down more.

This was a fun race despite my mistakes in the early race costing me any chance of keeping up with the mid field. Coming back to a P11 finish after being dead last and god knows how far behind is still a decent result in my eyes :)

Hey everybody, thx for the race again @paoloevans . Shame that there were issues tonight, but this can happen with this game =/. The race was nice, I made not major mistakes and also only a few minor ones, so happy with that. I had wanted to finish in the top 6 and just managed that, so that's cool as well. Quali pace was a bit off tho compared to what I had pulled a few min earlier in free practice, so started a bit further back than I wanted. Had a hard scrap for 5th in the opening stint with @WhiteFlight1 , than got jumped in the pits (bad fuel economy / need to be more economical) again by @WhiteFlight1 and the charging @Totalrose . @Totalrose and me had a battle to the end then for 6th. The opening few laps I had quite a big pace advantage in the second half of the lap I felt but I didn't wanna force an overtake, trying to be more strategic, as we were not far in front of everybody else. I finally had a moment to make a pass happen on lap 23 after your slip but I got flustered when trying to find a line and had to back off. After that your faster end of stint pace kicked in and that was that. Anyway, good performance @Totalrose, nice race, see you all in the new year at Suzuka. Ah, and merry christmas and all that =) Here is a race pic I like:

I could see your battle up ahead! Couldn't quite keep up with you and @Totalrose but had an epic battle with @WhiteFlight1 just behind you both.

Brilliant fun!

Well that was eventful! Thanks again @paoloevans for a great race/series :cheers:

Congratulations @Lazybike and @Drex124 - great pace you guys. And GG to everyone :cheers:

I was expecting the 'Vette to struggle here, it just didn't seem like its type of track with the long sweeping corners and only one real straight, but somehow it seemed to manage ok :) Spiner was only 0.150 off in practice, so with a 5 minute qualifying nailing that first lap was important, and I was lucky I got a clean, traffic free lap, and was only about a tenth off my PB.

Then in the race I had a 3 second gap which had started to stabilise as the fronts wore on understeering Corvette, but then @Spinerkopin got really unlucky in one of the trickiest corners on the game, ( gutted dude, so easily done there, especially with worn rear tyres! )

From then on it was just about making no mistakes and trying to get the FL, I had a couple of close calls on the way, its just that kind of track I think, so easy to touch the grass and lose it. Me and @Invisigoth had a funny moment, he went left just as I went left, then we both went right, then left again, and again, it was kinda like when someone is coming down a hall the other way to you, and you both end up doing that weird dance thing :lol: But the 25 laps went by pretty quickly really, and and then I was happy to see the chequered flag :)

Congratulations on the win Phil :cheers:

What happened mate?

@Raptor013 : Same question. I could have sworn you started P6 :crazy: ?

Sorry if I caused anyone difficulties when I was being lapped. I felt so disconnected from the car this morning :( .

Yeah, I'm going to have to look into this.

The Lancer certainly has the 1 lap pace, but either something has changed when they did the last BoP adjustments with the default set-ups we have to run, but the race pace is just no longer there. I started noticing it at last seasons final at Fuji, but it seems to have gotten worse.

The car feels down on grip (more so on cold tyres) hence the Lap 1 off at Sheene, which cost me 6th. Seems to suffer from understeer in the medium speed turns at Paddock, Sheene, Hawthorn, Clark and Westfield.

I'd understand this if it was the Gr.4 car as the front wheels cause the car to push, but in a RWD car its frustrating. I'm having to drive the thing at ten tenths like I do in Qualifying which then leads to driver errors, which costs me more time.

Overall this season has been one frustrating race after another. Hopefully the second half of the season will be better as the Lancer generally has performed well for me in the FIA races at Suzuka and Laguna Seca, with Nurburgring being a track it can excel at from time to time.

But to be honest, I was lucky to finish 12th with just how poorly today went. Never been so happy to see the race leader lap me before as it saved me another lap of frustration.

Sorry about that. That was me trying to get out of the way so you had the better line. I wasn't sure what the gap between you and the next guy was, and I didn't want to be the reason the gap you had worked for evaporated :crazy:

Bugger! Sounds like they nobbled the Evo (OK, it was me, mate, you need a boxer under the bonnet :P .).

No need to apologise - It happens, and I could tell it was because you were trying to be as helpful as possible :cheers:, it just made me laugh the way we both kept going the same way at the same time :lol:

Well that's the thing. The biggest change they made BoP wise to the Lancer's affected the Gr.4 car as they added weight to it (despite it having one of the worst top speeds) which turned it into a slug (you can barely stay in the slipstream of the other cars now). SO unless they also fine tuned the Gr.3's physics without telling anyone, I'm at a loss to explain it.

And *this* is why the instructions for back markers is to stick to your line and let the passing car work out how to pass you :lol: . Sometimes I try to be too helpfull :crazy:.

@kungtotte_ There wasn't any contact. I run off a little and spun out all by myself - and I just hoped I won't hit you out too. I tried to let you go, but I couldn't find the perfect place for it... so I made a nice spin just for sure :cheers:.

@paoloevans :( First I almost killed @kungtotte_ . Then I collided with the 1st place driver :( . Then I collided with the 2nd place driver :( .Then I collided with the 3rd place driver :( . Perfect hat trick! :confused: I'm sorry guys :( .
Then I gave up... :( .

Sounds like a tough race mate. Brands is a tight circuit which can make things tricky.

Obviously I'd love for you to stay on the entry list but if you really do want to go to a reserve then I can pop you on the list :(

Have a think and let me know fella....
