Suzuka Lap Times For 640+ Cars!

I was expecting maybe 1 or 2 seconds, but 5 is insane. The car just scares the crap out of me when it goes around a corner at more than 1/3 throttle. I might give it another go later on. I can see watching the replay I have a lot of time to make up, mostly at the corner shown in this thumbnail, and especially the hairpin after it.

Honestly, I was surprised how fast that lap was myself. :P

I was brave/reckless with the throttle input, pushing the back tyres into stepping out ever so slightly and trying to balance on the edge of grip through the first sector.

On those tyres, it definitely rewards the brave or reckless, but it can so easily turn round and bite at the drop of a hat. ;)

Just need to confirm if you open a room online and test it there. Is the time laps same fast than on your time trial offline? Cos you are very consistent on this track! Thks buddy!

Testing the new GT-R Nismo! So excited for this one. Completed my first lap in 2:11.958

I'm expecting high 2:10's by the time I'm through.

I used it for a couple laps on that new Sierra track last night and it was a blast. It brakes and handles really well for a car that heavy. Doesn't sound too bad either. 👍

Added another car.

This thing tops out at 126 mph in 4th gear.

I've got a little side project going on at Laguna Seca. Premium cars only.

^ Funny how the V*Spec II has the same PP as the 135i and Fairlady Z but is much faster. 4WD means it can be pushed much harder on CH tires through the corners.

^^i see the same thing, your times with AWD crush your FR cars.

i was in a lobby with SS tires and the FF cars were the best, due to having too much grip to worry about not getting power to the ground, so the PP limit favored them with better P/W ratios.

Wow! I am thoroughly impressed with the effort, SuzukaStar! A while back I tried something similar in GT5 on Trial Mountain and just about went crazy (~500laps total) haha. This is an insane level of commitment on your part. Kudos!

This list has saved me a lot of time in terms of choosing rival cars to pit against one another. Thank you.

Anyways, I seen you ran a 2006 Ford GT. Well, you may want to give the 2005 Ford GT a go. It handles better than the '06. The '05 has a higher PP rating to presumably make note of this fact. All specs are the same except for slight spring rate differences. The '05 GT should be almost a full second quicker! You'd think they'd be identical, but I think I heard once that Ford put some sort of stability aid on the '06 models. Idk if it's true or not, but PD seems to think there is a difference between the two because the '05 is noticeably quicker in GT5 & 6 and feels quite different imo.

I would love to try the '05 GT, but it looks like my days playing GT6 are over until I either replace the blu-ray drive or buy a new PS3, neither of which I can do at the moment. Maybe in a month or two.

2:11.301 - Nismo
591 hp / 7,000 rpm
481 ft-lb / 3,500 rpm
1,720 kg (3,792 lb)
574 pp

2:12.501 - SpecV
493 hp / 6,500 rpm
448 ft-lb / 3,500 rpm
1,680 kg (3,704 lb)
535 pp

2:12.739 - Black
541 hp / 6,500 rpm
467 ft-lb / 3,500 rpm
1,730 kg (3,814 lb)
546 pp

What I find interesting is that the V-spec is faster than the Black Edition, because on paper, that shouldn't be the case. I was testing the Black Edition the other day and could not believe at first that I wasn't quite able to match the V-spec's times from a previous day. They were close, but it seemed ever so slightly easier to go faster in the V-spec. Nice that I've got something like confirmation now that it wasn't my performance on different days that made the difference.

I guess being 110 lbs lighter more than makes up for being deficient by 48 hp and 19 ft-lbs.

All depends on the track. What track did you test on?

Turns out the laser I bought on Amazon came with a 1 year warranty, so I should be playing GT6 again in 2 weeks or so.

Ascari, so that would explain the "handling over power" advantage (similar as Suzuka for you).

Hope you get on again soon. Your testing is much appreciated and it's a shame your PS3 died like that.
