SR-A drivers are better than S

S rating is irrelevant, The reason I always have clean racing is that I always poll 1-4 . It can be D rank or S rank, if you poll below 4th get ready to get whacked. Iv noticed all my bad experiences with GT sport involved me either having one warm-up lap or not qualifying at all, if you get stuck mid-pack, or last, you WILL have to physically fight your way to the top.

I dont know @Sven Jurgens when looking at your stats i find it very hard to believe you dont have your own part in it. And this is part of the problem i believe:

My DR still fluctuates a lot as I usually don't bother with qualifying. I don't play online to drive by myself...

So you dont qualy or practice ? Then it is no suprise your having some bad races. Starting at the front of the field increases your chances of a clean race by a great margin and knowing the car/track combo inside out eliminates most of your own mistakes trough a race.

I practice/qualify for about half a hour to an hour untill i can lap consistenly within 3 or 4 tenths of my PB and optimal is not much faster, then i enter a race. I start top 5 about 85% of my races and most of them are clean because of this.

Perhaps SR should not be dependent on race length.

It is not race length dependent. It is sector dependant as far as i can tell. The problem with short races is that the field is always compact and people cant bring up the patience to pull of a clean pass because of the short duration. This makes it naturally harder to maintain a good average clean sector count, especially when you dont qualy as well.

You can see the exact point where I decided to tank my rating* to get the Win/Pole trophies out of the way

Got those sorted just before Christmas and have been racing "properly" ever since. Was up to B/B as of last night, shouldn't be long before I get back to my peak (B/S).

*The safest way to do this is to quit every race where you don't start on Pole or in a winnable position. You get a DR/SR penalty for quitting and by doing it this way you also don't have to disturb any other players while you get your rating down.
