T300 bug pre release

Is it possible to have negative effects on other games (say like gt sport) after updating the firmware of the wheel?
Yes. That can happen. Likely not a problem for an active game like GT Sport as they can always patch in required updates. For end of life games though, if the firmware update breaks something then there is no way to fix it.

The only change (for the T300) beetwen firmware V30 & V31 is an improvement for the T-LCM pedal set when connected to the base (via RJ12).
Full details here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/thrustmaster-t-lcm-pedals.391822/page-13#post-13150387
There is no change for the ForceFeedback (and so no changes in ACC or other games).
About the rumbling/vibrating in ACC-PS4, that disappeared on my side (even with firmware V30) after a 1st save in the game and after a full restart of the console (and it never came back again since).

Just a quick note.
You should always update your drivers, it fixes more than you think.
Its like having a phone or computer & not updating the driver etc when a new one comes out.

That's true. For console players though there are no drivers to update.

As for firmware. It's about time the console people and the peripherals people got together to make sure firmware can be updated from consoles and not only via a PC.

Omg I know. A few years ago my laptop died and I was unable to update anything. They could just do it with their patches. Or Sony can get it done too. There's a lot of loyalty in the sim community since the price can get ridiculously steep. I know I own just about every racing game on the PS4. If Sony took more of a active role in their well used peripherals it would be very nice. Ok, back to racing and the crack pipe.

When you say all problems do you mean the game recognizing the wheel without having to enter a race with a controller first?
Once I have started the game the game no longer recognises my hand controller. You must make sure you have selected to use a wheel in the options menu and make sure the rotation is at 540/560degrees

Reason I ask is I’m on the newest firmware for the TS-XW and I still have that issue.
https://support.thrustmaster.com/en/product/ts-xw-racer-en/ I see it is for X Box only so I don't know. All my comments are for PS4 and the TS300 wheel

Also, can you confirm that FFB is really heavy in the pits with a vibration in the wheel until you start driving off?
No it is not

Amen to that brother. Updating firmware is something I completely forget about with my consoles. Probably because I am so used to everything always just being plug n play and the console/games update automatically. Even my TVs tell me when there is a firmware update and can do it automatically ;-)

Let me get this right you are saying that TM firmware updates are only for PC users?
If that's the case you best go and tell TM technical department.
Because any time you contact them for help the 1st thing you are asked & told is update your firmware. If not update it & call them back.
But since you know best I will stick with what i have been told by TM before & I will keep my firmware updated.

Where do you update your firmware? Because we are talking about plugging into the PS4 to update.

How much rotation are you getting lock to lock? Use the cockpit view to see what the hands are doing?
On the base press mode + left or right on the Dpad
Thanks, this worked to get my steering input to be on par with the drivers input.

One problem solved, next up is updating the firmware.
The game has quite a bit of input lag (PS4 Pro + T500 RS), making it pretty undriveable at this time.

Had another bug yesterday, it randomly set the wheel in game to 40 rotation and 1 flash on the wheel, it was pretty crazy. Just have to reset to fix, but that needs fixing.

That's not what I said. I think you mis-read my post, but no worries.

That's the TM website, if you never read this then you may have other issues that you missed.
Like disable a PS4 setting to stop the wheel getting confused.

You must be right.
Are you just letting people know that driver is also called firmware when it comes to Console?

Two days ago I sent a mail to Mr. Luca Sodano, one of the Kunos manager. My email was regarding the problems to setup FBB of T300RS on PS4. Today he answered in italian ( I wrote him in italian). I transalated in english for you, and that's what he wrote.

Thank you for your message. For any request concerning ACC on console please go on the following link:
https://support505games.com/it/support/home
In this site you can open a ticket by clicking a button on the right at the top of the page and click again on " open new ticket".
That's what I just did, at the end you will have the ticket number. You can choose the language you want.

I suggest each of you to open a ticket and inform them about the issues you found, explaining what console you have and what steering wheel you use. Please, when you het an answer inform the community.

I am sorry to say that you are really missing the whole point here so I will explain very carefully to you.

A PC needs drivers to make any peripheral work. Firmware is the basic operating system inside the peripheral. A console CANNOT update firmware by itself of a peripheral and as such you MUST plug it into a PC. So to get the peripheral (in this case a Thrustmaster wheel) to work you need to install drivers and a nifty little program on a PC that checks to see how it all works. This nifty little program also can update the firmware in the wheel and tell you what firmware it already had.

Suggested reading https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firmware also https://support.thrustmaster.com/en/product/t300rs-en/ Note here it says drivers and FIRMWARE.

So to sum up. You need to plug your wheel into a PC to update the firmware as explained very carefully on the Thrustmaster site.

Any more problems we are here to help ;-)

First time out of the gate today (T500 on PS4).

After remapping the shifters to... er the shifters (wtf), the game is basically unplayable due to the fact that the FFB pulls left to right in a straight line.

Soon realised that this was because the wheel was in the lowest setting for rotation (change this by pressing Mode + Right together) but the only time I seem to be able to get the problem to go away is when using 540 on the servo base and 540 (ish) in-game. This makes it playable, but it feels some way off just yet.

Also, the game seems ridiculously easy - anyone else get that?

T300RS with 599xx rim, ACC on base PS4.

Played for the first time today and happy to report zero issues. I believe my wheel base is on the latest firmware which I understand helps.

I started the console with the DS4 as i always do, with the wheel plugged in. Then just pressed the PS button on the wheel once in the game and everything is normal. I did clear the bindings when i first hooked it up (yesterday) and today when i fired it up, it defaulted to the wheel settings i previously left it on.
Using the recommended settings the FFB felt generally as expected, a little fine tuning to come but nothing too drastic required.

I experienced the same problem, even when rotation was set to normal values.
Sliding the 'gain' down to 60 or 70 fixed that issue for me.

Still can't get the T500 to work properly though. Shame.

I have exactly the same problem with my T500rs. The resetting to minimum DOR is annoying and I’ve felt the weird left/right oscillation in the FFB. After a bit of playing around I’ve turned the dynamic damping and the road feel to 0. This seems to iron out most of the weirdness in the FFB, it seems worse on some cars than others.

I'm not saying that at all. Drivers and firmware are entirely different. Console users do need to install firmware on their wheel from time to time, but they never need to install drivers onto their console.
