4th member of GT-MES Hall of Fame is 3-time champion and one of the most experienced drivers, Nils, also known as PSN-Nils, from Germany.
Nils has record for most titles in in Lower Class, winning 2 in Gr4, and 1 in Gr3. Even though Nils has raced in Lower Class almost every season, he has fought some big names on track.
Reacting to his election, Nils said: ''This is an incredible honor to me, thank you so much for it! The GT-MES was my first full time league in the PS4 era when I first joined in summer 2018 and I'd never have expected to come this far back then. It's more than just a pleasure to go racing in this series, from back in 2018 up until today!''
Nils entered Season 2 with Gr4 Honda, from start, he dominated the class. After winning in his debut in Round 1, he went to win 5 more races that season, only not winning those 2 races he missed, and even though it was mathematicly still possible to lose title in Le Mans, there was no question who would be the champion in the end. He was so clearly ahead of everyone, he only had 1 ontrack overtake all season, and that too only because he had stopped early.
For Season 3, Nils stayed with Honda, that moved up to new Gr2 class, and teamed up with fellow reigining GT-MES champion sota59. After epic battle between Honda-drivers, German won in his homerace in Round 1, and Honda-drivers would back and fourth from win to win all season. But it became clear that his teammate sota59 adjusted to the car better, Nils making race costing errors, biggest of them all in Round 7, crashing from lead, and letting his teammate to take second win in a row, and control of the title-fight. But it was all still to play for in Le Mans, and once again, we saw epic battle for the win, but sadly Nils had to retire, and lost the title.
Season 4 Nils made shocking decision to move down to Lower Class, after just only one season, and entered with BMW. In Round 1 he dominated, once again winning his homerace, but as reigning Gr3-champion xZePhyR96x made his season debut next weekend, all changed. Even though Nils was not pacewise far off, his rivals Audi dominated in fuel economy. Even after lucky win in Barcelona, gap going between them was large. Nils was able to take his 3rd win of the season in Fuji, after xZePhyR96x crashed out, leaving Nils door wide open for title going in to Le Mans Finale, with double points in offer. But German was once again handicapped by his car, and it became quite clear, this would not be his time.
Nils went total different direction with his car choice in Season 5, signing with Mazda in Gr3. All his rivals now in Top Class, German was only driver in his class with past experience in GT-MES. Massive favorite was already beaten in Round 1 by thunder-pigeon, next weekend he got beaten by Road2FURY. This continued all season, experience got him to 2nd place each weekend, but could not win a race. Even his teammate farin79 won 2 races with Mazda. Incredibly, going in to Le Mans, Nils was championship leader, but he was facing must win situation and all those podium each weekend had made his car heavy due weight penalties. And in the end, he was not even close to getting his car even on podium, and finished 3rd in standings. 4 of those rookies in his class will be announced as HoF-drivers coming weeks.
Season 6, Gr3 became once again new Top Class, but Nils rather decided to enter to Gr4 with Alfa Romeo. Nils would yet again get beaten in Round 1 by thunder-pigeon, now reigning champion, and he would be seeking for wins all the way until Round 4, after winning in Kyoto, ending his 11 race long win drought. He would again win in Round 7, and go to Le Mans Finale as championship leader, but fell short yet again, and title went to thunder-pigeon.
Season 7 he returned to Honda in Gr4, in car that had won him his only title all the way in Season 2. There was lack of enteries in Gr4, and even though GTS_BOCA_SAFFA and Road2FURY beat him for win in Round 2 and 7, only contender for title was Aston Martin entry driven by sota59 and jonimestari91. But they could not match his pace, and in Le Mans Finale, he could easily take finaly his 2nd title.
Nils made suprising move to Renault for next season, but even after winning in Round 3, it was appearant motivation was not there, and he made silly mistakes and missed races.
Gr3 became new Lower Class as Gr2 returned in Season 9, and Nils signed up with Ferrari. There was question marks over his motivation once again, but he showed some pace, collected some important podiums, but going in to Round 7, he had started to look like title outsider, needing back to back wins in last 2 races to even think about title. In Laguna Seca as title favorites struggled with heavy cars, German could win the race quite easily, and door opened for 3rd title. Going in to Le Mans, Nils would have to win the race, and take fastest lap to win the title, and he did. Unchallenged from start, and fastest lap meant that after the race he was announched as 3-time champion.
