Suspicious Time: Cape Ring Time Trial

Good grief, and I can't still even get under 3:03.5 yet by following the rules.
:grumpy:

I'm with ya. I cracked 3:00, but I just don't see how anyone is driving 15 or 20 seconds faster than that under the rules listed.

I got down to a 2:51 and change following the rules in a Ford GT(no stripe). A Shelby Series 1 I could see into the 2:49 region. Anything below that I would say is suspect, while possible there is a diminishing return on how much faster you can go after a certain point. Watching the replays of some of the top times, and taking the same line. Some of those cars are gripping corners 8mph or more faster and not sliding near as much as they should. Some of the 2:48's are legit, but I wonder how many more are not.

GTPL_yinato is a talented driver and tuner, I would say his time is 100% legit.
Have you tried changing spring strength and toe angle to manage over/understeer and find a setup that suits your style?

Excellant time so far btw.

The Ford GT I used has no Rear Spoiler on it, about 285hp, and the springs are a bit stiff. No real understeer/oversteer problems. I do like a bit of oversteer in a setup so that if I make a mistake, I can slide it a bit and bring it back in line. Still getting it into the groove. It works really well with a little sliding in the rear not enough to turn the tires red, but just enough to get the nose to shift into the corner a little early for a earlier launch out. Working on a tune for the Shelby, the gears are a little tricky for it, and thank you, I'm not really a fast driver on the TT's

I first tried this American Cars seasonal with my spectacular Eagle Talon, it being the least American car that is still technically American. I got 3:04 ...and from this challenge, I learned that FF cars are not good with Sports Hard tires; or in any case at all, really. 👍

God Bless America!

Noticed that earlier.. Dissapointed cause I wanted to see it 👎

I watched it. Nothing special. He smoked the tires alot.

I ran a couple of laps in practice mode using the Clio Trophy on RS tires just to compare times and I beat his time by 4 seconds on a fairly sloppy lap.

Still very puzzled how he got in though...

you better hope it's not a tank car challenge

Pingman
What the fudge. and the tank car too?!

I think yours is broken lmao

It was a glitch after a reloaded game save. I had to take a photo and wait for an excuse to use it. :)
