Martin Scorsese once voice-acted a literal loan shark in the animated film "Shark Tale". I'd wager that doesn't rank too high on the scale of the cinema of human beings trying to convey emotional, psychological experiences to another human being.

His opinion was taken way out of proportion. that is the age of clickbait titles.

People are taking issue with his previous sentence: “I don’t see them. I tried, you know? But that’s not cinema.”

The implication is that he is redefining the meaning of the word cinema as "arthouse cinema" based on an incomplete viewing of some Marvel movies.
