Oh dear god. Quick get a litre of methadone or something! :scared:

Hahaha mate fear not, I won't subject the CRAP guys to any more Nurb runs, at least not just yet :P

Well done guys, congratulations on the epic achievment 👍

I was very dissapointed (and suprised) when I found out about all the no shows, but It sounds like you guys still had a lot of fun and enjoyed the experience. I cant wait for next year, where i'll be in the GHH fan club once more 👍

Cheers McDino :)

We had a blast! Next year we will have an army of GHH supporters hopefully!

The dropouts are frustrating but can be avoided. We employed methods to ensure no overheating of equipment and we have a good internet connection too, it is important to have these things taken care of as entering this race with anything less than a top notch connection and planned hardware maintenance is asking for trouble. I have a cable internet connection and combined with our careful planning we had zero issues until the last lap glitch, pretty good for a release date PS3 'fatty' that did not raise a single degree despite it being 40 degrees celsius 👍

The no-shows have no excuse, it takes maybe 10 seconds to write a quick message via PSN or email and not doing that is pretty damn poor 👎

Hey guys, Ryan from ring bandits here. Was a great race and you guys certainly kept us under pressure as 1 lap isn't much in 24 hours. A little info for next time, asm was used only when tires were wearing or if driver was fatigued. It actually is a few seconds slower if on a fast concentrated lap but it is safe for small errors when your not truly focused. We had a few good battles at parts of the race:P we tested on free run and were faster , we were shocked when the weather changed circuit is slower even in dry compared to non changeable track. I think we all learnt a great deal and shame those others didny enter. We will host a spa enduring soon. Let's all keep in contact. I had a great time on the livestream to we had good.company and I was having fun attempting to entertain peoplr too:P

From my limited watching, this was a serious undertaking. Unfortunately, there were some network instability issues, but that did not take away from the excitement. 24 hours of gaming did a toll on the racers. I was able to watch bits and pieces through ustream. I paid closer attention to the forums though.

I congratulate all those who finished.

Thanks mate 👍

It was a gargantuan (love that word) undertaking and we can't wait for the next event, it will be 100 times better :)

Awesome Guys!!!
You've incarnated the spririt of the event. Congratulation for every members of the team and supporters.
Now that our 1st edition is over you need to prepare for next year...:)

We will be release race results and analysis in the next few days on wurks.ca.

Here is an interesting one. You've put up an impressive average lap time of 9:19.100!

For those who think they can beat you next year, here's a challenge!

Cheers Demplar, and thank you for the opportunity to race in this amazing race :)

9:19 is very close to the average that I predicted we would need to be competitive so I'm very happy with that :)

Can't wait for next year, I'm already thinking things through in regards to lead up preparation etc, we will be seeking to go one better next year 👍

Well folks, it's that time of year and the annual Wurks 24hr race is just over 48hrs away!

Allow me to introduce you to my team for 2013:

Andrew K: manager, driver and 2012 veteran
Luke M: Driver and 2012 veteran
Dan H: driver and 2012 veteran
Johan W: driver
Dave Z: driver

Keep an eye on this thread, we will update it every hour or so during the race.

Last year we were beaten into 2nd place but we want to go one better this year and win but it won't be easy so lend some support for team GHH :)

PS I am disappointed that there aren't more entries, after last year I would have thought there'd be a full grid...

Just hope no NSX's show on race day, might give you a run for your money ;) haha

Good luck for the race!

It's not an NSX I'm worried about but if I even smell a Ford GT LM SPEC II test car I'm going to kill the world....

Hahaha!

As I am currently suffering through a simultaneous kitchen and bathroom install, I am rapidly getting to the stage where I wish someone WOULD kill me! :crazy:

Can't believe it's this time of year again. I wish you and the rest of Team GHH all the best! 👍

Thanks Lissa, and don't sweat the kitchen thing just get Pete to do it :)

Well there's 12 hours to go and there's been skullduggery afoot! Teams octane and motion blur have intercontinentally conspired with Dans work and he's been rendered obsolete as he's been called in to work and cannot race :-O

So we are now 4 but that's all good, we had 2 for the first 13 hours last year so 4 is a luxury lol

Oh man, I loved following last years.. was hoping to get in this year but my interest in GT5 has faded and my team is non-existent.. Best of luck to all!

Cheers Mac!

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, only a few hours to go now :crazy:

Good luck to all teams, I am very proud that all teams have at least one CRAP member too :)

Best wishes to "dem pesky Swedes" and also to my favorite whinging poms Team MB :D

Going well, we have a lead close to 9 minutes, been 100% wet for 12+ hours...

Well, I am finally fully recovered from the race and the 45 odd hours that I was awake for.

A race report is required but given the length of the race I will be more so focused on my recollection.

First off I will send my ENORMOUS thanks and appreciation to Kurt and Olivier from Wurks.ca, those guys seriously deserve all the credit for this race and Team GHH will always recognise this fact; they spend a year organising the event (on top of their RL jobs) and deserve every ounce of credit they get, and then some so thank you both, without you we would not have this amazing opportunity.

We had 5 drivers initially but Dan, 2012 veteran, was called on to work so we were left with 4.

We started with 3 drivers as Dave (aka Rain Man) was working and arrived with about 4 hours gone in the race.

We had an amazing battle with all 3 teams close until around lap 8 when Team Motion Blur (TMB) had issues maintaining the structural integrity of their vehicle, then it was down to two with Team Octane Racing (TOR) and GHH battling it out for the next 6 or so hours. The lead changed with pit stops multiple times and it was gripping, even racing with many a heart stopping moment.

The rain arrived around the 7 hour mark and that was the defining moment of the race. Team GHH had the edge it seemed as we used the talents of our drivers to maximum extent. We had Dave who is exceptional in the wet, myself who is very capable also, Johan who I dub "Mr Consistent" and Luke who whilst not as good in the wet as the rest of us is great in the dry, a true gun.

The decision was made to give Dave an extended stint when the full wets went on and it paid off, he nailed some amazing laps whilst the other teams seemed to struggle a bit so that really made a huge impact for us.

Myself and Johan also did multiple stints with Luke selflessly sacrificing lap time in order for the team to build a lead, truly a selfless act considering he drove like "a boss" last year and performed outstandingly in the dry this year.

From then we built our lead and finally lapped TOR with a few laps to go, it was a huge effort from the GHH guys and I am immensely proud of each of them and I hope that they are all available again next year as I count them all permanent members of the team and they will be instrumental if we are to defend our title next year :bowdown:

Finally I wish to express my immense respect and gratitude to teams TOR and TMB. TMB had 2 'green' members who were fresh to the 'ring and one member drove for hours to get their HQ after being at a mandatory family wedding, on top of that he was using an unfamiliar rig and wheel so they really did a bang up job during the race and should be extremely proud of themselves 👍

The Swedish contingent of TOR also provided us with some amazing racing, all through the race. yes they dropped off when the rain hit but this was not driving skill I suspect, I have not asked the guys but GHH collectively suspect that their downforce was reduced and possibly torque as well. These settings provide greater topline and cornering speed but in the wet they prove to be insanely hard to drive with, this is what we suspect happened and if TOR could confirm or deny our suspicions we would be happy to hear if we are correct!

TOR made the race what it was for us, they refused to allow us to run away with it and even tried their damnedest to avoid being lapped, something they may well have accomplished if they did not have a costly crash on an out lap from the pits towards the end of the race; it was that incident that allowed us to lap them earlier than expected and win as comfortably as we did.

I fervently hope that all teams from 2013 are on track next year because with the experience of the 2013 event behind them they will both be formidable opponents and with the Ring Bandits set to return (along with any new teams) it would make for the best event yet :)

Once again, thanks to all teams and race organisers, this was racing at its purest and team GHH cannot wait to begin the preparations for our title defense in 2014, I might even start it this week :crazy:

This is a resurrected thread, the original idea was for it to be the GHH race progress thread but, in addition, it will now also serve as our news and info thread for those who are interested in our progress!

OP Amended with the below:

GHH are now gearing up for the GTP Nurburgring 6 Hour race next month, Nov 2014, and after that we will be moving on to the CORE 24hrs of Nurburgring VLN Qualifying series then on to the big 24hr race in Feb so we have plenty to prepare for!

Stay tuned for all the latest info and race updates here, hopefully those who have supported us so far in this thread can get onboard again and join us for the ride :)

We have changed a little since last time so I shall introduce the current team and offer up special shout outs to Luke, Jake and Dan who are our emeritus members, though still very much a part of the team and welcome back any time.

Current GHH Members:

@Heathenpride (TM)
@WIDFO
@TDZdave
@tedbullpit05
@ItzRacing

Emeritus Members:

An amendment to the Emeritus Members @GOZHAWK should be added as he did do a VLN and the 2014 N24 with Johan and myself,

I am excited for the next N24, I will try to make at least 2 VLN races, we need to be in the top 4 on the grid for it, a nothing less then a win will suffice next year!

WELL! It has been a while as the Heathens have been very busy!

We have just completed an immense weekend of racing that included the following:

Round 3 of the CORE VLN, 3x 3 hour races. @MINT_GTR started off in race 1 and finished a commendable 4th after some issues in the rain. @Heathenpride had the gig in race 2 and, after a couple of incidents, brought home a podium with 3rd place. @TDZdave had R3 and had a big problem with the invisible wall at the Nord pit exit, this caused 'limp home mode' and he finished 2 laps down, unfortunate.

VLN Results are currently provisional.

In-between those races we had the 24hrs of Daytona which is part of the GTPlanet Endurance Series - An epic undertaking that is the brainchild of @AJ who, with his team of amazing GTP members, bring to life something that many have always dreamed of.

The day started with the support race; a 2hr team event dubbed 'The Mighty Miatas' and we fielded a team of two: @Famine & @David Brooks. Both drove very well, consistently and in true Heathen spirit to bring home a (provisional) fourth place. Well done lads!!!

The big race kicked off a few hours later with Heathens HP, Mint, @iwasere, @JonoStan96 and Beau Albert forming the team. There were 3 classes competing: LMP2, GT500 and GT3 with us competing in the latter in the Kaz GTR 'Schulz' 2013.

The race was a learning curve for us (and we are always learning despite our extensive 24hr race experience) and we take much from it. We have provisionally finished 4th in class (out of 5) and 10th overall out of 12. I think that may change but we shall wait and see.

Stints went well with notable mentions to all drivers except myself, I struggled at a track I have never really liked but I must put my hand up and admit that I should have been better prepared, I shall not make that mistake again.

I would like to thank the following people for their efforts in the lead up, during and post race for GTPES, CORE and GHH:

- ALL OTHER TEAMS! Would not be possible without you, thanks for the great racing!
- @AJ and his team of stewards, commentators and all other support staff, you guys were amazing!
- Commentator Tom, man you need to go into formula one and all other motor sports; your talents are wasted doing anything else!
- @memto89 and @jonnyb1990 as well as your support staff (being yourselves I think lol) and commentators! We know you work hard and the effort is not going unnoticed within the ranks of GHH 👍
- My team of dedicated drivers! Wow, you guys are all worthy and I can't wait for many more races with you all, this year will be amazing!

Now we move on to the CORE 24hrs of Nurburgring and the GTPES 12hrs of Bathurst where GHH will be fielding 2 teams in the GT3 class and the GT Cup class, make sure you get behind your favourite Heathens or, if so inclined,one of the other amazing teams that have been given the opportunity to race in both of these amazing series'

Thanks for reading guys, see you on track or the forums soon!

Hi all!!

Justy a shout out to GHH members @MINT_GTR, @JonoStan96 and @Beau Albert who are participating in a 3 hour race tonight for the ROOZ group.

There's a VERY fast group of drivers who are running tonight and it's a full room so it will be a great spectacle.

Make sure you get behind your GHH members but also the other ROOZ guys who are all a bunch of good blokes deserving of support :)

Results up when it's done :)
