Here's the first shots where I actually managed to capture the exhaust flame. They're HDR too but the flame tends to mess with the HDR a bit.

Yup that last pic just proves my theory about GT4 flames looking better. The backfire in GT5 does not even reflect off the ground like it did in GT4. Its a shame too because the backfire in GT4 looked amazing.

How do you guys get those backfire's? Since thres no rewind/fast forward...
You have to pause it at the exact moment it happens during the replay. If you miss the backfire, you have to start the replay over. I suggest doing it on a very small track so you can get to the replay right away. It usually happens while downshifting.

I sort of cheated and kept flicking through the gears. then quickly pausing and unpausing till I got a good one.
For a good pic. you need the flame to be away from the car. the shutter seems to take the pic a few ms before the actual paused screen.

Yeah I thought so. I hate it that there's no decent rewind/fast forward function like GRID Racedriver's... I LOVED that. The slowmo fast forward etc.

Edit: LOL, btw:

There's someone on a camel in the background (rear mirror)... :D

Yup fast forward and rewind should have been in the replay feature for sure. Thought for sure it would have had it by now after 5 games.

Ahhh, at least i know its possible now. Had a nice one from a GT-R i wanted to capture, but it disappeared each time i x'ded. :(
