Just want to see if anyone is interested in joining me and a few other GT5 friends in a Le Mans GT series. We're going to be driving GT cars that are 473HP and 1240kg. This is loosely based on Le Mans GTE 2011 spec of 470HP and 1145kg.

The reason I've specced the cars in my series to have 95kg more is because a lot of the cars I want to use can't get that light. A few can. It would be a big advantage to the cars that could. At 1240kg, most of the cars can get that light or lighter. The ones that can't, I've tested at their lightest weight and they're competitive.

I've been testing with friends the last few nights and no matter what car we use, the racing is close... Really close... Just like the GT racing in LMS/ALMS.

Here's the list of cars:

Aston Martin DB9 '06

BMW M3 '07

Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C6) '06

Ferrari 458 '09 & 430 Scuderia '07

Ford GT '06

Jaguar XKR '10

Lotus Evora '09

Mercedes SLS '10

RUF RGT '00

Some friends have asked why I'm not allowing any Lamborghini or Nissan GTR's. I have no way to govern the use of AWD so I decided not to allow them.

As for the tracks we'll race on, I'm going to try to make sense as far as the geographic "travel" that will happen. We'll start in Europe. Hop over the pond to the North America. Then we'll end the series with 3 Japanese races. I'll put some of the fictional tracks in where I think they look like they might be located if they really existed. Just to throw some imagination in...

Here are the tracks and race distances:

Circuit De La Sarthe (France)- 7 laps

High Speed Ring (France)- 20 laps

Nurburgring GP/F (Germany)- 10 laps

Autodromo Nazionale Monza (Italy)- 10 laps

Circuito De Madrid (Spain)- 10 laps

Daytona Road Course (US)- 10 laps

Indy Road Course (US)- 10 laps

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca (US)- 8 laps

Grand Valley Speedway (Canada)- 8 laps

Tokyo R246 (Japan)- 10 laps

Fuji Speedway F (Japan)- 10 laps

Suzuka Circuit (Japan)- 8 laps

All races will have fuel consumption and tire wear set to on. The only aids allowed will be traction control and driving line. Tire restriction will be set to racing medium except for the Madrid race. Racing softs will be allowed in that race.

There it is! 12 demanding races! If you're interested, find me on PSN. I'm GadgetGeek208

And as an incentive, I'll present every race winner with a brand new premium car. If you finish P2 or P3, I'll gift a standard car.

Count me in.. Sounds like alot of fun. What are the regulations going to be.. Light damage? heavy damage? hopefully no aids are allowed.... tires?

Thanks for your interest. I'd like to do heavy damage for the sake of ultra realism but I won't. Some people are really against it.

The only aids will be traction control (real race series have cars with TC so why not?) and driving line (some people might not be familiar with certain tracks)

Tires will be restricted to race medium or less except for the Madrid race where race softs will be allowed.

My lounge is open for test & tune right now. Get your car ready and take it for a spin around La Sarthe.

I have an ALMS season going.
If you'd like, you can use the regs for the cars in there.
They're just about dead even.
Or you can sign up in that thread...

so 473hp 1240kg. RM tires. now since you told me through a message the La-sarthe will be 2009 with chicanes

Hey guys. Hope we can get some more people in the event. I'll ask around as well. Also am kind of interested to see what kind of cars everyone is running. I just spent most of the night setting up my F430. Feels pretty good. Think I'm going to try a tune for the M3 and the SLS AMG. The m3 will be interesting due to having a lil more weight to it but it does Handle very good for a road car.

Anyway lets get this event going guys. It's going to be fun.

Oh and one more last question..... Is there going to be a mandatory minimum 1 pit stop

You need to cover when the races will be. I know that's my first question.
Secondly, no offense, but if I'm going to schedule a race series, (which I like the sounds of this one mostly) I 'd rather not put a whole bunch of time and practice for a 15 minute race. Maybe some more laps each, so fuel/tire wear really come into play, more time to make mistakes, and recover.

Thanks! Your series looks like fun. I might give it a go!

You bring up some good points.

When will the races be?
I'm working on the schedule today. It takes quite a bit of planning on my end because IRL I have a pretty demanding job that often takes up my afternoons, nights and weekends. I'm trying to have a race a week. Right now, Saturday afternoons are looking like when the races will take place. I'll have a firm schedule in place with start times of qualifying and start times of races by later today or tomorrow.

Will/Can the races be longer?
I'd love longer races. If everyone is down for longer races, I'd happily do that. I'm just trying to be respectful of everyones time. Lots of people have busy lives. I'll ask my little circle of GT5 friends that have already agreed to run these races to see what they think.

I'd be super excited to run a one hour race at all the tracks listed. if we bump up the amount of laps at each track, the races would take 45 to 60 min to complete. Heavy damage would be on.

Thanks for your interest in the series :)

I agree. Longer races would be alot of fun. Heavy damage is great to. We still need someone to sit out and watch the race while being the host of the room. I hope we have some legit players but seems like there is a always a person or to that will cut the chicanes on la sarthe. Great to have lots of people sign up for this. Keep us posted on the time and start date of the event. I'll be tuning a M3 or the SLS tonight I think.

If we run roughly 16 laps or so at la sarthe it should put us roughly just over an hour of racing. Now another idea would be say if the race starts at 6 or 7 or whenever. Make it so 5:30-6:00 is qualifying. Or what ever right.

What about cautions. Im just thinking turn 2 everyone rushing in might cause a big scene right. So if we made say the leader slows down to 60-70 mph allowing the pack to catch up and who ever needs to pit then can pass and race to the pits. Then just pick a set point to start the race back up with the pack while everyone heads for the pits. Idk if any of that made sense lol I'm kinda bad at explaining things.

Just a thought tho

Ok... After further review and considering the requests for longer races, I'm going to make the races longer. Here's the updated race distances:

Circuit De La Sarthe (France)- 15 laps- This race will start in the evening and end in darkness. Practice your night driving ;)

High Speed Ring (France)- 45 laps

Nurburgring GP/F (Germany)- 25 laps

Autodromo Nazionale Monza (Italy)- 25 laps

Circuito De Madrid (Spain)- 40 laps

Daytona Road Course (US)- 25 laps

Indy Road Course (US)- 25 laps

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca (US)- 25 laps

Grand Valley Speedway (Canada)- 25 laps

Tokyo R246 (Japan)- 25 laps

Fuji Speedway F (Japan)- 25 laps

Suzuka Circuit (Japan)- 25 laps

Heavy damage, tire wear and fuel consumption will be on for these races.

As for the schedule, I'll have that posted within the next 18 hours. Right now it's looking like all the races will be on Saturdays.

I'm defiently in. If we get enough people can we do lmp cars too?

No LMP cars. I'm concentrating on just GT style cars for this series. It's easy to set regulations for just one certain style of car.

Maybe one day, PD will let us have separate classes in online races... That would be cool! I won't hold my breath tho...

Looking forward to this event. I got my car picked out. Still needs some tuning tweaks here n there but it's going great. Killing my previous times that's for sure. What's the maximum amount of people to enter? 10? 16? Looking forward to this series. Shall we start the race first Saturday of July?

GT1? GT2? GT3? GT4?

There are sooo many classes of GT cars, please be direct.

I'm not misinformed or ignorant about ALMS/LMS GT series.

IRL, there is no more GT1 or GT2 in ALMS or LMS. There's just GT in ALMS. GTE Pro and GTE Am (amateur) in LMS. A GTE Am car chassis has to be from 2010. That's the only difference in the classes in LMS. There's no HP restrictions, chassis design or weight differences to separate Pro from Am in the GTE class of the LMS. This is much different then say, comparing a GT1 car to a GT2 car which were very different in HP restrictions, chassis design and weight.

GT1,2,3 etc classifications are still used with the FIA for their very popular GT racing series. I'm not basing the rules or classifications of my series in GT5 on rules and classifications from the FIA series.

The rules for my GT series based on ALMS/LMS are in the first post of the thread.
