EDIT: sorry if some of you got two or more notifications but I had to fix the spacing....oops.

Well here we go.

This Sunday there will be a 90 Min test race at Interlagos for 1/2 points.

We currently have 21 drivers . If we actually have more than 16 present the moderators will split the rooms and let you know which room to go to PRIOR to qualifying. Since we really do not know everyone's Real pace we will do it by guesstimation. Drop into either room to see where you belong.

If you find the room full post on this thread and we WILL open a second room. It is our intent that NO ONE will arrive and not drive.

PLEASE CLEAR YOUR CACHE and fully BOOT your system prior to showing up.

Please arrive to drive and get sorted out at LEAST 30 minutes before start...

Room will open at Noon (1200), the second room will be opened as necessary.

Please send frs to @GTP_Nail , to @Bass Addict, and to @Goldomor ( our potential room hosts) so if we have to split rooms there will be less trouble in your seeing the rooms. The room names will be The Tour 1 and The Tour 2.

KNOW your BOP, BEFORE you enter. We will check anyway but it is your responsibility to have your car set up.

We will attempt to Practice/Qualify/Race. Realize that there is no TIME AT ALL to take a pit stop between Q and Race. Do so PRIOR to Q.

Each room will have two chats. One for English Speakers and one for our European and Brazilian friends. Each chat will have only 7 members to allow hosts to migrate back and forth. If there are fewer than 9 drivers in either room there will be one chat. If this turns out to be a massive pain we will go to Discord next week.

We'll post race laps before tomorrow.

You must post the following entry form AFTER this Sunday race to enter the Series.
You will be locked into that car for the first four races.

Any of the race moderators may change class and car to "fill up" the grids. They will get any points they acquire regardless of car or class

Race distance 65 laps.
Start will be single file with the acceleration point being when you hit the apex for the last turn.
No weaving during pace.
Pace speed 80 to 90 mph
Gr3 will take space from Gr2 during the pace.

Good testing with @Goldomor , @Missedapex420 (Joe),and @twiget56 ( Jason). See as many as possible tomorrow.

AND, TA DA!

John Greenwood Racing, of Waterford Hills, Michigan would like to announce the filling of its two seats for the coming season. In the 2016 GTR GR2 is up and coming Pro driver @Goldomor from some place across the Pond, and in the Gr3, resident old F.... er Gentleman driver @GTP_Nail in its somewhat slower but wicked pretty Greenwood Spirit of American Gr3 Corvette. Both drivers will drive either car as necessary to keep the fields evened up, and hope that Livery by Argon will provide a renumbered Gr2 for the teams use later in the season.

Guys please get Whatsapp if you have a phone. We will use it for messages before races and use it for comm the rest of time. But keep chat down please. We will also create separate groups for chatting and different race rooms.

Guys, I’m stumbling around with clearing the cache. Can anyone lay out the process? Such as:
Setting/app and saved data/saved data in system storage?

I don’t want to accidentally delete the wrong data.

Sorry for the no mic guys.

So I woke up 15 minutes before the start, I work nights, which meant I had no warm up on a track I'm not very comfortable with in the first place.

The start was funny I waited because people in front of me didn't go and there was confusion in our chat about when to go. Lost at least 2 spots there. Got into a decent battle with twiget and dogwolf. I took some damage from behind, probably my fault for braking so early into turn 1, but I managed to get passed twig and get a gap.

From then on it was just nice clean, slow laps. Had a big lag spike towards the middle of the race, sorry about that, but it seemed fine other than that. If it becomes an issue just let me know. Overall I'm pleased this was my first league race in gts, only had the game since wednesday, and I managed to stay on the track. Looked like the battle up front was insane can't wait for the next one.

That was great racing, an absolute blast. I could see the lag in my rear view about the time Argon was behind you. He noticed it also. Maybe it was an isolated incident causing the lag. Let’s certainly hope so, excellent racing with you today!

I'm glad I could keep you entertained for a few laps @Missedapex420.

I'm not usually one for online gaming. Prior to today's race, it had been years since I've raced against real people. I had 2 goals at the beginning of the race; don't break my car and don't cause any accidents. I'm happy to say that I accomplished both of those goals... almost. I came into turn 1 a bit too hot on the last lap and plowed into the tire barrier, breaking everything one can break on the front. I limped back to the pits for repairs and wouldn't you know it, as I was leaving pit lane the leaders crossed the finish line and my race was done.

Thanks for organizing the race @GTP_Nail, I'm looking forward to the next race in a couple of weeks.

The whole point of this series is to have fun, and it seems that we all did for various reasons. From the beginning we have said that we wanted Aliens, fast guys, sorta fast and not so fast guys. For me, this was absolutely the best racing I have seen in years. I got to mix it up with guys I might even be able to run with, instead of circulating around at the back. The problem has always been getting a good mix of guys so everyone has someone to race with. looks like we managed that.

The real feat was getting all these unrelated people into a room and making the frigging system work... and two restarts... geeze... other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

After the race a few of us went through our races and the only comment that we all mentioned was that while most of us G3 drivers were really good at holding our line and letting the G2 guys find their way by, a couple of us tried to make it “easy” on those annoying pesky G2 cars. And, it ended poorly.
I know its scary to be the meat in the sandwich but just hunker down and hit your marks.

Next race is NEXT weekend at Bathurst. Same everything except the track. After that our points race will always be the second Sunday every month.

We will continue to run for fun on Wednesdays at 1330 and will most likely have some special events on Sundays for those who just can’t get enough of racing with good people in fast cars ( hey that sounds like a slogan or a movie title :sly:).

Cheers and Check Six

Edit: the only real problem was we were not able to talk to each other....that sucks...hurry up Sony...fix it:banghead:

Hi Guys,

For some reason i got disconnected during the race (seemed like a glitch in RSA as a few of my local GT mates experienced the same thing). I had a shocking start (medium tyres) and eventually started catching peeps after they pitted for new tyres. Then boom... :banghead: no network.

Cheers!

Saw you drop out mate, that was a real shame as it turned out to be a really good race all through the field. Hopefully next week will be better for you
