SRT TOMAHAWK VISION GT OT (Now available)

i'm amped about this one, perhaps this, the lamborghini and gm design are the vgt's im most interested in.it reminds me if a bac mono had active aero and ralph gilles designed it and said "ok that four banger has to go,**** it let's put a viper v10 in the back" and calls it a day.I would be shocked if Dodge gets approval to simply obliterate Ferrari and is able to build that thing

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles already "owns" Ferrari...

yeah and how likely is Ferrari going to let a lower end product of a company owned by Fiat out perform the "golden child" of Ferrari's FXXK?
Explain why SRT pulled out of Le Mans racing when Vettel got signed to Ferrari then

Cool car but mega outfit.
Looks very shadow stormtrooper.

man i lost both links because i cleared my

history

Yeah that's nice and all, but in the context of things the car I mentioned is also established history of the same company and may very well may take queues from that. Until you can give me a source it's speculation. Thus shouldn't be posed as a likelihood as if it was sourced...AUP and all that.

well i do have a source but i have to find it again

I'm not making any such claims, so stop making them up for me.
I thought Ferrari spun off to do it's own thing without the FCA's influence.
The "spin-off" must still be in progress:
The separation will be effected through a public offering of FCA’s interest in Ferrari equal to 10% of Ferrari’s outstanding shares and a distribution of FCA’s remaining Ferrari shares to FCA shareholders . The Board authorized FCA management to take the steps necessary to complete these transactions during 2015.
Source.

It seems it's more to do with protecting Ferrari from a takeover, "keeping it in the family" - specifically the Agnelli (Fiat) and Ferrari families, and "reducing the powers of minority investors". Source.

If I may, your theory is sound, diego. But remember; the Mercedes VGT has 8 exhaust pipes... and it has a V8 engine. So be careful with that theory.

As for the Tomahawk itself (not the bike, the car), it looks very impressive indeed. Being hybrid and all, it should still have a V10 in my view, because it would another interesting thing to bring from the Tomahawk bike. In a way, it might be the SRT equivalent of the LaFerrari (see what I did there?)...
8 exhaust pipes and 8 cylinders. One pipe per cylinder. Either this SRT has a 5 cylinder engine (1 pipe per cylinder), 10 cylinder (2 per pipe) or some cylinders are going to share a pipe while some are not, which makes little sense considering the pipes have the same diameter. Or... it's actually a 15 cylinder with 3 per pipe :D. Or one pipe is a dummy.

I bet it's running a Viper V10 like the original Tomahawk bike from the early 2000s did. If it is, it could be running 645hp like the current Viper GTS from the engine alone, the hybrid power it gets is yet to be seen.

I can't imagine SRT Making a car called "Tomahawk" and not having a homage to the Motorcycle of the same name, the V10 itself would be a good one.

Two things:

1. What in the holy hell does F1 have to do with this?

2. SRT Pulled out of Le Mans Because of restructuring going on with Chrysler (coupled with low sales of the Viper). Signing Vettel had nothing to do with it.

So this whole pointless argument is beyond mute at this point because with Ferrari not under the same ownership as Chrysler, there is no hierarchy as you imply therefore no one is getting held back by Ferrari.

By that logic, the LFA and the 458, both with three functional exhaust tips, would have a 3, 6, 9 or 12 cylinder engine, yet they are V8 and V10. The exhausts tips are not directly conected to the exhaust on each cylinder. Basically, the exhaust manifold collects the exhaust gases from each cylinder to a single pipe, resulting in one tube per bank of cylinders. The exhaust splits again after the muffler, depending on the needs of the project, whether that's cosmetic or not.
I still think the car will either have a V8 (hellcat engine) or Viper's V10 (because of the name of the car, referencing that bike). Other engine types would be surprising to me but not impossible.

More high res screenshots.

Being a Dodge/SRT, it'll break down on its first lap.

On a side note, I wonder if Ralph Gilles had any say in the design of this.

Why can't upload original size images?

Maybe it's due to GTP resizing them? I'm not sure if that has been implemented yet, but try to use the media page to upload the images and then embeed them in your post. That should work, I think.

Isn't that the sort of joke you use for GM products?

Also, wasn't Ralph Gilles the person who designed the latest Viper? I not quite aware of his work...

Nah, I like GM. Dodge is more unreliable.

Gilles is like the head designer for SRT, one of his most known designs is the Dodge Magnum (station wagon).

If you say so, I'm not a full specialist in American cars...

And if Mr. Gilles is the head designer, I'm sure he'll have some sort of involvement with the neo-Tomahawk project.

In the meanwhile, here's an interesting close-up of one of the teaser pictures, courtesy of White_R34 from the PSN forums:

I am so getting Mclaren vibes from that side shot...

It's works. Thanks!

Glad to know I could help. 👍

And now, a proof of how desperate (or stupid) some people are in Youtube: While I was watching the actual teaser video, one of the videos on my suggestion list had a rather curious thumbnail. And when I say "curious", I actually mean that some dumb sod decided to slap a "SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo Preview" title on a video that is completely unrelated to the car itself (it's actually some SRT members talking about one of their cars... the latest Dodge Viper.).

You think I am kidding? Well, have at thee:

Now, cue the facepalms;

Looks like a spam video to me. Get them flagged. 💡

You know, I'm betting it has a 3-liter, 5-cylinder variant of the Dart's "Tigershark" 2.4, mounted transversely, with straight pipes--280hp shouldn't be a distant goal. Now we can put to bed the quandary over the five exhaust tips.
