Halfpipes as in vert ramps or just mini ramps? I do tricks on a 4 foot, 6 foot I'm scared to try hard stuff 8 foot I'll drop in on and that's as high as I go.

Hey Zoxxy, where's this? Anywhere near Göteborg?

Been skateboarding every now and then since the late eighties, still suck though and getting to old.

I mostly skate miniramps, just looking at vert ramps makes me nervous :scared:

YAY! A Swede! Nope, it's down in Helsingborg, Skåne. 👍

Ok, thats a little to far for me.

I actually went out for a short skate session since my last post :dopey:

Got to get a new pair of shoes to skate in, the soles on my Circa's are almost worn through!

Anyone here familiar with Libtech decks? They have a few layers of fiberglass in them and last for a long time usually. My friend was on a six foot vert, went off the side and saved himself but landed dead center of the board with both feet. The board held up.

Some of their thinner boards have massive pop too and make for good street decks. Just curious if it's a local brand or something.

My stuff:
Deck: Libtech
Trucks: Phantom 2 w/risers
Wheels: Spitfire
Bearins: rusty Speed Demons

Actually I have heard of Lib. They make some pretty neat snowboarding merch. Sponsored Scotty Whitlake as well :D

I have a skateboarding/snowbaording question. I always see the term "cab" used. I have no clue what it is. People who I ask give me such shady answers that I doubt they know what it is either. Some people use it to replace 'switch'. So I ride in switch (riding goof, but my normal stance is normal) into a hit, do a switch 5-0. Would this be a Cab 5-0? That's what the general explination is, but then I see stuff like "half cab", which really mess up the definitions. Anyone have a logical explination to any of this?

No. I'm not entirely sure of what MSN is, isn't it some kind of instant messenger thingy?

I'm usually only online at work and unfortunately I'm not able install any additional software on my work station.

Mr. McShake
Element seems to be the deck of choice around here.

I'm a fan of the Enjoi team myself.

Everybodys getting Element decks now. I got one before they were cool.

I think maybe Bam Margera has boosted the sales of Element alot, with Jackass and Viva La Bam

And now BillaBong ownes them so I guess there will be a lot more on the market.

They're even making shoes now.

ehhh, havent been on the skating scene for a while, i have a vision deck thats about 1 year old i suppose, the best trick i could do was a fakie 360 shuv it over 4 skateboards, (i was pretty proud of that, lol) but now i suck.

Ive actually traded sides and have started on flatland BMX, since my ankles are fudged

A half cab is a fakie backside 180 and a caberial(sp) is a fakie backside 360. That's the only cab things I can think of. It's not switch though. So No a switch 5-0 is not a cab 5-0.

Fakie is standing your natural way at the front of the board, like a nollie but on the side that would usually be most comfortable while switch is just standing natural if you are goofy footed and vice-versa.

Hmm. I'm no skater, but I see both terms used the same way in snowboarding, where riding "standing your natural way at the front of the board" is impossible. So now I have no clue which one is used, and how it is used in the term "cab" (associated with rotations) in snowboarding. No wonder I never got a straight answer.

Yeah, I didn't exactly explain that too well.

When rolling normally, move to the front of your board, thats nollie but a fakie is like a switch nollie.

Yeah, I got that bit. Now I just someone to explain it to me how it applies to snowboarding.

So cab 360 is fakie backside (standing normal, riding closer to the front of the deck, nollie style).

Yeah, I think...?

My point exactly. Whatev, I never use it. And you sound more pro if you tell someone you spun a switch backside rodeo 5, than if you say you spun cab rodeo 5.

Now, I'm learning to kickflip, and so far the 'flip part is going great. But can someone help me how to land on the board?

That's virtually where I get too. I don't have a big enough vertical jump to be able to ollie high enough so I have to practice more. Too bad about the current terential rain we've had lately.

when it flips does it land inbetween your legs?

Some peopld do that cause they're turning their shoulders. It takes a little while to get used to being sideways.

yup it does, but i land before the board with my feet. =(

Sounds like you're having the same problem as me, not a big enough jump yet.

Practice sucking your knees into your chest. That's also how you get high ollies.

I was able to kickflip over 2 skateboards easily back when I skated. Now I have trouble ollieing up curbs. :(
