What are you talking about, a car flying 30m straight up into the air is completely realistic!

Even though the damage will not be perfect, at least it's there, and most likely it will be better than FM2's or Nascar's. We will always have something to complain about on GTP, but at least game's faults (i.e., rubberbanding) are being recognized and fixed.

I don't think GT5 will include damage unless it's a non visual form of damage, as I think they are probably already maxing out the PS3 on graphics and physic caculations per frame ready for worse case senerial of 16 cars on track and onscreen at the same time.

If GT doesnt have visual and physical damage then it fail's. Its as simple as that. Just like if FM3 doesnt have cockpit view it will fail.

Just don't crash into anything and you will never know there's no damage

but what if you are doing stuff like banger racing. :D But I see your pt. It would be nice to see the occasional horrific crash with nicely detailed fire and carnage. Plus, things like wings are very sensative. passing would be much scarier if your feared damaging parts of the car that affect downforce. or damaging the tranny or engine from driving too hard.

Does everyone have the newest patch? I tried to update on Saturday, but it kept stalling out. Network seems ok, just that patch would not work. It has been awhile since I have played, got a pair of rotten cataracts, but one has been taken care of so I have at least one good eye now, and wanted to see how GT5 looked, with good vision :)

I think my video quality may improve, WOW, I couldn't see a thing!!!! LOL.

Sorry.. But that's a pretty sad movie..
At first.. It isn't even farrr from realistic..but extremely far
And second.. Can't believe people enjoying such things.. maybe some little kids, but damn i wouldn't waste my time on that

... and ... defiantly means he is sarcastic.

Forza 2 damage reminds me of PS1's need 4 speed. It's just LAME. If GT5P had choice of NO damage or FORZA 2 damage, It has better chances with no damage.

Thanks for that video review Bob 👍

I really appreciate in when someone takes the time to give a real indepth look and analysis of a game and understands that Prologue is not meant to be a finished full blown title ticking all the boxes which some reviewers forget for some odd reason! However for what it is it does tick quite a few!

I think that Prologue for the price offers content and features which may be even better than some full releases, with extra free content being added all the time and promises by KY to add damage at some point towards the end of the year its slowly starting to build to a point where its price is justified.

The online does need sorting really urgently because its BAD! but I think for PD's first outing and the fact that are probably focusing on others things its ok to let this one go for now.

That fact that we have something to tied us over till the full GT5 is good enough for me, its something you don't see other developers doing.

Hi Bob! Sometimes people focus on something else, eh? Like I often tried to say that private rooms aren't a better choice than simple friend invites, but no one got my point that private rooms would mess online up more, because it'll be hard to implement :)
As for the patch it's easy:
Dont quit the game if dl fails, just go to news and continue downloading.
It will resume from where it failed even if doesn't look like it. 👍
Hope this helps?

I completely agree with you.

Man I can't imagine how the damage will be in GT5! :nervous:

Awesome, thanks!!!

wow, is basicly all i can say. Granturismo5prologue has been featured on insidesimracing.... man thats like a huge honor right there in its self, im still shocked haha, also a great review a little rough around some points but, still great none the less. you hit the nail right on the head:tup:
and welcome to gtplanet:sly:

hmmm i wonder if kazunor yamauchi is on here.... i bet you he is..💡

Glad I could have been of help.

Let us know what you think ?
I think it feels more natural / realistic after the update.! 👍

I am not quite there yet, I have tried to download from the News section, but it keeps stopping :( I will just keep trying and will get it eventually, hopefully before the next update is out!! LOL.

Oh, i see...
Well, my 'records' so far are 12 hours straight ( that was SPECII update JPN game ) and around 1 hour for the last one...

What I want to say is, you need patience and lots of time.
you can also check the file size from time to time to see your progress ;)

I tried again this weekend to get the patch...and yet again, three more failures :( What is the deal with this thing???? Is there anyway to get it online and use a USB stick to bring it over?

Extremely annoying now.

Hi again !
Well, no you can only get it through PS3,
What version do you have?
Checked the size for the game data?
My PAL versions size is 6509MB... last update SPECIII went extremely quick, check your current game size, so you know how much you still need...
Good luck. 👍

Don't give up after three attempts - it can take many more! Keep retrying.

Perhaps when you turn off the PS3 it wipes the download progress so when you try again, it is from the start.

I will have time this weekend. I only tried three times the last time, total, I have probably 20 attempts at it. I had thought it was my router conking out, but I don't think that is the problem. I may try a hardwire connection, but it sure is difficult with the PSN getting this patch!!

I hate to say it, but the PSN, regarding this particular patch, has forced me to simply give up. When doing the review, I noticed some pretty poor networking more often than not, I had hoped that, by now, this would be sorted out, but I absolutely cannot spend hours and hours, each day, trying to load a patch. Maybe the patch after this one will actually download, but something is massively wrong and, apparently, not much is being done about it.

We shouldn't have to wake up at 2:30 am EST to try and get a download to work. If anything can 'hurt' this particular console sim, it is Sony itself.

It seems that some other advice I gave in another thread has helped out a couple of people that had trouble downloading the update. The solution for them was to reinstall the game as their game data was corrupt.

See this thread: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3214244&postcount=21

FINALLY GOT IT!!!! The advice in that thread did the trick, but it wouldn't update until after I got into the game, and tried twice, but it worked!!
