Rain in Belgium!
For Round 6, we go to legendary Spa, and it is going to rain! This will make the race quite interesting, and you can expect some random results. Consistency is key in tricky weather, and best drivers will shine in the end. Tyre wear is not factor in wet track, so it is all down to driving.
Some drivers are looking good for title bid in Le Mans, some are looking for podium, or even for win to get more points, to help their cause.
Gr2
Lexus returned with domination in Austria. 1-2 in qualifying, followed up with 1-2 in race. Winner
GTS_BOCA_SAFFA went for bold 4-stop tactic, dumping medium off, after just one lap. His speed got him quickly ahead of his teammate
GTS_BOCA_GIAMP, who pitted 3 times. Maximum points helped Lexus in Manufacturer Standings, but they are quite a bit down, after missing Round 4. Both drivers looking for title, but they need podiums to improve their position.
Honda kept their podium steak ongoing, with
jonimestari91 finishing 3rd with 2-stop tactic. Earlier in the race
sota59 slowed down a bit, to allow his teammate to secure the podium for the team, but 3-stopping sota59 was not far behind in the end, finishing 4th. sota59 commented on their chances in rain: ''Even though esting been difficult, i am confident we will fix some things before the race, and wont be so far off the pace. But i have to admit, podium might be out of reach.''
Nissan struggled in Red Bull Ring,
de-luck having to DNS yet again, and
G4 Rotary struggling, and finishing 5th. Manufacturers title hopes are surely dead, but drivers title hopes are not. And he has been rumoured to have shown outstanding speed in testing, so he will be one to watch in the rain.
Gr3
Audi has been class above others in Gr3 this season, with rookie
Ryslan Zharinov taking his second win of the season, extending the lead in championship, and giving Audi their third win of the season. Both are looking great for title right now, but points and podiums need to keep coming. Nils in other car was fighting for podium, but fell of to 7th in final laps, and is in need of big points. Both drivers unsure how race in rain will go, either really good, or really bad.
McLaren was confirmed to pull out of GT-MES after just one season, but they have been collecting podiums regularly.
CSX_WiseGuy finished second in Austria, and
CSX_Eagle just missed out on podium in final laps. Rain could turn in their favor, and if they are in winning position, that would elevate both to the title race, but maybe CSX_WiseGuy is the one with better shot.
Porsche really been relying on one driver this season, but
RLH_Wesley has not failed to disappoint. 4th podium in a row for him, started on pole, fell away maybe with 3-stop tactic, but clutch move to take another 12 points in final laps. He is in quite good position right now, but cant allow championship leader to increase the lead one bit more, so big result here would be good.
Mercedes has been also confirmed to leave GT-MES after disappointing results, no wins since Season 8, and no podiums this season.
Emilius73 been driving consistently, but not really been on pace to challenge for podiums.
GBM_amuda74 returns this weekend, he could be wildcard.
BMW another difficult race,
osully14 with another DNS due technical problems
daree1337 finishing 6th, but to be fair, that was his best finish of the season, maybe more coming? osully14 need big points to get back on title race, could be another one to watch,
