Stolen car lookout thread - Spread the word!

I figure this may be of use. I was going to start one when Walker Wilkerson's drift car was stolen, but it was found shortly after. I figure we could use a thread on GTP where people can post pics/info on stolen cars so others can keep a look out. 👍

This popped up on my Facebook feed a few hours ago.

Ford Escort RS2000, tarmac spec rally car. All I know is that it was stolen from a home address in the West Midlands, so if any of you live around there, keep an eye out as these are rare. Registration is YWE 21T in case you can't read it on the photo.

Check craigslist, cars.com, etc because car thieves tend to put them up for sale on these websites.

Unfortunately that car is already in pieces by now. Being a drag car, they will just part it out and make a killing.

Maybe, maybe not. Walker's drift car was found several days later and although they had started disassembly, it was still pretty intact. Motor & all the drivetrain parts were still in it.

This is a pretty good idea for a thread, I think. Especially when there have been GTP members (like hfs) who have had their cars stolen before.

Even if they start to disassemble it a car built like that has to have very serious documentation, so hope is lost.

This NEEDS to be stickied!!! I don't know of many stolen cars that haven't already been posted, but I have friends whose cars were stolen and parted out this past year. This needs to be stickied. It could really help.

My buddy that used to own a high HP drag supra told me that the way it was taken apart. "Whoever did it has done it before. The rear courter panel is very hard to get off without scratching the paint."

Also he said "she used to keep it in the shop/garage locked up. People were most likely following her waiting for the one opportunity where she left it out and went to grab it"

It is just sad thing to happen. Many years of her time put into it just to have this happen. I can only imagine how she is feeling right now.

Lot of people are saying insurance fraud and a lot of bs truth is I would if had a kill switch and tracker

Just saw it on yahoo. Sad for the girl. Losing it's favorite toy isn't nice. At least she wasn't harmed or threatened during the theft.

Also on a side note, don't uninstall your alarm from your car because it is a race car or show car. A 110db alarm might would have set her off...
I know that's the first mod that's going into my Skyline when I get it. It's a must have.

Third partie alarms also show that, can give out a silent alarm via a text and track it via GPS.

Call the cops, give the location it is towed to...

They cost 300 bucks and weight maybe 500grams.

My homie's computer shop.

He had a employee working (which was a close friend). Well for a period over 6 months he noticed more and more hard drives and RAM were being stolen from the back. Then when it got into the thousand plus dollar range he was really trying to find out who did it and fast.

Next shipment he put a few of those dog tracking chips and named them and put them in a few different boxes. Then sure enough later that day they started to move.

Well he was having dinner over at the guy's house later that night anyway with some of their friends and the guys family.
After they ate dinner and before he left him and his wife and kids and some of their friends were sitting in the room. He said before I go I want my two boxes of hard drives and RAM (which all that was taken was almost to 3000 dollars). Then after explaining what he did the guy gave him all the stuff back.

After he got that loaded up in his car he told him in front of his family and friends you are fired.

Call it crule but i mean the guy had been doing it more and more and taking more and more.

Sorry for the story but i basically that does work
