"Standards" the good, the bad and the ugly

Wasn't said in one of the first notifications about the VGTs that all VGT cars won't get an interior because of the time needed to model it? Maybe I remember it wrong, but I always thought the VGTs were meant to be this way.
I think they were as well. They're purely design practices. I kind of figured they'd be exactly how the Prototype GT-R is. Which also does not have an interior.

I searched gran-turismo.com and the news section of GTP but I didn't find any hint about the mysterious notification in my mind ... I was pretty sure, I read it somewhere but perhaps I'm just wrong.

People said the C5-R got upgraded a bit. What do you think?
Doesn't look like it.
It seems with every update someone claims improved standards, improved standards. Same goes for people mentioning brand new features, then a few minutes later someone corrects them saying the feature was there from day 1...makes you wonder.
Has there been a single case of that actually happening, a standard being improved with an update?

Makes you wonder why there is a forum and a board to collect information doesn't it?

You quoted @Custom878, who said 800 cars in reference to the standards. By saying "dump the cars", you are explicitly referring to the 800 standards he spoke of.

This isn't a future discussion. We're talking about now, in GT6, where it isn't holding the game back. They're cars, they work, they do what they're supposed to, just because they aren't in stunning HD quality doesn't kill the game. We still get about the same amount of premium cars as Forza 5, but we have 800 more to play with.
It's actually double the premiums :)

I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned it yet, but in the '72 Honda Life Step Van it appears that the dashboard has been modeled, curiously enough; I'll try to get some pictures some time. If you look through the standard windows at the right angle, you can see it, plus the steering wheel. If they worked on that, rather than all exteriors, the "all premium quality" might not be as far away as it seems...

This is the Honda van and it really isn't anything out of the ordinary. Excuse the poor quality if you can, I'm too lazy to upload a pic straight from the game.

No
I think the Corvette C5-R got slightly updated with better polygonal detail, but no updated textures on its sides or panel gaps.

The Nissan Primera 20V '01 seems to have better modeled detail than before, even though it already got improved a bit in GT6 compared to previous games. EDIT: hmmm, maybe not: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...-bad-and-the-ugly.291012/page-53#post-9137221

After purchasing one and looking at it in detail in photo mode in game, I can now say the Nissan Primera looks the same as before (good).
No, the C5-R remans the same.

What's gets me is that they had those white strips filled in with the "24 heures du mans 2000" in GT3 but had to remove them due to licensing issues. Now that they have the license/permission back, I don't see why they don't just put it back in. Even the R390 GT1 Race Car had Le Mans logos, and it was updated without them putting them back in.

They put them back on the XJR-9 and C9, but I guess that the car needs to be premium before it can be "perfect"

/rant.

The Audi TT DTM has been given some serious love by PD.

Pre 1.05 Update:

(Apologies for quality of the pre update pictures. Photos were ripped from my IGCD posts as I didn't have the original files on me at the time. Oh yeah, I'm also an administrator on IGCD aswell. Pretty nifty eh?)

Most standard cars has a basic interior modeled. Steering wheel, dashboard, seats. I guess the reason why it's black is because it's low-poly and doesn't have any textures.

Looks about the same to me.

I mean on GT6 as a whole, I didn't drive car until yesterday.

These last few posts are like the most frustrating game of spot the difference ever... I give up.

Right-click and hover over "View Image," middle-click it to open it in a new tab, go to the next one and right-click and "View Image," then just go to one and hit Ctrl+Pg Up,Pg Dn to see the differences ( in this case, there are none. )

Note: This works on Firefox, not sure about Chrome, IE, Opera, Safari, etc.

Has anything happened to the reflections on the Auto Union Streamliner? I was driving it yesterday and it seemed more reflective and cleaner than before.
I haven't got any images and I might be completely wrong!

I'm sad Kaz and PD didn't cleanup anything new. :(
