Yea, but think the rules state Sport hards?

"Tesla Roadster Super Lap: target 1:07.000
[Stock Tesla Roadster '08 = 463 PP - 277 HP - 1238 KG - SH]"
I'm assuming the SH at the end means 'Sports Hard'?
Driving Stock cars in TT is more fun then with tunning, but how can you be sure that nobody cheats?

I asked Hastatus about this and he said, "There's really no way that I know of to make sure people aren't cheating. But it really doesn't matter because we view it as them cheating themselves if they do."

I agree though, more seasonals with Stock cars and tunes would be great.

But this is a stock challenge, meaning no changes to the car, it must be driven straight from the showroom.
Yes you are correct, no changes = no changes.

Well in the meantime I 'failed' this stock mission as I put on the comfort softs and after some getting used I barely made the 1.06's. Will retry on SH as I adjusted my technique, and curious if I can drop my times once again.

I'll have a proper go @ this tonight, can't imagine I'll get within half a second of that gold time though...

Not hearing a distinct engine noise is weird, rely on that to gauge where the traction is what with the tyre noise being so drowned out.

The Tesla on SH is ano-go for me.

Thought the Miata challenge would be easier but with the suggested Roadster I am 2.5 sec shy of gold . Room for improvement, surprising a bit. I am sure no alien but I consider myself a decent racer, I am not driving like a pancake.

Are people beating the gold pure stock, besides the 2 guys posting their hotlaps <<< which I will have a look to learn what I can do better.

Just 0:090 off Gold now, 1st corner is the only one Ive done poorly, nail that and super_gt's times in my grasp!

Tough challenge though :boggled:

1:06:865

Think I'll leave it there for sanitys sake..

Controller was being good today... I had a go at the Clio down the Old Kent Road Course...
My car had... 45km of running, but still had its original Comfy Soft Michelins, Missing panel on the dashboard where I ripped out all of the driver aids and no twerking... erm tweeking of the car.. Brakes were set at 5/5 so I can carbon date the last time I used the car to very early in the game when I didn't realise where the brake bias could be altered. And had not bothered doing any tuning at all.

I ran 4 laps... 1st was looking good. Everyone's blue lines blasted past then I took what I thought was a pretty slow in line... and flew past the Tron bikes, but then the car didn't like my "Give it the beans" out of Paddock Hill bend... and I ran wide... and did a bit of running in the sand.
I ran a few more laps then did a really neat one...
Clio
403pp/199bhp/21.9torques/1240kg CS
56.852 (22.0/15.5/19.1)

miles off gold, but good enough for a Silver : no aids run.

Need more practice than 4 laps, But I hate the Front wheel drive.

Ended with 33.9 miles driven... but I think I had already run 45km... (27miles... but four laps of baby Brand Sindy can't be 7 miles?)

I had to put on TCS and ABS to keep it from locking the front and fishtailing all the time. (1.06.879)

I have spent too much time on the MX5 and still struggling to find the final 0.6 seconds or so.

Any advice guys?

Time to concede on the MX-5 I think. I can do consistent low 1:35s and once scraped into the 34s but I don't think I'm going to find an extra second. MadMax is the only one to post a gold time so far and that was by less than a tenth so I'm pretty sure it's beyond my ability. Incidentally I tried a few laps with abs off and it made no difference to my times.

Great Lap
Try to be more smooth on the breaking and steering

ABS 1, rest off, wheel, h-shifter+clutch

Miata - 1:34.937 Only did 32Km so far. My perfect lap so far would be in the .7xx
Down to 1:34.755 1:34:523 Perfect lap would be around .3xx
1:34.139 - Perfect lap would be gold. Advice: Can earn some time if you push the apex of the last corner into the middle of the track (You will start the lap with more speed) Mad max didn't use this technique. Also the track is wide, so trail braking is where you can gain time, lots of it.

1:33.972 - DONE

Figured a leaderboard would be useful. We can easily see how many people golded the challenge and what times are people getting. @Hastatus feel free (if you want) to put this in the OP and keep it updated (I will the delete it here). Also, I suggest to prohibit Active Steering (ABS and TC should be enough), and to consider suggestions of posts #19 and #20.

I haven't tried again since the first day of the TT's, but I may give it another go later this week.

Well done! I was using that trick also. Whenever I knew the lap wasn't going to be a PB I'd run very wide on the last bend to get the best possible exit speed onto the straight. It only gains a tenth or so but every little helps.

I am also curious to see the pros. I hope they can do it.

For myself, I want to at least try set out a lap below .500
Will try next weekend (can only play at some weekends).

Edit:Won't be able to play next weekend. Will have to wait one more week.

Well if no one can do the Clio the next step most close to the spirit of the rules is an oil change(that's what hastatus and me tried when we couldn't gold the rocket (in the end no oil change was needed and we beat it stock)).

Also can someone write up some more pro names in here? It seems we didn't catch their attention with @MadMax post.
I don't know any of them, but they do exist in this community. I really want to see what one of the best can do with this challenge.
