First race @ Okayama has finished. Ending was epic on this one in GT500. Raybrig HSV-010 took the lead on the penultimate lap and then the Zent Cerumo SC430 got the lead back on the last lap. You should have all seen it.

In GT300 Audi R8 LMS got a win on debut in JimGainer guise. Reigning champion Hatsune Miku Z4 was 3rd. Most debutants struggled really, the S Road GT-R GT3 was looking good in 4th then looked like it got taken out by the other S Road GT-R in GT500!

This race was a good spectacle of what Super GT is all about though. Looking forward to the rest of this one. What's F1 again??? :boggled:

I'd be really interested in watching this next round, but I assume finding live coverage will be hard (and the time difference might be grand aswell). Luckily I can atleast watch the races afterwards.

Where?

Umm someone likes GT-R very much lol. Speaking of them, I've recently watch an old Hot Version where Tsuchiya was testing the 70's skyline it was pretty awesome seeing him on them.

As for the race, I didnt watch it yet, waiting for a proper 720p version. I've watched qualifying tho and it feel like GT300 are getting eaten by the GT3 cars, no more shinden, no more Amemiya RX-7, but it's nice to see the euro cars battling with the japanese one. It's quite a change tho, it's weird seeing SLS, R8 and the lot. The Arta Garaya seems to struggle quite a bit aswell.

yeah the GTRs struggled a bit the Motul car was 4th and the new GT300 GT3 GTR finished 19th after some contact...but both cars had fastest lap of the day in their classes..

R8 did well i must say and was cool to have some new cars in the series

Finaly watched the race, too bad the GT300 GT-R went out, it seems to have quite a good pace. Strong finish from Taniguchi and yeah nice race from the R8.

In GT500 it was a really really really cool finish, the 5 last laps were so intense, really cool stuff. The last overtake from the Zent SC430 was kinda crazy. Good stuff~

no more shinden,

The Arta Garaya seems to struggle quite a bit aswell.

The Shiden is still racing.

The ARTA Garaiya was actually the best placed of any of the original GT300s in 6th. But that kind of result does say something a little.

Oh, and I quietly support Honda in GT500 as the HSV-010 is awesome. And I'm backing the current champions in GT300. Really though I don't mind any one of the cars on the field this year.

Entire first race in one video here.

Oh cool. Now I got something to watch later! Thanks C-ZETA.

Had no idea Round 2 was on today, totally a break from the norm!

As it turns out the Denso Kobelco SC430 won in GT500, so another win for Lexus here. Raybrig HSV came second again, could well be a potential title challenge there? Motul Autech GT-R came third. Epson HSV was on pole but dropped to 11th...Zent Cerumo SC430 finished 8th this time after winning last time out.

GT300: Reigning champion Hatsune Miku BMW gets a win here, Eva-01 Shiden was second and Aston Vantage GT3 got third. Winner from the last race, the Gainer R8 LMS, finished 5th, despite being on pole.

Now, I really do need someone to get me a full race video link for this...can't believe I missed the unorthodox dating for this race. :dunce:

Tell me about it!

I was looking for a stream for the Spa 6 hours earlier and I came across one with this race but it was over and the winners were being interviewed.

Tim Bergmeister had a huge crash at Fuji
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tbdmiL8KWo

This is from jorg "update on Tim: Tims condition has stabelized. He has severe lung injuries and the doctors are trying to safe his left lung while the right side is in much better shape. within the next 2 weeks we will know how it goes. His brokes bones are no issue right now and the good thing is there are no head injuries nor damage to the spinal cord. Please keep your fingers crossed for him. Thank you for all the messages. I will keep you updated. Jörg "

btw whoever thought it would be a good idea to post half a page of 3000x2000 images you froze my laptop.

Is Lexus still running the SC430? That chassis surely must be prehistoric at this point!

They are. It has won the first two races despite being 6 years old now...really should have gone to an LFA base by now.

Also, damn about Bergmeister. Looked like a really hard hit there.

Damn, talk about a hard hit. Hope he pulls through, it isn't life threatening? I certainly hope not.

Bloody hell, you'd think there can be only so much bad luck. Hope Tim gets through this well. That's one spine chilling impact.

The impact was frightening. The left side of the car was completely destroyed!

The video didn't show what happened before that but I think he lost it under braking. Hopes for the best!

I think the braking zone is quite a bit later than that so he would've been flat out, looks like suspension failure to me.

It'd be cool to see what the LFA would look like as a GT500 car.

Also after seeing the Bergmeister crash, I'm amazed he's still alive. Hope the injuries aren't life threatening.

Some broken ribs, but that's of no concern, his lung is. Latest news are that he is stabilized and there are no head or spinal cord injuries so if the doctors take care of his lung first and broken bones after he should recover ok.

The race itself was pretty cool too, starting in quite wet condition (nearly all car went in the pit in lap 2 under Safety car control, in GT500 only the arta stayed) then with the differents strategies it was pretty cool. That accident was frightening tho. But good racing, specialy by Taniguchi who was still 3rd at 4 laps before finish but managed to pass both the shiden and the Garaya to finish first. Great win.

Update on Tim: the doctors performed surgery today on Tim´s chest cage to stabilize it. The surgery went well and in the next couple of days they will wake him up and try to get him of the respirator. Today was another step in the right direction, so please keep your fingers crossed and hopefully he will continue to get better. Thank you and I will post more updates in the next days. Jörg

My god, Tim is very lucky to be alive.. Hope he pulls through. Must have been some what of a wake up call to the other drivers in the race reminding them what can really happen if something goes wrong.
