stuck on the ice races.

There are fair means and foul. I used the 206 Rally car first time round and won fair and square. I then recently did it with the RAM to get 200pts and I wasn't so fair, though the RAM handles surprisingly well.

Tips: Staying in a higher gear helps (do not use 1st.. ever, on ice), as does adding weight to the back end with the RAM. It is important to get in front so that you can block if you need to.

Cheats: Wall riding, overtaking by hitting the leader (ok you get a 5sec penalty) but ensuring you block the AIs line so he stays behind.

And practise, there are some good lines to find at some corners that work very well.

Dodge Ram 1500. Although I would rather use the STi Spec-C. Mainly keep your foot off the throttle. Be gentle. As my driving instructor said, think of an egg between the pedal and floor. Hug those corners and I wouldn't use the handbrake unless your an expert. Brake and accelerate slowly, best way to do it. As for cars, any 4WD or AWD will do.

I just bought myself the RAM thingy, put on some ice tyres and got my ass whipped!! how the hell do you win anything with this slug?????

I used my Lancer, cut the horsepower in half and put 200lbs of weight on the front end. It handled the ice very well. You can add weight to the car in the front or back. It worked. But you still have to take the guy out early in the race and take the 5 seconds.

I get rammed from behind by the AI (no I didn't swerve in front of him) which pushed me head first into a barrier... and I got a penalty!!! And the AI didn't!!!! Made me wonder why I was the only one in the game trying to play fair.
Exactly the way I look at it. If the AI has a big advantage because of the way the penalties are given, why not take every advantage the game allows you in compensation. Wall riding would not be something I would normally do, but in the special events I definitely it do every chance I get.

I used the Lancer Super Rally Car stock and won easily, even against another super rally car. I finished a minute ahead on the hard Chamonix course. My butt hit the wall a couple of times, though.

i did the capri rally hard and got the prize car ford rs200 rally car
then used it for all the dirt and snow/ice races and won easily but it was still fun. that car turns in so well cause of the short wheelbase, mid engine (i think) and it revs so high!

This ice racing is ****ing bull****. They should've left it out of the game. How are you ever going to get past an opponent without ever crashing into them? The fact that you have to drift through turns sideways makes the road not width enough to pass without hitting em. Passing on the straights is impossible as well.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: it's all about throttle control. Once you get used to using the accelerator to steer the car and keep it under control, Ice Racing should be second nature. It's like rallying, but with even less grip. Practice makes perfect. A good car also helps.
