I was barely able to catch flames spitting from the IS-F Racing Concept...which looks a bit more like a fart.

I also tried to catch some for my 430 Scuderia, however even though I was able to see the flame when I was walking around the car. When I took a picture, it wouldn't appear, no matter how many times I changed the number. Anyone know why? I think it might have been paused right when the flame died out. >_>

Testing...

Hmm getting there. This the best I can manage. A more detailed explanation for the computer illiterate is nessasary. Embeding, http etc means nothing to me.

I think you have to pause at exactly the right moment. Sometimes it's most visible at a shutter speed of 60, anymore than that it goes blur and eventually disappears. But my last picture, I probably got a good timing because I could capture it at any speed.

Ok listen up. :sly:

Go to Imageshack (what most people seem to use around here), make an account, and upload the picture to their website. Go to your picture, copy the URL address, and then embed it here. By embed, I mean click on the little blue square with a white frame with a green dot in the bottom right hand side when you are making your post. It will bring up a window that says "Please enter the URL of your image", where you paste in the URL.

That make any more sense?

Cheers I got it once I tried imageshack, was a bit better at explaining to those "not in the know" then Photobucket. In the end I found success by cut and pasting the forum link. Thanks again.

this thread really bugging me as my r34 shoots massive flames but i can never capture the flames as the lack off control on th replay

It took me FOREVER to time it just right, but I finally got one this past weekend.

Did a few lighting effects with Picasa.

Since my McLaren backfires an average of 10 seconds...I had a lot of opportunities to grab it...this is just a funny one...looks like a dragon or something, haha!

I need some tips on when to stop the replay for backfire. I'm currently trying to get it with my Zonda R, and I can pause the replay so that there's a big bit of flame about a foot long coming out the exhausts... then I go to camera, get the angle right, take the picture and find that the fire isn't behind the car any more, it's sort of... in the car at the rear. It's very annoying, I could have a really good picture here. I've done everything I can think to get it, the shutter speed's up at 1/8000 and I've used every angle/panning mode/whatever there is... help!

The only thing I can say is hope for when the flame is about 3 feet out of the exhaust when you capture it, when you take the picture it will be spot on just exiting the pipes. It's almost like the flames lag a little bit.
