First off, thoughts and condolences to his family and friends, I can't imagine how they would be feeling at the moment. Just sad. Chester had an amazing and distinctive voice, truly amazing how versatile his voice could be. I can't single out just one Linkin Park song as my favourite, but after today, the one with the most meaning would be One More Light. As has been mentioned, Chris Cornell was a godparent to one of Chester's kids, as well as being a close friend of Chester's, and when Cornell died earlier this year, it was evident he was quite heartbroken by it all, which makes it even sadder that Chester committed suicide on what would have been Cornell's 53rd birthday.

This performance, whilst incredibly recent, is likely going to be my lasting memory of Chester:

Condolences out to his family & friends. Was a bit hard not to tear up just a little hearing Shadow of The Day's lyrics again, esp. in respect to Chester.

Can't say that Linkin Park was a particularly integral part of my youth, but they certainly had some good tunes. Quite an unfortunate turn of events.

I will never forget back in 2000 how it took my wife almost 2 months to get me to listen to 'Hybrid Theory' and to this day... it's still the very best band recommendation she ever gave me 👍 I enjoyed the way the band developed over the years and some albums felt different at first but grew on you easily when you took multiple listens, For example it took me a while to really get a feel for the 'Re-Animation' album yet was totally blown away by 'A Thousand Suns' straight from the off and i still listen to it, but never forgetting the early stuff that got my attention in the first place. After 17 years of listening to their albums and seeing them live in Manchester they were quite simply one of the very best bands since the millenium for me

Today feels a bit like a hangover and I haven't had a drink in over 3 years.. I'm going to do just what i did yesterday and sit on my ass and listen to LP on the headphones *very loud* and enjoy some more the Brilliance of this amazing vocal talent. Here's one of my fave all time LP tracks that make me remember the good times when I didn't care for headphones and annoyed the neighbours on multiple occasions :D

Such a sad sad loss, RIP Chester

It really hasn't sunk in just yet. I had a really really awful childhood and Linkin Park was a band I would always turn on and just close away for a while. I still do that to this day.

RIP Chester.

That performance was amazing. Definitely one of the best.

"My insides all turned to ash, so slow
And blew away as I collapsed, so cold

A black wind took them away from sight
And now the darkness over day, that night
And the clouds above move closer
Looking so dissatisfied
But the heartless wind kept blowing, blowing"

RIP Chester. I ****ing love you guys.

From what I heard, an investigation was launched, foul play suspected.

And Chris Cornell had nine broken ribs from the Autopsy. Who gave him CPR, a gorilla? No trained EMT is going to break 9 ribs, and he was legally dead when they arrived, why would they try so hard to resuscitate him? From the beginning I had a very bad feeling about the media cover story, the families statements backed that up, now it's being reinforced.

From the Autopsy:
The soft tissues and muscles of the chest had multiple foci of hemorrhage. The anterior aspects of the right second through sixth and left second through fifth ribs were fractured. The anterior mediastinal soft tissues were hemorrhagic. The anterior aspects of the right and left lungs had focal areas of hemorrhage.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't tear up over this news. Like many people on here my first time listening to Linkin Park was early, in middle school. I've always been a fan, maybe not the biggest fan ever, but I've been listening to their songs over the past few days and it's heartbreaking to listen to now. The lyrics have always been a bit dark, but after this news and some reading up on Chester's life, it's just hit hard. Not to mention the fact that his friend Chris Cornell took his own life only months before and it was on Cornell's birthday that Bennington took his own life. Depression is a serious thing, I can't imagine the pain. RIP

Definitely worth a watch. Chester really gave it his all in all of the songs. Ken Jeong did get a bit grating during some of the songs, but regardless, I still enjoyed seeing Chester perform one last time.

Also, on October 27th Linkin Park will be performing at the Chester Bennington Memorial Concert which will be hosted at the Hollywood Bowl and feature many other side acts like Blink-182, Avenged Sevenfold, System of a Down, Bring Me The Horizon's Oliver Sykes and Machine Gun Kelly.

I'm eagerly looking forward to this. The lineup is absolutely stacked. Confirmed so far;
... members of Blink-182, Linkin Park’s planned tour partner Machine Gun Kelly, Korn frontman Jonathan Davis, Linkin Park duet partner Kiiara, EDM favorite Zedd, plus members of Avenged Sevenfold, System of a Down, No Doubt, Yellowcard and even more surprises.
It's gonna be one emotional night, that's for sure.

You can tell how special Chester's voice was by the fact they have to stick with stuff from the last album as most of the older stuff is impossible for other people to sing.

Mike held it together pretty well on vocals too.

I never noticed that he actually has a decent singing voice. It's hard to tell from his usual verse or two that he does.

You can tell the intro of "Leave Out All the Rest" was tough for him.

Mike singing One More Light. That came a bit earlier than I was expecting.

Indeed. Can't wait to see what they have Oli Sykes doing though. He could bring it hopefully.

So yesterday TMZ released the autopsy and toxicology report of Chester, and misreported that Chester had ecstacy in his system, which led to Mike Shinoda having to correct the report on twitter, stating that the coroner concluded there was none in his system.

Then today, TMZ managed to get their hands on part of the autopsy that had been redacted at the request of Talinda Bennington for the sake of privacy. This redacted piece of information was a very graphic description of a past suicide attempt in November of 2016. Talinda then took to twitter to criticise the LA County Coroner's office and TMZ for releasing this information, stating that it had been paraphrased and sensationalised by the two parties, and going on to state that she had to pull her 11 year old son out of school as fellow students would have tried telling him the TMZ version of the story.

That's just sad. Talinda and the family shouldn't have to deal with this sort of stuff. That sort of stuff should be kept private, and if it gets released, it should only be so with permission and verification from the family, to stop situations like this from happening.

And to end this post on a lighter note, the new One More Light Live album releases on the 15th of December, with proceeds earnt going to the One More Light Fund.

I don't think martial privilege works when it comes to the release of records like that. While it's not in the best of taste, nothing illegal occurred.

I am curious though, how does one hogtie themselves? That seems incredibly difficult, especially when inebriated. I feel like there's more to that story and it involved a second person, possibly his wife since she's so keen on getting it covered up.

TMZ are always one of the frontrunners in the race to the bottom of the gutter.
Yep. The only enjoyment was reading the comments from people trashing TMZ for sharing the story.

The man has been gone for less than 6 months and likely remains a touchy subject for his family. Zero need to know, “Hey, he tried this before everyone!”

I don't believe that most of the anger at TMZ is for the marital privilege thing, but for the fact that the information isn't entirely true, according to Talinda. And what is interesting to note is, the claim he hogtied himself, but in the article, they only say he tied his legs, not wrists. Once again, TMZ is not a reliable source, and purposely going out of your way to get an unredacted version of the documents is as low as you can get. Especially considering how recent it all was.

As for the claim that his wife was involved, let's not throw such accusations around. If he did hogtie himself (again, that could have been the sensationalised part of the story), the fact he was able to escape the restraints without much struggle lends me to believe he did it himself, as someone else could have tied them tight enough to not allow that from happening.
