Should we all turn off our mics before race start?

I did some testing last night...I could run 15 laps with about 1/4 left on my fronts, with a drop of about 3 seconds. So, here's my suggestion to make the race a little interesting with to pit or not.
A 8 lap sprint, then a 5 min break, then a 20 lap feature. Reverse grid based on previous race results.

Sounds interesting. If everybody else agrees then this is how we'll run it.

I just don't understand the reverse grid use for the second race. Why not just run it regular, fastest to slowest grid set, this way you start in the spot you earn in the first race.

if you run the second race in the same order then you may as well just have 1 race. The point of the second race in reverse order is that the fastest racers have the difficulty of getting past the slower in the second race, you then take the average of your 2 results to score your points and see the overall winner, for the front runners the second race essentially becomes a test of how well they can pass everyone else and a chance for the slower racers to lead and defend their position.

Ok thanks. Sounds fun.

Well said. 👍

GT500 cars are some of the best replicated cars in the game. Love the detail.

ITOSS, DJ: I say we run three wide all around track for race 2:sly:

Just did some practice with JT, Dangit and another friend and we had some really good close racing in the sprints we did. It's really tough to pass here and one mistake can really put you back. This race should be alot of fun

I think the racing could be very close, also. But,so far, I haven't been able to crack 2:00. This has me worried. Were you guys all sub 2:00?

The fastest time I've been up to now is a mid 1:58. But these times drop once in traffic and being careful not to wipe each other out in the turns. I think it's completely up for grabs and should be a good tight race.

I managed a low 1:58, but averaging in the 1:59 area, sure is a tough track to pass on so should be interesting

I practiced for the first time yesterday. Managed a 2:02 so far. I get major understeer through the first 3 turns. I'm not sure what speed to take that weird looping left hander after the first turn. I always end up plowing to the outside of that turn and the next.

I'll give you a good hint for those first 3 turns, especially 1 and 3, "slow is fast". ;) Same applies for turn 2, but for it you also need to let the car roll far enough around the turn before getting back on the throttle. I always thought it was understeer too until I slowed down.

Thanks for the tips bo! I'll be sure to try them later on tonight. Does this Camaro give anybody else a headache? The exhaust note doesn't sound like a muscle car at all...or is it just me?

1st left/lefts is a beezy for sure. You have to stay off throttle and roll through longer than it seems. It's almost a double kink left at the beginning that will push you over the curb almost every time if your not conservative.

there is a couple license tests for the couple parts your stuggling with. They helped me.

I don't know if it was intentional or not, but that exhaust sounds like a set of 360 degree headers on a V8. Way back when, my boss used to run late model dirt cars and most of them used this type of exhasut. It definitely gives them a buzzing sound, nothing like a regular set of 180 degree headers on a V8.

I was going to add them up then divide them by 2. Your race results will be based on this score from high to low. This keeps one weeks worth of points from unbalancing the standings

So whoever has the highest average points from the 2 races takes the 100pts for first place and so on, right?

In which case just adding the points together will be enough, no need to get an average ;)

I think this is probably the best way to go.

Yup you got it!

In the event of a tie we will use the fast lap as a tie breaker

any chance our event of the 24th June could be moved to 23rd, I ask because I'm getting married on 25th and don't fancy staying up to 4am the night before, it's bad enough this week with my stag do being the following day!!

If 23rd is a problem for too many then I'll just have to sit one out, or drink lots of redbull the next morning!!
