oh man! i about crapped my pants when i saw this! sweet! i have been skating for like 5 or 6 years and im only 16 <8- P but basically if you go to parks a lot and skate with friends who are slightly better its the easiest way to progress, i used to skate every day with friends in the summer and we would go to some local colleges (spelling haha) and pretty much skate everything. i used to go to our park like every other day during the school year though <8- )
for my setup, i run crazy tight trucks, abec 7 black panthers (shorty's makes them), a local board
http://www.skatezoo.com/skate_zoo_proshop.htm the kind that says "born to lose" and its 7 1/2 inches wide, some old flat spotted wheels, and some really hard bushings i have been using for like 3 years.
basically i love to manual haha i could do it all day and i can do it across huge distances.
i have never heard about freezing wheels but i doubt it does much, you can usually figure out what kind of stuff you like simply by the feel of it. don't buy things simply on looks and
ALWAYS CHECK BOARDS! pick it up, hold it level with your eye and MAKE SURE ITS NOT WARPED! too many times have we been delayed by a friend breaking a warped crappy board. you you have any question post them up! i used to be crazy about skating and i went on a hiatus for about a year because i got bored, but now im back and im having fun like a old man married to a 20 year old <8- D
and about meeting pros, there have been a few demos i have been at. in fact, i met josh kalis (he has been in some tekademics videos and has a sweet M5) and a large portion of the alien workshop and habitat team. in fact, i pissed off jason dill in person <8- ) but he is actually a huge jerk and everyone hates him, he is pretty much a stupid male diva (not even that good).
