I've only got about 155 as of now.
I can't get all the cars, but I will get 1000.

My goal was to have every car in every color. I was bitterly disappointed when I hit 1000 and the game wouldn't let me buy any more. It's so arbitrary - would someone please hack this...
I have revised my goal to having every prize car in every possible color, plus every 6.2 mile car.
As of now (99.6% complete, 42 Golds):
I have at least one of every car (excepting the last few prize cars, of course)
I have 3 sets of black GTP cars.
I have all 15 colors of the Mercury Cougar XR-7.
I have 10 of the 11 Formula GT car colors (13 cars total).
I have about 300 6.2 mile cars.
I have 105,196,180 credits (for a rainy day).
In real life, I want a garage with attached house:

'96 Camaro Z28
'95 GMC Safari AWD
'93 30th Anniversary Corvette 6sp
'63 Corvette Coupe
(gave my '86 944 turbo to the kids)
As I proofread this, I see that I am clearly INSANE!

About 770 currently. Lots of multiples of F1s, LMPs, carbon blacks, recently bought a lot of tiddlers for Historic Car racing. 200 point A-spec racing sometimes requires variants of vehicles to hit the sweet spot.
As it is, I find it difficult to go through the list. I have cars from every manufacturer, though I might not have the slowest cars. I probably have or had every car from the Used and Historic garages and then some. I wish there was some marker in the database that flagged whether you already own a car you're about to purchase. I got a lot of duplicate Used Cars because I didn't remember I already bought them.
I also wanted to make sure that I had nearly every car to use in the Arcade Mode. I don't think I'll need much more than what I have, so 1,000 cars in my garage will never happen. When I win cars that have a lot of resale value I just sell them off to keep my credits high.

I have two games on two diffrent memory cards.
Game 1 - 100% Complete - 647 Cars, many of them are diffrent Mitsubishi Evolution and Nissan Skyline variants from my Cars That Can Be Fitted With Original Tuning Parts thread, I also own 3 of the black used Le Mans Cars (I don't own the R390 GT1, although I'm waiting for it with the money). I own 6 Formula GT Cars in diffrent colours, Mercedes McLaren in both colours, the stripless Ford GT, all the special cars that cannot be driven, including the Caterham 7 Fireblade in 4 colours.
Since I've completed the game (on this memory card), my main aim is to gain maximum A Spec points, but my secondary aim is to get the special cars in as many diffrent colours as possible

My car with most milage is my BMW M5, which was at least 7,000 miles on it, my BMW V12 LMR has around 5,000, and my TVR 350C has around 1,700.

1st card had 1000 mainly used TVR's in every colour... twice and a smattering of everything else. Trimmed it down to 967 and use the 100% save for OLR's - used 387 of these!
2nd card has 269 cars again "Pokemon" any TVR I see, however only 26 have been used to get to 60.9% completion. (No cars have been sold)
Current car is the Golden Isuzu Bellet 1600 GT-R... the only GT-R I've used so far. Most used car was the Lotus 190 Sport Elise that racked up about 25% on its own

Ive completed GT4 at 72.33% and now own about 450 cars because i have about 50 different skylines silvias and supras i known that its stupid

After a spending spree I have some 495 cars at 96.5% - trying to get one of each car in the game (yes, every Skyline variant, etc...). Getting the Ford Model T will be interesting
