I don't know if this was a smart move..... I just hope the tension between Taiwan and China doesn't escalate to the next step, involving military.

I don't think it wont. But, this was a stupid move, and I think Chen is being a big dick. He could've handle this in a different way. He's just doing it to irk a knee-jerk response from China, so he can have the rest of the world come to his rescue.
